GTA V

Judging from the date they put out the GTA IV trailer and the release date of the final product I'd say it'll be a good 2 years before V will be released, throw in another half to full year if they decide to make a PC version.

Out of all GTAs yet I had the most fun with SA. IV felt much more like a real life simulator with all the socializing bits.

Saints Row 2 on the other hand - while it stood no chance graphically and the PC port had glaring flaws I couldn't stop playing it with all the fun I had there, SR2 powertools and the Gentlemen of the Row mod helped with the performance issues quite a bit.

I'm really looking forward to Saints Row: The Third, it'll be a in-house job this time and Volition said it would not be a port but rather developed alongside the console versions.
They did a good job with their latest Red Faction game on the technical side for PC even though the game itself was rather mediocre.

Of course, inbetween cleaning my AK-47 and using it to kill baddies I lead a social life based on my phone and going to get some food with friends.

What I meant with that is that I was quite annoyed that the ingame phone rang everytime I was just not on a mission and of course on the other side of the map, especially later in the game when you have unlocked all city parts and acquainted more people.

Anybody know where it will be set?

I always thought a GTA style game set in Mumbai would be pretty sweet

Check out some of the links I've posted, I think it's definitely going to be their version of LA

Aww :(

ah well, maybe it will still be good

Hopefully they make it a bit more environmental similar to how battlefield 3 is. Like buildings which can take damage and things like that or they will have a hard time competing with the other games on the market.

What? Environmental destructibility has been around for years. GTA has way more going for it than just a stupid gimmick like that, it doesn't need it.

Damn, this sure will keep me busy until GTA V is out:

If it's gangsta like GTA:SA or latino like GayTony, I also won't play it. Lost&Damned was the only GTA4 expansion worth it's salt.

So basically you'll only play it if it's all about white people? Nice. Stay classy.

Way to distort another man's word, BN... you know I'm from Brazil and we're all a bit of every ethnics here.

Long story short, the problem is with gangsta style, not with afro-descendants. Also with central-american imigrant cliché, not with central-american people. Lost and Damned wan't nice due to proud white bikers, but for fitting Nicko's story and for the rock'n roll tunes.

No problem with a GTA Tokyo (asians everywhere) or GTA Rio de Janeiro either (afros, latins and the obvious favela cliché, which has been done to death on cinema/tv here, but not so much in games).

10 MINUTES!

PS: I would hope it was obvious I was kidding, Makenshi.

I'm excited! I just wonder if it's just a teaser or not and if they'll announce release date.

aaand "LA" it is. Good trailer, really showed the different environments well.

Man that server got kinda overloaded.

So, no release date. And back to San Andreas. Palm trees made me think and hope Vice City, best GTA ever, but instead we go back to the setting of the worst GTA ever.

I was like...

Beaches? Palm trees? OMFG YES VICE CITY.

And then...

Wait what's with these ghettos? And all these African gentlemen?

And then...

Vinewood?! FFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFF boner killed.

Yea, they totally fooled me too, wouldn't doubt it being intentional.

It also seems that the main character will be of Hispanic descent, which is fitting and expected, as they've done since gta3 at least british (i think)italian (i think), black, east european, asian. It seems a little forced but it's better than nothing.

He doesn't sound particularly hispanic, I mean not particularly pronounced, not like Niko or CJ were pronounced in their backgrounds. But eh, he sounds like a nice guy, so fine by me.

It's not nice to fool people on this topic because Vice City >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> Los Santos.

Looks awesome as expected.

that would be GTAIV.

Yeah, well, that's just, like, your opinion, man. GTA IV and EFLC are great.

Well, that's an interesting statement to make, too bad you're completely wrong.

GTA IV got way too much shit for having some poor mechanics (like getting phoned all the time) and not being as open-world as other GTAs, but it also boasted the best story and the design of the world and some missions was amazing.

San Andreas was way too large, had stupid-as-shit "RPG" mechanics, really awkward shooting mechanics (especially on PC) and really uninteresting characters.

Why not? It had tons of humor, dark social satire, typical GTA characters,... Not saying that your opinion is wrong (:)) ofc I just don't understand why so many people seem to feel that way about IV.
