GTA V

SA was interesting, but I hated wielding dual weapons, if you turned the wrong way one gun would fire in the air and the other into the the ground. But i do love all the III-generation games (the ones on PSP were fun to play on car rides).

Can't wait for V, but I still need to play the DLC for IV.
 
San Andreas was probably the weakest of the lot, in my opinion. Shooting mechanics weren't great, and the map was simply too big and wide, so you spent too much time travelling. Plus the "RPG mechanics" were a bad idea too.

Vice City is probably the best of the 3rd-person era.

Also, gares, play Episodes from Liberty City NOW. They're both absolutely brilliant. Better than the main game in many ways, if smaller in scale obviously.
 
Yeah both episodes are more like old school expansion packs than modern DLC. Combined they have almost as much content as the base game. I hope R* keeps releasing this type of content in the future.

+1 Vice City had the best music (actually VC and SA are tied on this), the best story of the III-era, and all around the best characters. Rosenberg, Tommy, Love Fist. Now I didn't grow up in the 80's but I love parodies/homages of the time period.

and will do, when I get the time. Hopefully I can still buy them separately on disc (not in the mood to download)

Something amazing about GTA, a lot of people like it. And by a lot, I mean NMA and CoD fans.

It has the right formula that appeals to a wide audience. Casuals and hardcore gamers alike. That's probably the only reason why series remained so damn good. Long live GTA, I say.

There is no problem to like some arcade game that says to be "arcade".

I mean I like(ed) quake for what it was. A shooter.

A difference would it be with a game that claims to be the RPG of the century but its just a shooter in its core (Fallout 3 ...)
 
I won't play it before Red Dead Redemption. Port it or lose me, R*.

If it's gangsta like GTA:SA or latino like GayTony, I also won't play it. Lost&Damned was the only GTA4 expansion worth it's salt.

Vice City? Hell fucking yes.


@vulk: if FO3 was a half-decent shooter, I might have liked it. I didn't, it sucked at everything it did. The one reason I liked New Vegas a bit (just a bit) was because it's RPG side interested me for a little while; but it was just as crappy as FO3 in it's shooter side.

Just posting my opinion on the matter.

No, he doesn't play the games that are based around such Jokes. He doesn't seem to have anything against black people or latinos.

Speaking of which, all this GTA V excitement made me go and buy GTA IV Complete Edition. I had only played the main game before. Gotta give it another go together with the DLC's. There!!! Are you guys satisfied now?! :D

I always thought a GTA style game set in Mumbai would be pretty sweet
