Maybe it's self deprecating humor in reference to how crappy the skeleton/model bugs were in fallout 3.

That would take a grasp of actual humor, and the realization on their part that they are fallible, so I'm not going to put money on it, but it _could_ be an easter egg.

I hope so. Bethesda could actually make great open world games with the resources and popularity they have gained since Oblivion. Maybe they can start with the next TES game in 2017-18...

Given that a lot of the area is water the new map looks to be a little over the sizes of the Capital Wasteland.

Seeing that video with Piper fighting a Mutant and getting owned by a single one, and the other videos where Dog Meat just owns a bunch of them, I don't think you have much of an incentive to get the other companions. I'll see if I instead pick up Codsworth for my run, and then I'll open fire on the dog. Just to see what happens.
