I just don't understand how the company who made Origins, one of my favorite RPGs, got so baaaaaad.

Origins stuck in development hell for five years and ME1 was in development since like early 2005 too. The times when the core team was still kicking, I presume.

That's one good thing about Obsidian. There may have been some slightly SJW moments like how women are actually the landowners and warriors in the Tiers while men are expected to be more relegated to staying at home, there's at least reasons for it and you can also just contribute it to the Tiers being backwards (thus why they're so fucking incompetent at rallying together and stopping Kyros). Or Eb being utterly sexist against men (and I mean that literally, that's not me just interpreting it, she has lines like "Women are the Braver Sex" and "This weapon is like nipples on men, useless) but you can kill her pretty early on in the game or insult her over her beliefs. Basically put there's ways to get around the SJW stuff or outright destroy/mock it.

There's also no romances ever. They've said themselves romance takes a LOT of development time to do well, time they just feel they don't have for something that may not even be good since they have no experience writing it.

Romances require excellent facial animations too. In the mean time, The Witcher 3 does all facial animations on the fly in-engine.

Well Obsidian and their writers are more subtle then Bioware. Another good example I would bring up is The Daughters of Hecate that where to appear in the sadly cancelled Van Buren. The Daughters were pretty much the female version of Caesar Legion. They were brutal, warlike, cruel, tribal and feared. I enjoyed reading the documents about them as they would have portrayed a female lead society differently then from what we usually seen which is a female society being the epitome of perfection and governance. This also leads me to believe that a faction like The Daughters of Hecate would never be implemented into a game with how the game industry is today. In Tryanny, with the women of the Tiers, it did show that women can be as sexist and incompetent as the men while also pleasing the SJW radfems with the "strong, independent women who don't need no man" troupe. It a having your cake and eating it too.

Like I said, Obsidian is more subtle and nuanced with their writing then Bioware and also unlike Bioware Obsidain doesn't let their politics interfere with the quality of their writing.

I've completely switched off with modern games, the only good ones are so far apart, and get so little publicity, its not funny.

Recently the ONLY game ads I have seen, is oversaturation of Teamfortress 3: Quest for More Money Blizzard Edition (Overwatch), and Deus Ex: Mankind's Wallet Divided.

From the trailer they have to slap you in the face and make it obvious that she's "Bubbly, goofy, and clumsy lol xD". She comes off as super extremely annoying.

However I get the feeling that EA wants to move away from marketing and making games with a heavy SocJus narrative as that didn't help in terms of sales for Dragon Age: Cisquisition and would explain why EA shut down the BSN. Bioware on the other hand would be more then happy to just make games for their small, perverted, SocJus audience with a heavy political and SocJus narrative because that's whats sells millions! I expect that this will be the final nail in Bioware's coffin and that once MEA doesn't sell well (Which we all know is going to happen. Hell I expect that MEA to sell less copies then DA:I) then EA will finally absorb and dismantle Bioware like they have with other studios of theirs in the past.

Yeah I think they will continue to cater to their "special" fanbase which made the "Tali's Sweat" thread which was in TL;DR terms, "Tali's sweat increases sexual performance and drive in partner due to chemicals in her sweat blah blah blah stupid shit". The cringe and stupidity was unbelievable. The ones who wrote that probably got off to it as they wrote that shit down.

Games nowadays sell to the most popular audience.

Regardless of whatever issues you have with MEA, most likely scenario is that it's going to do well, mostly because of the Triple A label. Best case scenario is that a handful of long-time fans become disillusioned, and adopt an even more cynical attitude towards the series.

there has been some serious downgrade in the quality of the faces. Seems they are trying too hard to be "realistic" but the just fall headfirst into uncanny valley, just like that reporter character they had in ME3 that was based on like some youtuber or something. All the goofy facial expressions just make the faces look even worse.

I haven't played the Mass Effect games though so I can't really say anything about them. I was planning to until I got spoiled for Mass Effect 3's ending and seeing how shit it was I just decided the series wasn't worth slogging through if that was going to be the end result. Is it still worth a shot if 3 is left out of the picture? I've heard 1 and 2 are amazing games and I know next to nothing about them save for a couple of cutscenes with asshole Reaper Sheppard.

ME3 is okay, it suffers from a rushed development, but I wouldn't say it's an awful game, it has its moments.

I found the ending to be blown way out of proportion, sure it sucked, but I saw the conclusion being the game as a whole.
You have to keep in mind Bioware wrote themselves into a wall, so there's a lot of stuff that sort of gets thrown away.

Also how they handle the antagonists is pretty shit.
But it does have a few good callbacks to earlier games which is pretty nice.
Go into ME3 for the journey, not destination.

Not really.

All they had to do was end the series in a way relevant to the plot. Doesn't seem that difficult if you ask me.

Had they just made Shepherd die, or the Reapers win or something, it would have been an ok ending.

They by no means had to write in a literal Deus Ex Machina in order to give you 3 completely ambiguous choices.

I don't know man. Did you see what happen to Visceral Games and the Dead Space series as well as Maxis and The Sims? Word is that EA canned the Dead Space series after Dead Space 3 did sell as well as EA was expecting. There is also word that The Sims 5 may not happen due to poor sales of The Sims 4 and it whether or not it will be made depends if The City Living pack sold well or not. Bad word of mouth in today's day in age has done at lot of damage to sales and with the bad word of mouth about Bioware and their unhinged SocJus politics, not to mention the testimonies of former employees over how bad of a company Bioware now is, I don't see ME:A selling too well. I predict it will have a good week or two in sales then quickly plummet in sales. Remember that EA wants a Skyrim which is something they have been chasing for a while now and I don't see this game making the type of money Skyrim made.
