Disney to Acquire Lucasfilm Ltd.

Thos photoshops don't even make any kind of sense, did Mickey Mouse started appearing in all Marvel movies and shows? Do you really think Disney ar that dumb?

It's jokes, bro. I think pretty much anyone who has paused to think about it has realized that these franchises going from George Lucas to Disney can only be seen as a positive. It's not guaranteed they'll use the properties well, but they can't do worse, so...

Disney has been climbing up again after another down period, yes, and they seem to treat their subsidiaries and properties well. In output to consumers, that is, I dunno if they're a pleasant employer.

This is a series that ended it's third (Episode VI) movie with the Carebears defeating the Galactic Empire and proceding to make a happy Dance.
Agreed.

My hope is that someday, say 20 years from now, when George Lucas is dead and gone, somebody else will remake his prequels into something halfway good.

At least that was my hope until it all became property of hope-destroying Mickey Mouse.

I am surprised they haven't done a reboot already.

I wonder if Disney now has the power to release Blu-Rays of the truly original trilogy. Without added CGI and Haiden Christensen. One can only hope, I guess.

O dear gods, that would be phantastic. I'd be satisfied with mere DVDs. Those fan-remasters are so much better than the Short-Bus-Editions...

This is at least something. Hopefully Disney doesn't shoot down the rest of the attempts.

One can only hope. Lucas was such a douchebag by getting rid of the original. "It wasn't my vision for the original to be like that...", well it was sure a lot better Lucas and only you didn't think so.

I've never watched any fan edits. What am I missing?

Imagine if they got a completely random director to make the new movies. I can imagine Tarantino with a Samuel L Jackson-esque Jedi spewing F-bombs. Except because it's probably gonna be rated U or PG, he's gonna be calling everybody a motherfudger instead

Some rumors already. Matthew Vaughn (Kickass, XMen:First Class) Rumored for New 'Star Wars' Installment; Ford Interested in Revisiting Han Solo.

I'm not sure how much I'd want to see old man Ford return. Didn't work so well for Indy IV.

Yeah, but the movie just sucked in every way imaginable. He still has what it takes despite that. If old Obi Wan (forgot the actors name) can wiggle a saber around, Ford can do it. Wait...he doesn't have a lightsaber. Well, he can shoot shit with a blaster right? I should edit this, but the hell with it.

Yea, I'm torn, as well. Indy IV certainly left a bad taste but I'd sure look forward to seeing Solo again and finding out where he ended up.

yeah, but do you want to see old Hamil?

Well. A sequel if done well would be great. But how big is the chance for that?

Hamill is still the shit man. Have you heard his Joker voice? He should be the new villain in Star Wars. He could wear a dark robe and face paint and even talk like the Joker. Maybe he wants to turn the galaxy into a giant carnival or some shit. Star Wars Episode VII: Wrath of the Joker.

Seriously though, in the books Luke turned to the dark side at one time, but was later converted back somehow (I think it had something to do with his kids). Forgot which book though.

In the Dark Empire comic, Luke purposefully goes to the Dark Side in order to understand it better. Leia pulls him back from the Dark Side.

That's a bit of a risky plan. That's like trying heroin to see what all the fuss is about. I would have thought Luke would have been smarter than that....
