Cyberpunk 2077

True, but it's also not that simple. Just because they yell loundly, doesn't mean people will listen to them, yet organizations and groups are catering to them. Why?
Normal people have never paid them any heed but Retards don't try to convince normal people of anything. They yell the loudest at those at the top who are so far removed from normal day life they think some horde of dumb asses yelling at them is what people think.

Midget Punk 2077.

He still manages to look breathtaking.

Doesn't "Atlas Shrugged" talk about those people on top helping along the destruction of their societies? The plan being to have enough backup finances to rebound on what replaces it, I assuming because they'll be even higher in the new society replacing the old one.

Something to think about.

I remember a time when people didn't give a shit about the gender of the characters, and just cared if it was well written or not. Sarah Connor and Ellen Ripley? No one cared they were women, all people saw were kick ass and well written characters regardless of gender.

Uh, yes, lots of people cared and it made the world of scifi more awesome that they were.

Twatter Activist: "We want more Trans Representation in video games! We want more Trans Representation in video games! We want more Trans Representation in video games! We want more Trans Representation in video games!
Mike Pondsmith and CD Projekt Red: "OK. In the future trans people are seen as sexually desirable and exploited by corporations in the same way that sexually desirable cis people are today."
Twatter Activist: "NO! NOT THAT WAY! REEEEEEEEEEEEEEE!"

Same principle as always. Create with fake SJWs/feminists outlandish illogical demands so that the hate poster and youtuber can react to them. Hate and fear is the much stronger motivator to vote as reason, logic and empathy. So it works perfectly. It already worked at the last election.

I'm a little off-put that yeah, I feel the same way.

This is a nontroversy in a game that is derived from the progressive roots of punk and anti-establishmentalism.

You'd think that, but the Twitteria doesn't see it that way. Cyberpunk 2020 is old cyberpunk and not really accepted in the new canon of what cyberpunk should be about.

/edit: But when it comes to Internet screeching, I kinda doubt ResetEra is going to live to see CP2077's release...

Recreating the appearance of the actor in games is becoming more common. It's been a regular feature in Quantic Dream games in recent years. In Detroit: Become Human, I was a little shocked by how much the game characters resembled the actors. Performance capture on good actors can add quite a bit to the characters' depth in a game.

Sure, i'm not against performance capture, i think it's pretty cool. However performance captures does not depend on representing the real life features of someones as far as i can tell? What i find wrong with actors appearing in games is that this artificially ties a game character to a particular look that is not picked on the merits of it being the perfect look for the written character. Then as more actors go into the game industry, you get the same actor/look reappearing in different games for no good reason.

Imagine working really hard to adapt your passion project to modern media (and not being a techno-phobe, money-grubbing half-wit like Sapkowski).

Now imagine a bunch of middle-aged white men and women telling you:
  • It's racist to shoot a gang of teched out cyber-criminals [which you designed and created] because they have more melanin levels than the [customize-able] protagonist.
  • The trans-supermodel being sexualized in the same manner as non-trans models to sell soda... is insensitive in a dystopian setting where gov'ts are run by mega-corporations and citizens can replace body-parts at-will with any manner of augmentation you can think of.
I'd be mad, too.

There is also of course the FemiNazi's who are a transgender white supremacist group.

Seems like all groups have their bad eggs and aren't "pure" in the Cyberpunk world. No wonder the Twitter weirdos hate it so much.
So Terfs basically?

Man, I have gotten so completely bored with gaming discussions online, bunch of people trying to get the 5 minutes of fame by trying to rile up controversy for stupid shit.

Like that YIIK game, bad game, but people got angry because it drew inspiration from the real world mystery of Elisa Lam's death, which makes me think these people either never read or watch anything because drawing inspiration from real events is the most normal and common thing in writing.

Just so tired, so tired. I am just gonna play games.

But those 5 minutes is like the best drug of all time. Not to mention being twitter famous among a small click of circle jerking weirdos who are trapped in a echo-bubble makes ones existence validated for at least one more day. Be sure to check out their pateron, amazon wish book, other assorted moneyed accumulating websites since every dollar donated is is a big F-U to all bullies out there who had the gall to say I disagree.

Imagine complaining about a explicit Dystopian setting not being nice to people living there.

Wait, I don't need to imagine it, because I have seen it a lot.

In the last few years there has been this idea that if you write something that is what you like and want to happen. Make a short story about a space ship that crashes on a planet and the passengers resort to cannibalism to survive. You're sick. How about a tragedy happens? Well you better hope none of them are women or minorities or we are gonna have words you misogynist racist asshole.

Hadn't thought of it like that, but yeah, kinda. Like people getting mad about historical works being racist. Racism has been an issue for a very long time in human history and it wasn't always skin color that was the big difference in those people. Some people could even look very similar but would spit on each other rather than talk to each other.

Would love to have the seeming excessive free time and energy these people have that they need to engage in Fake outrage.

CDPR could drown out the controversy if they wanted to by releasing the footage right now. The discussion would shift to talking about the gameplay and mechanics, and not so much the political implications or motivations of a cyberdong.

I doubt that anyone who's interested in buying the game even cares about this whole shit show. I certainly don't and I am surprised that the last 2 or 3 pages have been nothing but that.

As I already said, I think the best weapon you have, is to simply not let it bother you. We're talking about attention whores here.
