Introduce yourself! AKA the "Say hello" thread

Hey guys, i have been a fallout player since fallout 3 :D
i'm starting to build and style a road going car based on the game!

peace-

Hello, everyone. "Just a drifter, blew into town..." No, but really I'm just a guy who's been on a Fallout binge for the past couple of days and really needed an outlet. Playing by my lonesome has worn me down, and I couldn't find active forum roleplays of any kind. (Not counting the sites that force you to register before you can see so much as a rules topic, anyway, which give me the heebie-jeebies.) Even began cranking out a nation-based forum RPG of my own, but since I don't know anybody who would play it, work came to a halt. No point advertising it if you have no idea whether it's a solid game or not.

Anywho, I can own up to the fact that I started playing with FO3 (don't stone me) but I rapidly became a lore junkie, and never touched FO3 again after picking up New Vegas. Eventually FNV began wearing out, especially after pushing the boundaries of the console and such... non-responsive NCR trooper squad mates got mighty depressing after a while. So all in all I lean more towards the story side of things, not so much the gameplay.

Hopefully I can pitch in a little here and there, and if not, no harm done.

I still enjoy F3 from time to time as a change of pace, myself, but I have to say there's an odd-but-satisfying sort of kismet in the number of reformed F3 fans we seem to be attracting of late.

At any rate, welcome aboard, you lot! Glad to have you.

Hi everyone, i'm new here. just a regular fallout fan, favorites being FO2/NV. Seems like a nice community, and after reading a bunch of threads I thought I should join.

Didn't catch any mention of the "glittering gems of hatred" while you were observing, I take it? =D

Hello, I am ELIT3, from the dicksauce region, I am a registered sex offender, an alchoholic and I have "Raped 17 rats when he was 7" on my permanent record. I also have it on the back of my car. I also ate a car once. With a fork. The entire thing. Plastic fork. Under 27 minutes. I also ate the owner. I have a problem with my anus because it seems to shoot ass fire pellets out of it.

I like you already. Welcome and do pay a visit to the Order.

Hi.
I'm Justfordownload. Thought I'd be here just to, you know, download stuff like the Fallout 1/2 patches and maybe the Van Buren documents. Turned out I did all of these things months ago and am still here.
So now I'm an halfway active member and ... stuff. New Vegas and 1 are my favorites and I've been playing Fallout for more than a year now. It is an important part of my life and I really like to discuss about it with other people. Now I don't know what else to post and just add a few random emoticons.:roll::look::seriouslyno::sad::mad::twisted::twisted:
Yup. This sure was an emotional post.

Congratz. Anyone whose favorite FO is the first one is good in my book. There ain't many of us here. NMA has become dominated by people who either like Fallout 2 or 3 the best.

Roshambo inspires us all (who like the first FO, that is) to continue the legacy that was, and which shall be again. Look up some of his posts. Great arguments about why FO1 was the best, and I've never been able to disagree....

Any anyone who did try to disagree got crucified over the internet. Everyone else just waited till he was gone or created a new account once they were humiliated by him. In my opinion, Roshambo voices his opinion for all of us who are true Fallout fans. Thank god to the OG Fallout crew. If I had the money, I would reunite them all to make a new game, even though I know that in this fucked up world of gaming I probably wouldn't be able to turn a profit. But more importantly, I would be doing TRUE rpg fans a favor.

Change your name and take your pants off.
Now, that I'm no longer only here to download stuff, I might think about naming myself NOTJUSTFORDOWNLOAD or something creative like this. But I'd prefer to keep my pants on.

Yes, I already realized that the Fallout community mostly consists of Fallout 2 fans or Fallout New Vegas/3 fans and 1-fans are only relatively few, though their concentration on NMA is higher than elsewhere. But I gotta admit that I like 1 and New Vegas equally and just can't decide which of them I prefer. But maybe some of Roshambos arguments will change my mind. Or not. Anyway I'll check it out and try not to mess with him. And I also sometimes find myself thinking that I would use alot of money if I had, to buy the Fallout licence, team up InXile and Obsidian and just let them work and create the greatest, deepest RPG known to mankind, no matter how long it takes, how much it costs or how much money it brings. And at that point I usually realize that it's highly unlikely and will never happen. But in case I somehow get absurdely rich, I exactly know what to do. Until then I'll just keep on dreaming and support the few good RPG-studios that are still existent. And didn't you write a novel-version of Fallout 1? I would love to read it, but can't find it anywhere.

Roshambo left during the Great Schism.

Well, Chapter 3 is still a work in progress. I really should put the link back up in my sig, but here;

Yep. That's why I said people just waited till he left to come on the boards. I remember the account I had back in 07 I watched everything go down (including him leaving). Then, I lost my internet for a good few years. Back after he'd decided to take off the board's suddenly got a wave of new members. Once I came back though I found out that he's been gone for years (making a brief appearance in 08 I believe), in which I know I was still on here when he stopped posting, but I didn't think anything of it. I.e. I didn't think he took off for good. I thought I had missed the "Fuck You NMA, I'm Out" thread but there wasn't one. Dude up and just left. To bad he wasn't here to see the Great Forum Migration (even though there weren't many changes in appearances).

Hi, I'm Visajala, new here but have been Fallout fan for 5 years and will be forever, even if no next games are published. Fallout is really unique game, a world where you can just live, spending there hours and weeks. Never thought I could love anything "post-apocalyptic", as I find the whole theme completely repulsive and have no desire to read/watch/play anything like "The road" or "Metro-2033", not to mention the real life apoc (God forbid!), I'd kill myself at once. Fallout is an exclusion, maybe because it has a shade of a certain fabulousness, this world seems to be kinder, brighter, better than the real post-apoc might be. Where else can you see computers working without electricity, edible after 200 year food, clothes which make you stronger or smarter etc. etc. - its a fairytale! "Oblivion with guns" is the best description of Fallout3/NV and this indeed makes it the best game for me. TES-series are good, but too ancient and medieval, I prefer something more futuristic.
My first Fallout game was Fo3 and it's also my favorite game, not because New Vegas is worse - it's even better, but owing to my personal sympathies: Enclave (sideable due to mods), my dear President (just perfect!), my beloved August (though not agree with him), flock of ED-Es (coolest robots ever), lots of fantastic weapons and armors (shellproof or stealthy as you wish), interesting plot (I really think so), aliens (being an X-files fan appreciate it) and the world itself is very wide. What about Fo1 and 2 I cannot judge here, I haven't played this games, have only read the storyline and it is literally exciting.

Now I gave up gaming for a period of time, as I had procrastination issues and need to study and work hard now, no place for games in my schedule left. I'll return to Fallout games and modding after fixing things in my to-do list. This doesn't prevent joining fan-communities nevertheless. It's nice to see there are still many fans and community is alive!

I'm also a huge Harry Potter books and films fan:) Someone may recognize Slytherin emblem on my avatar. I'm not Voldemort supporter, but I like Slytherin faculty. Enclave in Fallout acts in a very slytherinish way to my mind.
My nick "Visajala" means "poisoned water" in Sanskrit. Recently I took interest in the Hinduism and its philosophy and found in the dictionary a fallout-style name proper to the Enclave supporter.

Welcome to the forum Visajala. You should give the first two games a whirl when you get some time.
