Games You're Looking Forward To

Found a game to look forward to - though it'll probably be another year or two till they're done with it. Still, this looks like all sorts of awesome:

pretty awesome yes. But I hope it will be a bit more then just a "shooter" with mecha look.

I mean such a game is simply screaming for something like armor values, penetration and such. I mean it has not to become a simulation of some sort. But a bit more complex then unreal tournament could not hurt either.

They said in an interview that it's gonna be just a shooter, not a sim. It's gonna play a tad different from a typical MP FPS (like no one-hit KO), but same basic idea. Here's the full presentation if you're interested: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ppGDwk_3FqA

I don't really see the point for armor values and such. Sure, nice from a concept point of view, but needlessly complicated and contributing little to gameplay. I can't say there's a significant difference between an armor system and simply adjusting damage values to reflect the same thing. Heavy mechs have more HP than light mechs etc.

didn't I said I don't want a "simulation" ?

Maybe something along the lines of World of Tanks or Men of War.

Those games have a bit more behind it then just health points and they are still "arcade".

It can work. It depends how much time you spend working on it. World of Tanks is using the informations about guns and armor values for their tanks to create a logical gameplay (NOT a simulation!).

A game with mechas simply screams for it in my eyes because well ... you obviously use armor. So for example laser weapons, plasma weapons and ballistic weapons (the usual "gun") could all have different characteristics and qualities on the battlefield not just the damage they do.

World of tanks actually managed to get this down pretty nicely where you have AP, APCR and HE rounds for guns. Each of them have different advantages and disadvantages.

I say it again. I do not aks for SIMULATION. Thats a whole different subject. But unreal-quacke-doom-shooter just with mechas is pretty uninpressive in my eyes. But thats just me. I start to get old for gaming anyway.

Only games I am really waiting for are Age of Decadence and Dead State. Rain Man's Olympus (the Fallout TC) sounds pretty promising aswell.

Yeah, Dead State and Olympus are going to be cool.
I hope I can muster up enough russian language skillz in case the translation takes longer than planned.

"Saints Row The Third", "Batman Arkham City", "Serious Sam 3".
Further down the line I'm very much looking forward to Larian's "Dragon Commander". Also the new "Stronghold" game. I'd love to look forward to Dead State and Age Of Decadence, but I won't for the sake of my sanity.

You can always look forward to Age of Decadence... sorry I mean you will always look forward to Age of Decadance. :V

So far I see generic FPS number 8 billion, with a mech skin.At least your health does not regenerate! :P (for now)

Looking forward to Ultimate Marvel vs. Capcom 3, maybe Battlefield 3, and possibly Skyrim.

While we are at it Halflife 3, Duke Nukem Begins, Operation: Raccoon City, and a couple more I can't remember. What is taking Valve so fucking long anyway? Episode 3 ? Anyone? I know they take long and the results are worth it, but give me a fucking break. Valve has the money and talent to push this stuff out a little quicker. Endrant.

Also looking forward to Tekken vs. Street Fighter. Nuff said.

I think I've heard about that game before. Seems to be pretty interesting. Anyway, still looking forward to The Darkness II, and of course...GTA V! Ohboyohboy...OH BOY! :D

Currently? Afterfall: InSanity. I know, weird, but after the demo I'm actually positively surprised.

Saints Row The Third (because I'm yet to purchase it)
GTA V
and I'm reluctantly waiting for Hitman Absolution.

Just stumbled upon this indie adventure game, 2d isometric camera and very pretty artwork.

Set up similar like Dead Space sans the aliens as far as I could see. Very promising, bookmarked. :)

Ugh I looked at the beautiful screens and just imagined what a real fallout 3 could have looked like...
