It's the way of the genre to attract the worst fanbases. I'm just saying I saw more nice people in LoL than in DOTA, in which meeting anybody that wasn't a pixel-addled maniac was an even in itself. I got pretty bad feedback about HoN, so I never played it. I'm pretty casual when it comes to MOBAs anyway, just a couple of games from time to time. I'll definitely try out DOTA once (if? it's Valve after all) it comes out.
Don't give DotA 2 a try because it's Valve. Give DotA 2 a try because it's IceFrog. That man is THE reason DotA's interpretation of ARTS became a genre, and THE reason the bastards at Riot decided to invent their own genre and label it with the lamest acronym ever conceived.
Also you can't really say that DotA 2 HASN'T "come out" yet, because it's really only beta in name only. Yeah, you either have to "wait in line" to get in, or fork over $30 to skip the line and start playing now, but there's so many invites floating around, it really doesn't take long to get in. Granted, I'm not saying it ISN'T a barrier and I'm not blind that it isn't fully open, just saying it's not a true "closed beta" either. Not to mention the very nature of DotA is to forever be in a state of constant-progress. They'll wait a little while longer before they say it's finally "ready", but it'll always be changing, ever-so-slightly, on a regular basis. Always for the sake of perfection.
I play it very irregularly, where 3 times a day for more than 3 days a week is "high activity" for me, so not like your activity preference can't be accommodated by the present form of the game. =)

I guess I'm in the minority when I say I could give an honest shit about voice acting for quest mods in Bethesda games.
A talking head, here and there, is fine. The same basement dweller used for 3000 NPCs, like in the vanilla games, i'll pass.
Just making sure I'm not misinterpreting what you're saying... You mean you WOULD like to see such mods that actually provide colorful and distinct, well-acted voices to its added content? Or that the blandness of the base game's lack of variety has poisoned your desire to see ANY more voices added to it? I'm fairly certain the majority sides with the notion that "voices aren't important for the game, who cares about voices?" so it should be the former... But again, just making sure. <_<

Trying to stay awake through Little Big Planet. The story mode feels like a hipster-made platformer and the loose controls are driving me fucking nuts. I really hope it gets better because I don't think I'll like building shit with a playstation controller either.
Absolutely give it a chance. LBP was a title I picked up solely out of peer pressure and promises, and I felt let down at the start, as well. Yeah, the opening was cute, creative, and amusing, and the idea certainly seemed to have some promise. But it just didn't grab my attention like I thought I was promised it would, and I put it down after just a couple days. Then when I decided to dedicate myself to trophy hunting and I returned to LBP, after spending some quality time with it, and finally FINISHING the story, I was absolutely wowed. The platforming elements are top notch, the bosses range from mundane to quite thrillingly challenging, the mood is palpable, and as it's a PS3-exclusive, the visuals never disappoint. And that's not even saying anything of the user-made content! That game really provides INFINITE possibilities, and I had a blast making my own levels for a long time.
It takes some getting used to, but once you make it past that one and only genuine hurdle, it's nothing but awesome. And really, that's how all games used to be, "back in the day", and if it means reclaiming that sensation of playing a worthwhile title amidst a see of disappointing mediocrity at the cost of adjusting for a little while, then why the hell not??? That's an abysmally tiny price to pay for such an amazing ride! =D
