Fallout 4 coming out on November 10, free mobile spin-off out now

So yeah, anyone who's dead in a PA can be looted, thus, early PA. :\
That was the case in F3, but you couldn't wear it until later in the game.

btw. I started wondering, what's the main quest in this game. Like, you come out from the vault, go check on your house, meet the robot, take the dog and... what's next?

And you roam around and then an orbital strike happens and then an airship dies and then.. yeah, that's all what I managed to catch.

IF it works like that, then I can see it working. (you know, Institute mod)

However the trailer video has pre war US Army soldiers in T60.

Does it? I thought that was T-45d. Have you got a comparison available?

Shoulders. T45D Shoulderpads are thin and long.

T60 are thick and short. I'll get you pictures, hold on.

Then the Brothehood arrives, gives you flares to summon up their Vertiird and recruit you to fight the evil Institute which has been taken over by the Enclave.

The trailer showed the player shooting at a BoS initiate, so maybe BoS are the bad guys here? But yes, I know their trailers don't make much sense in that matter.

I really hope they don't make the player look for their family again. Oh god, please, don't.

Nevermind, there's no difference between T60 and T45.. ugh

Still, I think they were using T60s because that's the latest model. Or since the T60 looks rusted, what if it's a prototype, or.. or..

ugh.

Perhaps there is a proper branching storylines, so you can decide wether to side with BoS or The Institute.. or neither. That would be pretty neat. Say what you will of F:NV, but visually the Legion was pretty damn weak and not at all scary. At least east coast enclave looked dangerous.

If at all possible, I am going to do what I did in FO3: Unlimited Followers mod, some mod that cranks up enemy spawns to 11, and go all out power armor squad. FO3 was actually tons of fun played like that :)

So... It's literally just a retexture. Wow.
But I really like the new HUD for some reason.

I thought about this, too, but it doesn't sound like Bethesda, really. But maybe I'm wrong? They kinda did this in Skyrim, although it was not a main quest.

Because it's supposed to be played like that

Wonder if the damage resistance is like FO3, where it removes X percentage of taken damage, or like Damage Threshold in F:NV where you need a powerful enough weapon to punch through, else 0 damage. Hope for the latter actually.

Just watched some FO3 let's play videos, in one a lvl2 character assaults a enclave trooper in Power armor with a chinese officer sword and kills him. Eugh.

It does look a little different. The boots, the shinguards, the knee-plates, and the chestpiece are all different. There's minor differences in the helmet, too. I wonder why something less advanced would have a higher number. The T-45 armour series wasn't made in 2045, so that can't be it.

Also. . . T-45B? Isn't it T-45D? Are they just pulling things out of their ass and outright contradicting their own writing now or did they confuse d and b?

On my first playthrough I found chinese officer's sword in a corpse around Megaton (so around level 2) and I kept using until the end. Repairing it was a pain, though.
But hey, you can put a super mutant down with your bare fists, what did you expect.

The T60 seems a lot weaker.
Maybe it is some very early prototype that got issued to the National Guard or something.
But on the other hand, in 2077 the T51b was already deployed, so the National Guard would have gotten the T45b.... Ah well, maybe they didn't get the T45b that soon in Boston...
We'll see if there'll be any lore explanation.

There will be. Delivered by Obsidian in 2016. Just as before.
But seriously, it does look like a retexture with some minor changes in general looks. I doubt they needed a new model to have new knees. They could at least give it some brand new helmet.

Good riddance. Skill points served an antiquated purpose in perhaps 90s renditions of the franchise, but in modern gaming they're just a hassle to the player. Glad to see that's now streamlined in a more efficient and ergonomic manner. In my opinion skill points have absolutely no place in a modern Fallout game.

Yeah ... it actually makes sense, as strange as it sounds, for a gamedeveloper like Bethesda it might really the best move to simply turn their games into full FPS, because FPS mechanics work actually pretty well for First Person games ... who would have thought!

THere are various models. Look at the screenshot. It says: "MODEL B" or "MODEL A" for the T60. (Also, I don't use - because the US Army IRL doesn't use it for T series stuff. - is for Soviets. ie: T-54 medium tank vs T54 Prototype medium tank. The former is a USSR medium tank, the latter is a US prototype tank)

IE:

T45A

T45B

T45C

T45D

T51A

T51B

T51C

T60A

T60B

I don't remember seeing a T60C.

What are the earlier marks of T-45 even going to be? How the hell do they even exist in post-apocalyptia, the only one thrown into mass-production was Mk. D?
Same with the T-51 armour; Mk. B was the only one mass-produced as well.

I have got no idea honestly. I always thought all the other T45s were failures which took too much power, too weak, etc. And the T51A was a short lived variant. [like M47 Patton and M48 Patton]

I don't mind the new variants, every single Fallout game has messed around with the power armors, and AFAIK there are no definitive answers about what the US army was issued pre-war. Just references here and there.

The military loves it's variants, if you look at any military machine there is bound to be a staggering amount of small variants, often called the same thing but different production blocks. Try reading on the DCS:W forums about the minutiae of fighter aircraft systems, where there are page long discussions of what specific variant of radar warning reciever was used on the F-14A Tomcat and on what production blocks..

Well, I can confirm that for US tanks. Sort of.
