Cyberpunk 2077

So..there are some of stuff from the PnP rpg that will not be implemented, namely stats like empathy, attractiveness, body type, luck, Movement allowance (MA). Also classes that CDPR consider 'too difficult' to implement as player background are scrapped, actually you could only play as three class out of all avalaible classes in original game. Not hyped at all and worried a bit, but i hope they could nail it with the next gameplay presentation. Combined that with the focus of voiced protagonist, i honestly could only hope it will turn good. Well at least CDPR could deliver the story and worldbuilding aspect, afterall Role playing and gameplay mechanic is not really their strongest stuff.

And..i dont know why some people are concerned with simple stuff like third person perspective when there is more pressing concern regarding the roleplaying aspect of the game.

This needs to be added at once. It was Mother 3 before Codex used it.

Oh it should be more somber than that, I never been so crushed like this ever since deus ex MD publisher fiasco.
There is no damn reason why CDPR would remove stats like empathy and body type. Especially the former, being the integral part of why cyberpsychosis rampant in the night city and the fact that is basically one of stats for persuasive attribute. And lo behold my rage will be more growing when they would announce that convincing someone in this game would be like picking perk for axii sign. lol and big nope and Nyope.

For those who dont know, Attractiveness and Empathy are when charisma stat from fallout is divided by two into separate physical and mental attribute for how persuasive you could be. Both strength and endurance from fallout are merged into one stat called body type, while also a skill on its own that derive from body type stat. Movement allowance is basically endurance and agility merged together, but only for how fast and long when you run. Because relfex or 'vats' is governed by..well Reflex stat. Luck stat is luck stat.

To me voiced protagonist is the worst offender. After shitout 4 and Mass effect, I am tired of turning games into movies.

It worked with witcher because Geralt Has got a backstory and character. In an RPG, voiced protagonist kills IT for me.

This just pooped up in my feeds;

Background info;
YY is quite a decent Youtuber that specializes on modern RPGs and general publisher fuck-ups related to them and I do trust his reporting (if not his tastes, completely); the guy has been putting out decent and accurate pieces since I first discovered him.

Yeah, this is my biggest issue with the game so far. To me it's counter intuitive to give the player the ability to give a character a backstory, but then give that character an in-universe voice. One of the things i like to do when i can give a backstory to my character is imagine his/her voice in my head.

I'm honestly fine with the first person perspective though. Heard some people complaining about that.

Voiced protagonists can be done well. I'd prefer a silent one, but eh, we'll see.
So how many petitions are there to tell CDPR to have Carpenter Brut and Perturbator write the soundtrack to Cyberpunk 2077?

I juste hate, hate, hate, HATE first person forced on to me in RPGs ...
hope there will be mod for that, its quite easy to fix unlike other problem like Voiced protag and missing stats

They've split this stat into generic Strength and Constitution.
True, seem they just use the skills that derived from it. I dont know why, seem its just wasted work when the existing system just work nicely. Body type is also about your body ability to whistand more damage and pain, maybe this could be mitigated by damage resistant replaced by increased hitpoint. Let's see how that turned out.

From what I heard of the gameplay, it sounds alot like Deus Ex.

I'm hoping Cyberpunk 2077 plays a lot like a modern version of OG Deus Ex if it is a pure first person RPG.

Skill points being vital to gameplay (i.e only being able to fire a gun accurately with points placed in the gun skill etc.), plenty of choice in approaching any scenario etc.

Call me an idiot, but then it doesn't really qualify as an RPG for me. Or well, more like a shooter with light RPG elements.

Doesn't mean it still can't be a good game.

I'd argue that Human Revolution is more deserving of the shooter with RPG elements label than the original Deus Ex. It's rather light on reliance on skill point investment for performing certain actions as most of the points gained unlock perks rather than new skill levels.

The original is still a shooter but it is more skill dependent (though somewhat forgiving than say System Shock 2) that I feel that it does get away from that label to a greater extent than HR. The marked improvement from levelling up Rifles from Untrained to Master level is quite impressive, especially when it turns a shotgun into a pellet spewing sniper rifle that centres on a single target.

Game is FPP RPG with TPP cutscenes

FP perspective made to feel more personal

RPG with Shooter Elements not a Shooter with RPG elements

Multiple different progression systems (Skills, Perks, etc.)

V, protagonist - urban merc/hired gun.

Full character creation system (Gender, Looks, Lifepath/Backstory)

You DO NOT pick classes in the beginning, class system is fluid based on choices

Dystopian Cyberpunk future shown in sunlight on purpose. Full Day/Night Cycle. Noir themes bleed through environment and aesthetic

Characters from Cyberpunk 2020 lore will appear

Netrunner, Techie and Solo are main focused classes You can combine classes

Optional classes exist (like Rockerboy and Corporate) and you can pull perks from them to add into your own custom class classes are represented by characters throughout the game (via G4ge)

Story and quest system from Witcher 3 is implemented into Cyberpunk similarly. Choice and consequence is HUGE. Emphasized that the game is an RPG first and foremost Story is personalized by player choice.

Combat - Ranged combat and Melee combat. Learned lessons from Witcher 3. FPS Melee combat.

Weapons - 3 branches - Power Weapons (heavy hitting/stagger), Tech Weapons (penetrating through cover), Smart Weapons (tracking/following)

Vehicles - Motorcycles, Cars, hinted at flying cars.

V is a fully voiced character. Both Male and Female completely voiced. V's personality is shaped by player. Backstory and interactions shape V's personality. Cyberpunk is a dark dystopia in the same vein as Witcher 3 being Dark Fantasy Details of the world - everything has a purpose. World design was a huge focus in setting the tone.

Night City - in between SF and LA (fictional city). Inspired by both cities. 6 unique districts in the city. Each area has its own feel on top of the base Noir feel Exploration is encouraged.

Witcher was horizontally huge, Cyberpunk is vertically huge.

You can enter buildings, Mega Buildings exist as well with multiple floors and multiple areas to explore within a single building.

No level scaling. 2 forms of XP - Core XP - Main Missions and Street Cred - Side missions Higher Street Cred opens new exclusive vendors and fixers (new jobs) EDIT: Also there’s full frontal nudity and you can take people back to your apartment for a one night stand, if you fancy it

Sounds good; I'm sold.
