Multiplayer portion of the demo is opened...

..And holy crap is it fun. Gears co-op has nothing on this. The pace is just perfect, not too fast not too slow, powers are firing around willy-nilly, enemies are challenging and interesting to fight, and random objectives spice up the rounds. Its an absolute blast; I doubted including MP before, but it fits into the main story and is really fun, so no problems anymore. Of course, only 2 maps are available so it gets a bit repetitive, and balance is a bit out of whack (Infiltrators absolitely rule), but it's a very satisfying experience, nothing like COD or it's ilk at all.

You know, the MP demo gave me much more disappointing of the ME3 SP demo and not because is Multiplayer.
Now you can call it "a demo", it shows very good what expect in the full game, how the power and weapons will work and how the mission or match will progress.

You don't have none of this in the SP demo.

That's awesome. I was trying to hold back my optimism for the multiplayer for fear of it being a COD clone but I'm excited to see how it weaves into the single player game.

Wished that Bioware took a cue from Eidos Montreal when they did their dialogue wheel equivalent in DX: HR.

I also wished that Bioware wasn't that in love with its Paragon/Renegade dichotomy. The nice thing about DA: O and Fallout: NV was that it took away the focus from the traditional "karma" or "alignment" system and centered "morality" on the personal or reputation basis. One of the biggest issues I had with ME2 was it actually punished players for taking an even-handed approach to dialogue, as improving your persuasion was dependent on how dedicated you were to one "alignment" over the other.

I would have also liked to see more opportunities to shake things up with the Paragon/Renegade system. For instance, maybe you could role-play a "Ruthless" background Shepard as a penitent character, someone who did what he or she did as a result of severe circumstances, and he or she in fact struggles with that mark on his or her past. It would be nice to see a greater emphasis on Shepard's own personal demons.

In fairness to Bioware, however, the Paragon/Renegade mechanic is lightyears better than FO3's karma system.

But FO3's karma system isn't a parameter for anything...

I tried the Xbox demo and it's kind of put me off getting the game. It looks dreadful, the art department have been allowed to run riot and everything looks too overwrought and fussy if you know what I mean. The animations haven't improved and yet again the gui has been changed for the worse.

It's weird, I'm actually more excited for the multiplayer portion of a Bioware than than for it's single player. Because it's proving to be really that damn good. The huge variety of playstyles coming from weapons, class and race combinations is mind-boggling. I can play carefully as a support attacker on my Quarian Enginner, than switch to my Krogan Soldier and bitch-slap fools into oblivion up close and personnal. Enemies are challenging and fun to fight without feeling unfair (except for the ninja bitches, you know who they are if you played, just screw them). Most players actually seem to know what they are doing. The scoring system emphasizes teamwork above whoever gets the most frags, the reward pool is shared and you get as much points for assists as for kills. I especially like the refined mechenics, such as the weight system; basically, each weapon has a set weight, which increases cooldown time for powers, so you choose between packing more heat and using powers more often. Since both are equally useful, it makes for interesting loadout dilemnas.

I'm no big fan of the upgrade system, however (you spend in-game Credits on packs that give random item. So you can get a very nice weapon or race/class combo or just the same crap you already got 5 times. Needsan option to unlock specific items for a higher price) and that's basically my only gripe. Oh yeah, and some connection issues. I played that demo longer than the multiplayer for any shooter save Team Fortress already, I think.

New trailer.
Pretty good, I like it. Some standard Shepard badassery there, but it's okay. Ashley's armor is great, and that's the important bit, glad it's not spandex or anything.
Only thing I don't like is the CGI girl. Filming a real girl would be a lot better, if you ask me, but on the other hand, wouldn't really do well with the rest of the trailer.

I'm honestly getting into this. I was planning on getting this game once the price drops, a year after release or so, same as I did with the previous two, but it has really started to grow on me in the last couple of days. Maybe I'll break the tradition...

I didn't like Shepard jumping at the Brute like that. You'e a soldier, not a Jedi, boy. But, same reason we see Dreadnaught-class warships in atmopshere even if they can't go there. It's a trailer.

What I'm really annoyed about is pulling the ''OMG innocent child gets killed!! Be sad NOW!'' card. It's cheap, manipulative, they used it twice and it needs to stop.

When?

It didn't really strike to me as anything sad or manipulative until you've pointed it out. It probably is like that, but I don't really care.
Shepard's jumping at brute is much more annoying to me.

Anyone play on Xbox?

Username= Mmm Cashews.

I'm a level 16 infiltrator I believe. I'm not playing too much because stats will be reset but it's still a ton of fun.

why should you people be spared from it ?

I am sure killus will approve!

*I guess not everything should be taken serious.

Oh for fuck's sake.

It was suspected for a time, now confirmed. There's a day 1 DLC called From Ashes that comes with the Collector's Edition, or for 10 bucks.

The content? A Prothean character. That was obviously cut from the game, as his voice files are in the demo and he is mentionned in every leaked script. Now, Bioware has already done Day 1 DLC, such as Warden's Keep for Origins, but that was only a short dungeon and a few items. And an annoying salesman in the camp too. This is a fucking Prothean, a race at the center of the serie's lore. And you have to shell 10 bucks to get this important part of the story. This is the worst thing coming from EA ever. I already disliked their DLC model, but it was mostly cosmetic stuff or unimportant items previously. A whole character? No sell. Hell, people who read all the leaked scripts say that his role was very big in the plot at first, and then it got severely cut. Now he is sold as DLC. Wonder why. TotalBiscuit explains it really well http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ri0vrJ-y2zM

So yeah, this is shit. I was going to buy the CE, but now I will probably just get the main game and get all the present and future DLCs... elsewhere. I won't cope up with that crap any longer, unless they reverse the decision. It happenned with Battlefield 3, so I guess it can happen again. Hopefully.

Day 1 character DLC was free, if I'm not wrong.

Regardless, none of the character DLCs in ME2 contained plot-essential figures. They were actually very poor, if you ask me.
This is a fucking Prothean. ME1 was basically just centered and based around them and their legacy, and now Bioware gives us a middle finger.

I honestly hope they change it. Lots of negative criticism is already coming their way. Maybe they'll come to senses, though I doubt it.

Apparently Bioware is trying to advertise their game via forcing the UK House of Commons to discuss the existence of aliens and UFOs by having 10,000 British citizens sign an e-petition on the UK's site for petitioning the gov't. I'm not fucking with you all. Would a man with an avatar of Vault Boy grasping a uterus lie to you? Just take a look at this.
