Lamest Legendary Item?

The whole legendary mechanic is bad in every possible part of it. You have random creatures with the prefix legendary, that just gives them more health and damage. When hurt enough they REFILL their health for no reason and then they drop a RANDOM item with a random ENCHANTMENT. There is nothing about this mechanic that makes any sense whatsoever.

How do Robots actually mutate though ... that's still something I don't get.

And it could have been easily avoided by just making it slightly different. Robots could run repair diagnostics or something like that. And you could simply call it an emergency repair protocoll, or what ever.

Just the term "legendary" is annoying. It's right from an Elder-Scroll type universe. Legendary. Legend!

What, the goddamn rolling pin is attached to LEGEND now?
And there's thousands of these dumb little legends in Boston alone, and then wtf is a legendary molerat? How does a molerat become the "stuff of legend"?
Legendary deathclaw, sure - ONE... a deathclaw - of legend

But ... but... how... does a molerat become a legend? It's just a molerat, hi, *shoot* gone, no more legend.

So much this.

The legendary radstag. Like it's a patronus out of Harry Potter or something.

I don't have screenshots, but I found two stupid things:

- Medic's pool cue. Cause you know, what better way to heal someone than bashing them on the head with a pool cue.
- Poisoner's missile launcher. I don't even get why that effect is applicable on something that will most likely blow the target to smithereens.

Those actually made me chuckle out loud...
Medic's pool cue...

I keep trying to picture practical use for it, and I keep giggling at the prospect... :D

I give up.

I thought a missile that could poison would win this, but the freezing flamer and the ghoulslayer gamma gun trump everything.

Looking forward to the next Elder Scrolls game, with swords that increase your attack range to 300 ft.

mustard gas missile maybe?

I've only got one Legendary item that I've ever used. It was an Explosive Sniper Rifle.. so not even all that good.
The most pathetic would be the 20~30 other Legendaries I got stored away in my Settlements..

Yeah I've really no luck getting anything good.

I'm amazed bethesda haven't introduced "machine-crossbows" into Elder Scrolls yet. A projectile weapon that definitely isn't a machine gun that can shoot several small arrowheads at once.

Pretty sure we'll see a repeating crossbow at some point.

(I know, that's not 'several at once').

Mind you, I would have loved some crossbow in FO4. That was back when I thought it was about survival with limited resources, hence a weapon like that could make sense. Then I was introduced to the Power Armor and the Fat Man at the beginning, and I realised why crossbows would be pointless.

I think BethSoft should give up and just make a Borderlands game. I know I'll have a lot of fun with F4, but it sounds more shoot n' loot than Fallout.

It's a great Borderlands game.

If Fallout 4 was titled Borderlands 3 I would give it 9.5/10 for being a tremendous improvement on previous titles, even though I think the Borderlands series is bad.

Actually Borderlands is a great example of why I dislike Fallout 4 - I wanted to love Borderlands so much as a Fallout-like RPG. Instead it's a shallow MMORPG grindfest. Bethesda for some reason thought it was a great idea to turn Fallout into that same kind of shallow grindfest.

Out of all the stupid and headshake-inducing ideas Bethesda had for this game, the legendary items must be one of the worst. I wouldn't have minded unique items with slightly better stats or unique functionality (within reason), but after seeing all these examples it honestly baffles me that this made it into the game. Bethesda does not cease to disappoint me.

I think the Flamer of Freezing (Freezing Flamer as it is called in-game) wins this thread so far, but please someone post more if they find something even dumber. This thread has some potential for greatness.
