Games You're Looking Forward To

I'm waiting for the PC version of Assassin's Creed: Revelations. I was skeptic when Brotherhood was announced (sounded like milking the franchise), but after playing it I'm sure Revelations will be just as awesome.

EDIT: finished ACR a few weeks ago and it was pure awesome, just as expected. "No books... no wisdom... only you, fratello mio...".

Then a small wait until AC3.

Also, for a little latter, I'm expecting for Max Payne 3, Darksiders 2, Dawn of War 3, Diablo 3, GTA V (IF it's not a "San Andreas 2"), Borderlands 2, etc.

I think Revelations is (together with AC:Brotherhood) supposed to be Assassin's Creed 3. Isn't Rev. supposed to provide closure to Desmond's story?

I heard its about closing the stories of Altair and Ezio, not necessarily Desmond's.

[spoiler:57437b9246]In order to stop the coming doomsday, they may very well need to gather more data from other ancestors of Desmond, thus justifying more sessions in the Animus (he'll likely go nuts, tho).

Recent rumors from PS3 magazine, fed from some event/scene by the end of Revelations, say that AC3 will be in Egypt (I'm hoping it's during Napoleon's rule, but it may very well be in ancient ages).[/spoiler:57437b9246]

Currently? Afterfall: InSanity. I know, weird, but after the demo I'm actually positively surprised.

I haven't played the demo, but watched the video. Looks like a Dead Space clone, and I didn't like Dead Space...

Yup, 'I am Alive' might indeed turn out to be an interesting title.
It seems you can also use intimidation and bluff(e.g, pointing an empty gun at someone), aside from stealth kills and the direct approach which is awesome.

If the dust and fumes killed everyone why is everyone walking around without some form of respitory protection?
Looks cool though. Bow and arrow- best post apoc weapon.

But it's a western game about Muslims. It'll be about as knowledgeable about the area as Outsourced was about my people.

OT I am looking forward to Mass Effect 3. I love how you can import your old saves from the previous games so the entire Mass Effect trilogy has been me playing the exact same Anjali Shepard instead of (rather incongruously) recreating the exact same character every sequel. That and the fact that all the decisions carry over from the previous games too really fascinates me

I might wait for it to go on sale before buying it(I much preferred the more RPGish ME1 to ME2), but that is a massive selling point to me. They did a good job with the character import on ME2. I imagine having a NPC character die that could have still been a major companion in the next installment requires just a little bit of forethought and planning.

EDIT:
Ehh, worded kinda funky. Basically, I enjoyed Witcher 2's save game importation too, but it's a bit more shallow. ME2 actually let you interact throughout the game with the characters that you affected.

Witcher 2 spoiler:
[spoiler:ac9ad335c9]Foltest dies right away. You never see Adda again(even if you save her, a book later says you slayed her.) You get some very insignificant references of what you did here and there. They just dump some items on you and are like "Alright dood, good job!"
Better than nothing, I suppose, but they definitely kept their distance from the events in the first game.[/spoiler:ac9ad335c9]

There is rumor of a SMT game for PS3, but I am not sure if it's the fighting game or not. Even if it is, I might still buy it just because.

There are a few Tales games that are coming out for PS 3, but I haven't had the chance to play much of the series yet. The trailer was interesting since someone was able to afford BoA's songs in the sound track, but WHEN ARE THEY GOING TO LEARN TO LEAVE VOICE ACTING ALONE? Seriously, nothing breaks immersion more than crappy English voice acting. I don't care how good your translation is, most translated English dialogue suck and is performed by some guy's niece in the marketing department who wants to be a actress. Frankly, I think it's an ego thing. The "localization" (god, how I hate that word) team wants to put their "stamp" on it, so they can be seen as doing something other than slapping English words onto it.

So I have the Collector's edition of Star Wars The Old Republic waiting for me in the post office, I have early access to the game, but not got a computer good enough to actually run it on.

:(

So near, yet so far away.

Heh, I think I've heard you describe a similar situation for a few games now... Why do you insist on buying games you can't run, while you could save all that money, upgrade/buy a new rig and then buy the same games at lowered price since they're not brand-new any more...

He, he, I bought Deus Ex HR thinking my laptop could run it.

I preodrered this because I had some money at the time, my Sci Fi hunger was overwhelming, and my vision of my own gaming future was clouded.

A website claims my laptop can run it, but after DEHR faild to run I am not sure I believe that...

So Atlus sent an e-mail with a hint on their new game reveal, and it's the Letter G......GPersona? Ghin Megami Tensei? Shin MeGami tensei? SMT Guh? what could it be?
Right now I am looking forward to my CE of Catherine that must be comign my way right now.

I've always enjoyed the deliberate political incorrectness of the Postal games. Postal 3 is finally in stock at postalgames.com, but shipping costs a lot, even for UPS ground. It will be available on Steam, worldwide, on Dec. 20th. Finally, it's been 8 years since Postal 2.

I've just read that Alan Wake is coming for PC in 2012.
Fairly unfamiliar with the game, but I liked what I'd seen in some gaming magazines a while back when it was announced for consoles.

Anyone here played it? Impressions (without spoilers, please)?
It's coming for PC with all the DLCs, so it could be a good buy.

It's good (and has a lot of songs form the poets of the fall <3!) but not that scary. The story itself however, is done in a really cool way.
