Fallout 4 DLC revealed

It really sucks for me because when I load up Fallout 4 and everything is ready to go, the game world looks as I wanted in the new Fallout game - the exploration, scenery, and game world are all there. The sights, sounds, ambience - it's all there. I mean you look at the still shot and think "WOW....just WOW." Bethesda makes some of the best game worlds in the business and is now putting the most dumbed down, childish games inside of them. They need to just make the game world look pretty and let someone else handle everything else at this point, but instead we're probably going further down this dumbing down path until Fallout 6 is more shallow than Call of Duty.

And then I start playing and its KILL LOOT RETURN and you can't F***ing talk to anybody, and the few who do talk you get this F***ing dialogue wheel that makes your badly voice acted male character say something completely opposite of "sarcastic" so you switch to the female character only to realize it doesn't matter because its still KILL LOOT RETURN and "YES, NO, SARCASTIC, HATE DIALOGUE."

Then you run into characters who are so stereotypical they can be described in one word or sentence. Theres:
1) Drunk Irish barfighter Stereotype
2) 1950s detective
3) Snoopy wisecracking reporter
4) Hates synths/loves Brotherhood guy
5) Loves Minutemen guy
6) French accent
7) English Butler says 1000 names
8) Mayor Macready from Little Lamplight (yes it's the same character all grown up) - compare dialogue with him in Fallout 3 to Fallout 4 and the dumbing down is undeniable.

The looting is great now because all those ridiculous coffee cups and forks and shite actually have a purpose with crafting, and yet you have no hardcore survival mode where food/water/rads etc. matter. And blah blah blah long story short Fallout 4 is disappointment in case any of you didn't realize yet.

Then when you think it can only get better, they charge 15 dollars for 2 paid mods that are probably already on the Nexus in some form all while CD Projekt Red is giving out free quest and add-on DLC.

Far Harbor DLC description in the DLCs announcement page says:
A new case from Valentine’s Detective Agency leads you on a search for a young woman and a secret colony of synths. Travel off the coast of Maine to the mysterious island of Far Harbor, where higher levels of radiation have created a more feral world.

So what happens if we don't want to deal with Valentine's detective agency? I guess we are forced to do it... Not like in Fallout 3 or NV where we could just stumble upon something while exploring or by listening to radio signals that would just lead us to the DLCs... We have now to deal with Valentine's Detective Agency which shows they still keep forcing us to "follow a story" even on the DLCs.

And about that higher levels of radiation have created a more feral world... Zombie DLC... erm I mean Feral Ghouls everywhere? when it is not ferals then it is synths? maybe they will make it possible to see that synths can be nice and that the community there just want to be left alone and live their artificial lives in peace, now that would be a genius story from Bethesda. (Sarcastic)

Those fanboys that defend Bethesda are really really stupid, I already knew about it but now they just prove that no matter what Bethesda shits as DLC they will consume and ask for more, no matter what it is and how much it costs... Also I don't recall any company increasing a season pass price ever... that is the point of a frikin season pass, you get all the stuff cheap, no matter if they release more than they originally planned, you still get it for the price you paid... Now this Oh we will release more stuff than we thought or maybe we just decided to increase the price of the stuff we will release so please smile and pay us more for a season pass in the future .

The average video game consumer these days has no brain also these are the people that would go to a proper restaurant and order a mcdonalds cheeseburger and get offended and make a scene if the restaurant told them that they don't have that food and the customer needs to go to an actual McDonalds... They complain about any product or service that do not do what they want but consume anything a big game company throws their way.
We're in the 21st century and no wonder we still don't have hover cars... with most of the population of this planet being dumb as fuck, some even still believe Earth is flat, others make movements against vaccinating babies and kids, some make protests against evolution being taught in school, gah... Ship them all to Mars I say...

Sorry I ranted too much but stupidity annoys me a lot and I just can't take it anymore :wall:

Call me a conspiracy theorist or a nutjob, whatever, I care not. I strongly believe the majority of mainstream media is designed to make people thoughtless idiots. To get them to gobble up any detritus they are fed by cheap corporations in order to diminish the perception of what real quality products are over time, soon they will think that a cheap-ass water cracker is like a 3-course banquet.

Next time you are watching TV or a movie or any other form of modern media, pay attention to anything that tries to sway your opinion on something one way or another. It's called propaganda. Once you do spot it, you will see it more and more and more in everyday life.

I literally have not watched TV programming [purposefully] for at least 3 years, and I have never felt smarter or more free. Sometimes I would catch some by accident, in public, at a friends house, and the crap they put on the airwaves these days really makes me cringe and feel physically sick.

As do a lot of the games coming out these days, FO4 made me sick to my stomach after a few hours, not because of vertigo or something like that but because I felt they were trying to subliminally sway my opinion [mainly regarding"war"] - Try skipping the intro to FO4, OK then, next words out of the speakers are "WAR NEVER CHANGES" by the male protagonist. He leans in towards the 'camera' and looks you in the eye and says in an entrancing voice "War never changes." Then the female comes in and starts ordering him around. That did it for me.

Buy, buy, buy, my new DLC
Buy, buy, buy, send more money
Fuck you, buddy.

\Advertising by its very nature is propaganda designed to manipulate you into wasting money on things you would have otherwise never bought. The internet is so full of it that Adblockers are the most popular browser extensions.

