Fallout 4 Creation Club is now live

You and I have a very different definition of "Some of the best games"

I'd say there's not a single console game I was envious of console players for, whereas there are a whole selection of PC exclusives that I've heralded as being the best games ever.

Going to be honest, I was always a fan of Ratchet and Clank, especially 2.

There's some nice FPS's on console, Halo CE still stands as a pretty nice game.

Although then again.

We got CE on PC~

While I agree that PCs have got most of the good games, there are some exceptions: Persona, Monster Hunter (till world), infamous, etc.

Sure compared to PC it is nothing, but there are some.

ALSO LOOK AT THE STEAM REVIEWS, JUST LOOK AT THEM:
...

Now I am genuinely happy!

This is just amazing to read.

You'd need the overall score to drop down to mixed for it be a cause for song and dance.
------------------------
I once thought of putting down a small review myself. No deep analysis just the general feelings from my 17 or so hours and it might've read like hitpiece as there's but one small thing that could be interpreted as positive about the game, but I was never sure if it'd really be worth it.

The way I see it, every negative review counts. The community stopped paid mod once and they will not go out without a fight. United we stand, divided we fall.

The actual reason community can stop paid mod 1.0 is because Valve is part of it and they know when to quit, in paid mod 2.0 there is only Bethesda.
It's unlikely Bethesda still care about PC players enough to stop this nonsense, since that also mean they need to give up the chance to extract some money from console players.
After all, the actual target audience of paid mod 2.0 are console players.

Yeah, but that shit has still to be made on the PC. I wouldn't be surprised if it simply dies because people care less and less about it and at some point it stops being profitable. Fallout 4 is already not as modable like previous Bethesda games, due to some changes in the code and the number of mods, particularly biger ones for Fallout 4 is much smaller compared to something like F3, Skyrim or New Vegas, if I remember correctly.

Latin American Customer: Hi I wish to purchase those 7 dollars worth of CC Points.
Bethesda: Alright, 8 Dollars please.

So do we know how much of the money goes to the creators and how much of it goes to Bethsoft?

The creators get paid a set amount of money that is specified in a contract (which I have no idea how much is). They do not see any money from sales.
Basically is like when game companies pay a musician to make music for a game. They pay the musician a set amount and the musician does not get any money from the sales of the game.

It is a standard practice in game industry and a few others if I remember correctly. Still scumy, but in their legal rights.

Honestly at this point, Nexus is more appealing. One, there are donations, which go directly to the author, you can pay, but you are not forced into it(unlike CC) and the mods still belong to you.

Of course some people will gladly accept, but I think many respected modders will stay away from CC. For example, EVE, project Nevada, someguy series etc.

Eh, that's certainly not a deal I'd go with unless the set payment is rather high. Also, will Bethesda keep fixing it in case of bugs?

@Ediros: Barely anyone ever donates on the Nexus or other sides. I've released multiple (partly high profile) projects for various games over the years and have yet to see a single dollar. Donations is a nice dream, but most creators can forget about it.

Is that so? I knew that majority of people do not donate, but I expected something really. That is sad to hear. In that case, I can understand appeal of creation club. I mean, you just post some stupid mod like pipboy reskin and get payed for it. Sure no additional funds after that, but compared to not getting any donations at all, it seems far more appealing.

The Creation Club is here to stay it seems.

Some rumor says CC paid about ten times of how one usually gets in the industry for making the same content, but it's pretty vague.

*ahem* They don't have the best track record when it comes to bugs, but I suppose since Creation Club is meant to be a big earner for them they might keep on top of things.

Off the top of my head, I'm envious of most Nintendo exclusives. BotW looks great.

People called Valve scummy for Paid Mods 1.0, but the fact that they discontinued it after a few days even with the amount of work it took to implement it showed that Valve isn't nearly as scummy as most game companies.

My experience with consoles is mostly with Playstation - from the original to 3 - and very little of 4.
I can say for sure that some of the best, most original, audacious and inventive games were released for those consoles - more often than not those were games of Japanese production which didn't always reach Western audience in time to become anything more but sleeper hits, or remained relatively obscure.
Most of these games I've talking about were never marketed as "console exclusive" to try to bring PC audience closer to them (unlike, say, God of War series for PS or Halo for XBox) or had aggressive marketing of any sort, so depending on how knowledgeable you are about console gaming, it is quite possible you have never heard of them, or at least have not played them.
