Insane Steam Sale

It went down to five in a flash sale so now have both. Always liked the Y's games despite never playing one, they have a surprising amount of character.

I bought Sins of a Solar Empire Trinity for $10. Thankfully most of the indie games I've wanted over the past year have been made available through various Humble Bundle's so I won't be tempted by those.

I've spent so much money. You can get all the GTAs for 10 quid. I might have to log off for a few days because I don't even have the time to play the games I have.

I am but pissed off about the NV DLC, because NV Ultimate is cheaper than all the DLCs combined, and because I already own NV I can't buy the Ultimate edition.

Bought AssAssin's Creed: Revelations since this time around it doesn't utilize always-online DRM, only to be hindered from playing because I have to create a UPlay account and the server is down. :|

FIRST WORLD PROBLEM

Have you noticed 5€ worth of Eschalon books, guys? It's a top-notch oldschool RPG, I strongly recommend it for any oldtimer who haven't played it yet.

Some good sales in today's deals. Trine 2 for only 3 bucks, and M&B:With Fire and Sword for 2.50. Great deals. Saints Row 3 is nice for 7.50 too, I think.

Still not a ton of deals I'm interested in this sale. I picked up a few games for a couple of bucks, but I dunno. Somehow this sale seems weaker. Probably I already own way too many games, haha. But I did notice Amazon Digital had way better deals than Steam.

Steam is really starting to lag behind its competitors. I dunno how long they can keep up this sloppiness and not fall start losing their advantage.

yeah, but you know what's funny?

Origin-Chef David DeMartini somewhat explained how Valve is decreasing the intellectual property of goods with their steam sales.

Some time latter they sell some of their own games on Origin with 90% reduced prices.

I bought Max Payne 3, I couldn't resist. It's decent enough.

Well, what the hell does he know about games? After all he's just the chef*. :ugly:

*(Vuksplanation**)

**It's a new thing, I just made it up. Awesome, innit? Also, Crni: this is how you properly utilize footnotes...

***...while this is how you don't. Actually, you do it all the time, what I'm saying is: it's wrong. See, a footnote is rather useless if nobody knows what it's supposed to refer to.

Same here. I've still got dozens of games I picked up on earlier sales I still have to play... I've just started with Saints Row 2, for instance, while I already have that game sitting in my Steam library for over a year now. And I just picked up Saints Row III. I'm such an indulgent wastrel.

Fallout: New Vegas is on a flash sale for 5 euros for the next 9 hours, just in case someone still doesn't have it. Plus all its DLC are offered at a 75% discount.

I'm as anti-DLC as the next man but 11 euros for the entire DLC pack is quite the steal.

I've yet to play any of the newer fallout games out of loyalty to the older ones, but with the flash sale, I bought both + all dlc for 15 dollars. Will be interesting to finally see what casuals praise with these games.

Just bagged Fallout: NV Ultimate Edition for 9.99. Exactly how much I was ever willing to pay for it. Thank you fatty.

If you've played Oblivion or Skyrim you'll know. But it's basically being able to (sortof) go wherever you want and shoot who/whatever you want. Also buy things and play house.

that's not exactly fair to F:NV. yes, it has a lot of TES elements, but it's a rich story with an interesting world and a lot more choice and consequence than in those games. horrible engine aside, I think it's a lot closer to Fallout 2 than it is to TES or Fallout 3.

anyway, trying to jump on that offer and two others with only 2 h and 45 mins left, but I don't get a the fucking verification e-mail so I can log in on my account. tried over and over, sent a ticket even. still no code. getting seriously pissed off now.

I love TES games, even though I do realize that the series has been suffering from progressive alzheimer's, but I couldn't stomach Fallout 3. I don't know why I hated it as much as I did but I don't even understand how someone would release something like that and ask for $60 with a straight face. Maybe NV will seem decent because of the writing.

Try Fallout 3 by all means, I probably spent 100 hours on it. I think the introduction in the Vault is good and parts of the first city, but then I realize that there isn't much to do after that.

NV really only suffers due to being in the same engine as TES and Fallout 3, it's got generally great writing and does the best it could possibly be.

But You could always skip Fallout 3 all together and just focus on NV. The engine just isn't really suitable for ranged combat, which makes sense considering what Bethesda was doing before Fallout, and it's generally unavoidable in the game.

I only got From Dust, Lonesome Road/Courier Stash/Gunrunners arsenal.

Nothing else so far. But that is only because I own everything else already :)
I got Spec Ops, Darkness 2 and Binary Domain just few weeks ago on amazon, all steam versions.
I like that on amazon I can pay in dollars, not in god damn euros like on steam.

still can't log in to my steam account. ridiculous. anyone else had this problem?

I had to call a friend and have him purchase and gift the games for me.