I almost feel cheated or manipulated into buying Fallout 4 because I assumed it would be AT LEAST as deep of an RPG as Fallout 3. I was only expecting AT LEAST Fallout 3's level of depth and dialogue. Instead I got Far Cry/Borderlands level of RPG and dialogue. Even the upgrade system now resembles Far Cry.

There is simply no mod or official patch that can help the dialogue system in this game. It is forever tainted by it. It will therefore NEVER be an RPG again.

I agree - but I also think it's permeating more and more from sources that are not advertising the sale of a product. The way the male protag in FO4 says "War never changes" - I think it's insidious - OF COURSE WAR CAN CHANGE/END!!! - it's the corrupt governments and corporations that want wars to be neverending because they become more powerful and have increased "cash wealth". The same corporations that own a company, that owns a company, that owns a company, that owns a company called Bethesda Game Studios [for example]. You can trace the ownership of these corporations all the way back to about 100 people worldwide [maybe less], who, funnily enough, also own all the TV networks, all the radio stations, all the newspapers and magazines and all the major internet sites.

Right?! It's like paying for a Ferrari and being delivered a MINI MOKE with a fake stallion badge on the seat. If all people ever get to drive in their lives are Mini Mokes [Fallout 4's], then they would not have ANY idea of how much quality is in a Ferrari [Witcher 3].

I didn't actually consider that. Good observation. That means you have to start the main quest up to that point. Bottleneck the gamer into doing the main quest. "Play it how you want?" Pffff.

I would rather you continued ranting. It is good to keep my sanity in check.

Not to brag, but I haven't watched T.V. since 1999, same reasons as you.

I also found this on the "Official" Fallout 4 forum which sort of infuriated me:

The fuck is this guy going on about?

"The map is 1 million times better than FNV's vanilla map"

"The map is 1 million times better than FNV's vanilla map"

This reason right here is just one of many that made me jump ship from that place. These simple minded people will make up some kind of delusional reason to love bethesda. They just open that ass up wide and Beth bends them over the table.
They have no idea what a good game is and continue to deny it because Fallout 4 is THE game.

While it has been quite sometime since I touched either Far Cry or Borderland I would venture to say that both those games are deeper RPGs than F4, now the dialogue might not be but that is another story. Now again I haven't played either game for years so I'm not entirely sure.

I agree nothing will help this game dialogue wise, complete and utter trash. It attempts be like Bioware's system but fails on all accounts. I fear this game will have echoing effects on the game industry because of it's selling success.

As bad as DLC is (knowing that it's part of a game they cut out to sell to you at a later date), at least we're not the ones spending untold amounts of money on FIFA DLC or any other EA sports game DLC

No but dumbfucks are while defending Bethesda's DLC decisions.

Unfortunately the dumbfucks outnumber us (but don't tell them that, the minute they learn to count we're doomed)
We were always outnumbered I would have to assume. It was rigged from the start.
They'll eventually come around once realization sets in and they somehow can pull their heads out of the nether regions of their asses then they'll revolt and attack like monkeys throwing feces!

They'll probably start by throwing faeces ................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................ come to think of it, I don't think they've ever stopped throwing faeces

God I hated that DLC. Why the hell did you need to get a lobotomy in order to infiltrate the tribal base? I mean these tribals had their brains cut up, they shouldn't be that hard to trick. For fuck sakes my for year old cousin can trick those clowns!

You are forgetting that if we passed a skill check or managed to sneak our way in that we would be deprived of a piece of interesting atmospheric story telling. (okay the hallucination was pretty weird and quite unexpected).
Still this should have been one of the ways to get into that church, perhaps resulting in a temporary -1 Intelligence skill point until we got ourselves fixed up through a doctor or an auto doc. (had Bethesda done that some of us might actually have been impressed. Wow, a penalty for taking the most easiest route to get in)

Then I had to get my brain mutilated and have an acid trip during which the game insulted me repeatedly for doing things it had forced me to do through lack of choice. That DLC was basically a series of middle fingers. Fuck Bethesda.

True :(
Mocking the player a bit for this choice would have been understandable if it had been in the context of what I just mentioned (You take the easy/obvious route), but basically the player is forced to do this and is laughed at for being forced to go through the hoops that have been set up in front of him/her.

i don't agree, adverts are not propaganda, and propaganda is not used too make you waste money, but to make you think different and manipulate you (those are annoying adds just makes me hate their product).
i''ve addblock too,but i not use it on every add. some small sites needs advertising in order to survive.

Agreed, there are plenty ads on youtube, I don't immediately rush out and buy what I've just seen when I try to watch a video. Yes adblocker are there to hold back the wave of ads on the net, but there is no need unless they are pop-ups and they're happing all the time you are online

You're right that many sites need advertising revenue to survive, and therefore advertising isn't all bad, however the distinction you make between marketing and propaganda is tenuous. Marketing campaigns are definitely designed to manipulate the way people think about a product. No one in marketing would deny it. It's better to be aware of this.

Ads keep youtube subscription free, not always a bad thing.

yes, technically you're right, but use money and skill to sell yout products it's the essence of commerce. propaganda is used by governments to bend minds. markething tries to manipulate the way you think about a product (or make you an idea, maybe a fake one,of product you didn't know). propaganda tries to manipulate the way you think about your life and the state of society you live in.
