Fallout 4 DLC revealed

Im still trying to figure out if they really think "Raiders" was a good example of a CREATURE that one would want to capture and tame like some sort of pokemon.

It all starts to make sense when you closely inspect their thought processes by taking the writing and design at face value.

You know, I can do the stuff their Automatron DLC does for free on New Vegas, it's called RobCo certified, I also have Robobrains in New vegas without paying any extra and I can make robots out of Coffee machines.

This announcement made me sick, not with joy. With disgust. Beth realized they can make shit loads of money off those poor saps known as console gamers waiting for those precious mods that will be out of their grips for so long they are having heart attacks just waiting for it. The first two are official mods, plain and simple. Far Harbor seems like a rehash of Point Lookout with a "LOOK BRANCHING STORY LINE, MORAL DILEMMAS, FUCKABLE SYNTHS!!!"

All in all the announcement is total and utter shit. I also like how they say "we know you are guys are loyal so we will bump the price up because you are so loyal and we love you" that, in my opinion, was a very shittily worded piece right there.

Well, now you know why they never ever, like never (!) release their construction kit/development tools right away with the release of the game. Even though I have ZERO(!) doubts that they could. I mean, why wait? What kind of changes do they have to do here that take almost half a year? None. There is really only one reason, for the most part. To make sure that they can sell their little gimicks, before to many of the mods come out.
And some people say, Beth is so mod friendly all about supporting the moding community. Nonsense. Look at Xcom, Epic games (at least in the past) and you know how a developer supports his moding community. I mean for fucks sake, the developers behind Unreal had their make something Unreal contest. The winner got full access to the licence of their engine, cash and PC hardware.

I would not be surprised if you see less and less mod support for future Bethesda games.

This looks like the first steps towards the second attempt at "Paid Mods."

this is so much dissapointing, skyrim dlc announcement was not underwhelming like this.

I think it is also worth mentioning the other big reason why it takes them so long to "test" the new G.E.C.K.
Like all the developer tools they shared in the past, they strip functions from it. They aren't building a kit for the community, they are dumbing down the features, some due to licensing, others due to potential conflicts that modders won't be concerned with. They are cutting content from it. When it is "safe" for general use they will release it, that and they want to cash in on mod author tier dlc first. They also have to patch the cut dlc content with their newest updates so that they are compatible.

Ask yourself, how long did it take them to make Fallout 4? How big is the world? How long did it take to make the Dragonborn DLC, how big is it? For something that size that they claim, it was already finished when they released Fallout in Beta (It's still beta) This time will be used to cut G.E.C.K. content and tools as well as patch the already finished mods... erm, DLC.

Well I was just starting to feel better from the worst stomach flu I ever had and now Bethesda has made me sick again with their DLC announcement. Thanks Bethesda!

1. Automantron DLC: Okay, from what I remember from Fallout 3 the Mechanist wasn't really a bad guy. He was just some odd ball that wanted to protect his town but now he is a evil bad guy? Nice rewrite and retcon their Beth! Didn't think we would remember did you. Also isn't this already a mod for NV and 4? So Beth is once again stealing ideas from free mods and charging gamers for it. Lovely.

2. Wasteland Workshop: Almost all of us predicted this one. We all knew Beth would release a DLC pack for their shitty settlement building system. This one isn't even worth my time.

3. Far(t) Harbor: You know, Bethesda has really started to make me detest Lovecraft. I can't read one of his stories without flying into a uncontrollable rage. In every one of their games and DLC they have to have something Lovecraft. The Dunwitch Buliding, Point Lookout, Dragonborn DLC, Cabot House and now Fart Harbor(Fuck it! I am calling it that!) I don't mind a little Easter Egg here and there but Bethesda wants to desperately make Lovecraftian magic and lore apart of the Fallout lore and canon and it just doesn't mix well. Also, really? A DLC about the two most hated and uninteresting factions in Fallout? Why? Why not new ones? Why must you expand garbage Beth?

Also does anybody else hate the DLC posters as much as I do? Remember how awesome and simple the posters for the NV DLC were (Dead Money being my favorite). Now we once again have more cheesy 50's shit. Enough with the fucking 50's Beth! God damn it!

I'll be honest, I'm not that familiar with Lovecraft, but I am curious to what reference Dragonborn DLC was based off of. This is interesting.

Anyone here experienced with RedKit? I own The Witcher 2 but I never got into modding it and was wondering if anyone here tried it or made any mods using it?

Now to keep the discussion on topic, Bethesda says that Far Harbor is the biggest landmass in any DLC ever? I bet it is big but most is water or empty space.

Oh, and I mean as far as we know there's no way to prove they didn't plan this ahead and even foreshadow it in the main game yet. Who knows, maybe they learned something from NV..

The Mechanist appeared in the Silver Shroud auditions during F4 if I remember correctly.

Dragonborn had Hermaeus Mora, who is basically 100% Lovecraft tentacle porn along with maddening forbidden ancient knowledge and so on.

Thank you, I feel a bit dumb for not knowing. I did some research on Shuma-Gorath just now and was able to make connections to the Shivering Isle DLC.

Shit! How could I forget the Shivering Isle DLC? That really brings more prescriptive in just how obsessed Beth is with Lovecraft. Just once I would like to see them NOT do a Lovecraft DLC or easter egg for their games.

Bethesda also revealed 110,000 lines of dialog in the game, more than any other Bethesda title before. More than Skyrim and F3 combined, if you believe their tweet. One has to wonder, where those lines are in the game? Sure not some quality dialog. And is it actually real content, or just inflated, because you have a voiced protagonist now. And since you need two voices, male and female, you can double that number again. And bam! You have suddenly more voices, compared to Skyrim and F3. But maybe even LESS dialog in the end ...

So I don't really give much into such marketing gimicks, like the largest landmass of any DLC. Neat. But that's hardly impressive thease days. Afterall, it's not about the quantity, but the quality of the content. Heh, Bethesda is making fast food games. So yeah, of course you're not getting a better meal, just a double cheese burger with triple meat instead of the normal one.
