Fallout license goes to...

Let's see what the next days will bring. If the news was correct, I'm sure someone from the former BIS staff will confirm it shortly. Maybe we will see another statement on the danish gamesnews website shortly. Has anyone an idea why the BIS guys are talking to a danish website and not to gamespot, gamespy or some of those sites?

Nope, and to tell you the truth that made me suspect too, and I'm kinda waiting for a confirmation or disconfirmation too.

We'll see.

I'll speculate that they are not going through Gamespy et al because theose sites have too cozy a relationship with the corporations. Interplay doens't want this info out, and thus are leaning on the press to keep it out of US circulation.

Fucking Interplay.

*nods*

No one has said anything about it not being true, so we must assume...innocent until proven guilty, right?

Ned Kelly? I never got why that guy was a considered a hero. He seemed to be a pretty bad guy....

It does look like there might be some hope down the road, by talking to a person from the dev team behind Fallout 3, I learned that they are trying to obtain the license to the game and continue the development.

If this was all that was said, then it could just be poor wording that implies falsely that they were trying to acquire the existing code. 'Continue the development' could also mean that they would use the license and create the game with new code with the same team.

I doubt that this really is a new development, and they are referring to that which we already know, which is that SSE might try to acquire the license if everything works out.

Also, judging from Carsten's surprise, I would guess that SSE, JE, and Puuk are not currently attempting to acquire what's left of the game code. Am I right?

Because he stood up to the police when they raped his sister. Then was hunted down by them for doing so. Remember, you guys actually had a war. We didn't, we just had isolated heros in our road to independance from the Imperial fist of 19th Century Britain.

Besides, in Australia we are all convicts anyway...

If you want a quick post on it, mail me the same info at kharn@nma-fallout.com, or use news@nma-fallout.com. Or pm me here. Well, you get it

We shall see, I guess. It would be good to have Josh Sawyer and Puuk on board this as well, as far as I'm aware everyone from BIS is interested in seeing the project go forward, it seems a bit fragmented at the moment, what with some BIS with Silverstyle's bid, some doing this..... perhaps there's a lot going on behind the scenes that we don't know about. My hopes are not being raised until I see something from a dev, though.

Ok, cheers

This explains one or two things, but you posted all the info out of it on your site, so there's no need for a seperate newspost. Ok, I see what you're saying now.

For our newsreaders: I can't say anything definite about this yet either. Let's wait for one of the BIS former devs to post about this and then we'll know where we stand. Don't draw any hasty conclusions 'till then, we're in the unclear.
