Disney to Acquire Lucasfilm Ltd.

I'm looking forward to the next Star Wars film, not that I'm going to give Disney a fucking cent of my money, but hey, the movies can't get any worse, or can they...

Why don't you leave star wars kinect alone? I love both Star Wars and dancing. They were obviously made to be combined...

Definitely. If I had a Storm Trooper costume I'd do nothing but dances with lots of pelvic thrusts.

Thos photoshops don't even make any kind of sense, did Mickey Mouse started appearing in all Marvel movies and shows? Do you really think Disney ar that dumb?

There is also this image of a supposed article, about how Disney is gonna reboot the movies with Justin Bieber as Luke, and people are believing it despite the fact that is complete bullshit.

O no the company that owns Pixar, and is responsible for so many good movies (like The Avengers) took Star Wars away from the guy that casted Hyden Cristensen as Darth Vader and created Jar Jar Binks, good god.

Nerdrage. I agree though.

I admit that I honestly have no idea of what Disney will do with the Star Wars franchise, it could turn out good, it could turn out bad.

I think the main problem is that Disney is yet another faceless corporation who plays on your childhood images in order to make a big pile of money, and honestly don't care if their product is really a fun told space opera adventure about the battle between good and evil, or some pathetic schlock only kids can love because they are not smart enough yet to realize they have been had for their allowances.

To be honest, there really doesn't need to be more Star Wars movies.
What story do they want to tell next?

They haven't said, but Mark Hamill is rumored to be locked in, the Empire will still be around, I'm betting Luke and Han will have their twins, and I would wager they will be picking and choosing stuff form the expanded universe to throw in. If they get most of the original cast, I'm betting it will be better than the prequels at the very least. There are tons of good stories to be told imo.

Because real artists struggle to make ends meet, go hungry all day and any profit is SELLING OUT amirite?

Just writing down what I think is the case, doesn't mean that I am right.

Right now I don't care much for either 'faceless corporations' or the so called 'starving artists', as I haven't seen much from either side that impresses me.

New Star Wars movies with George's input but without his control? Fuck yes please.

Going by the pathetic baby shit he'd been saying over the years, he had no intention of making more Star Wars sequels anyway, and even if he did, when was the last time something Lucas made didn't suck? The dude can't even release the unraped originals just to be a baby dick.

Say what you will about Disney, they've made some good films in recent years and they have hired some fantastic directors to do them. Lucas seems to hire friends or 'yes men' that he can troll with retarded ideas. It's almost a perfect fit, though I'll probably miss seeing that Lucasfilm logo.

The Lucasfilm logo will still be there....just like the Marvel Studios logo was there for The Avengers....

Disney would not disband Lucasfilm...much more profitable to leave it as a subsidiary....since the infrastructure would not have to be redone..

This. The name means a lot to people. I bet it will be sticking around. Disney still entertains me on a regular basis so I don't get the hate tbh. What was that last movie, ah yes, "Princess and the Frog", that shit was good for a kids flick. They still have what it takes. I'm willing to bet Disney will buy the White house next. Who doesn't like Pixar either? Hell, I'm chomping at the bit to see them make a Marvel or even a Star Wars movie. The best thing that could have ever happend was Lucas losing the franchise. Best news ever. He was running the series into the ground. Maybe now they can bring it back. If not, no big deal.

Disney's most recent animated feature was Tangled, which I found very well written, amusing and, well, helluva fun. Worth watching.

Plus, it has <s>Arcade Gannon</s> Zachary Levi as Flynn.

yeah, disney made a few really great movies over the years. Worth watching some. At least better then the things George did.

And I think the echo on the new SW movies was so damn huge ... how could the people at Disney not have heard that?

Good point, I think you're right. From what I'm reading, Lucas will be overseeing the movies as well, only this time there will be people in charge who can tell him 'no', which is precisely what's needed.
