You should, the whole teenager protagonists thing gets pretty deconstructed as they are indeed child soldiers and the layers of social warafare get much more focus, to the point where the current story arc hasn't had a single titan and is mostly centered around the civil war that has been going on since before the beginning of the series of which you only saw hints of at the beginning.
Also a lot of things about the nature of the entire setting of the series are slowly getting either explained or theorized upon within the show, the insanely tall walls, the origin of the titans, the many logical inconsistencies the official history taught to people has, etc.

Maybe Snap you should chill out and not take everything too seriously? But well, it doesn't surprise you can't even take such an obvious joke for what it is, even when I called myself "Hardcore as fuck and a rebel".
You are that kind of person who needs sarcasm explained, right?
And you're that kind of person who thinks sincerity is overrated and mental disabilities are cool to poke fun at, right? =P

Besides, "/sarcasm" is a THING because damn near EVERYBODY misses it in typed form.

Anywho... we had a damn fantastic conversation as a consequence of me not "chilling the fuck out", so maybe I shouldn't, hmm? Taking things for what they are and discussing them rather than making excuses is what leads to such enjoyable and enlightening discourses, after all. Not avoiding it.

I've had my irony fall dead several times in this forum.

For written irony and sarcasm to work, it needs to be _really_ obvious, as in
"War is good. SARCASM! ;D" ooor - the people involved need to know each others intimately.

The internet is full of people who say remarkably dumb stuff, and its easy to confuse stupid crap with parodies of stupid crap.

Also, few things are more annoying than explaining your own irony, since irony in the first place is a parody of something you approve less of - the result being someone ironically saying "war is good", coming off as an asshole, for then to desperately defend himself "nono, war is bad!" "then y u say is gude?" "cus i was being sarcastic!" "suuuuuuuuuuu-uuu-uuure you weeere ;'o"

and since none of us are perfect, the mistake of being sarcastically ironic is very easy to keep making

I think mental disabilities are cool to poke fun at? Do yoy have some form of aspergers or something? Because I wasn't making fun of that, I was just making fun of you for being unable to take an obvious joke.

I mean I am literary the first person to make fun of myself, if you think anyone would refer to themselves as "hardcore as fuck and a rebel" with an straight face, I don't wanna know what people you have interacted with for that phrase to sound perfectly genuine.

I think disabilities are ok to poke fun at. Either every joke is ok or nothing is. Though obviously nobody can stop someone from reaction however they want to react at a joke, especially one at their expense. The freedom to joke, freedom to be offended.

The same happened to me at least twice here. On the other hand, I'm dead serious only in 1/3 of my posts or such, so I'm guilty of doing those shenanigans too.

Yeah, it's only natural. That's why someone had to make repeated guidelines about it "don't use irony online! stop it!" cus it's such a quick thing to keep doing. I do it all the time, but luckily, most of the time people know I'm kidding. But every now and then I go somewhere not everyone knows me, and it's difficult to change old habits :D

A couple of months ago I found myself stressed over the fact that I couldn't find any work, now I am stressed because there is so much shit to do........

"Everything is okay or nothing is okay" refers to jokes for the sake of laughing at them. It's not a rule that applies to the more malicious type of humor, laughing at the cost of someone. You joke about homosexuality under the pretext that you're not assaulting it, you're treating it fairly just like any other subject. This is not the same thing as joking about homosexuality because you think it IS a joke and you're attacking it, humorously.

Obviously, it's partially upon the audience to determine how they react to it, but the intention of the delivery is also very important.

Anyway...

You said, verbatum, "I make a point of eating pork on the days 'you are not supposed to'", followed by talking about spending a day playing a game THEN followed by your "hardcore as feck" tail-end comment. So your "obvious" joke was not so obvious, because that's how language works... You can have a single, elongated, run-on sentence take on a variety of multiple, different tones and meanings. e.g. Beginning with a scathing criticism, then following up with a sarcastic joke ending in a question to illustrate the point of the criticism. The criticism wasn't sarcastic, although the illustrative joke at the end was. But I digress. Point being, you saying your joke was an obvious joke wasn't really so obvious.

And like I said and others have elaborated upon... things like sarcasm and irony are NOT so intrinsically apparent when your words are in text, without audio and facial cues.

Sleeping feels nice, also not eating sugar at 3am feels nice too.
If only this period of normalcy could last longer without me going broke would be awesome....

What is this "sugar" you regularly eat at 3am? Ice cream? Candy? Soda? Or do you LITERALLY eat spoons of sugar to satiate a sweet tooth?

Me? I'm getting into the habit of making oat meal for my breakfasts.... It's certainly not the most satisfying meal, but NOT eating meat for every course does help make the meals when I do eat meat feel that much more delightful!

I thought that Colombian people are chewing fresh Coca leaves all night long, that'd be much better for your health!

What's more fun than being paid to draw things that go into women's vaginas..... during Operations?
