Mass Effect Andromada: What we know so far

I'm starting to see a lot of the issues people have with Bioware now.
Jesus, way to alienate a large percentage of your fanbase.
No wonder I wasn't interested in anything post EA outside of the original Dragon Age and Mass Effect trilogy.

I also just found out that all the founding members have left, while one left pretty early on, the other two "retired" from Bioware in 2012, I find it odd that two founding members of a pretty successful Company at that time "retired" but I guess they jumped out a sinking ship.
What shocked me the most was how people who worked there for over 5 years left citing that Bioware has become toxic and "a shell of its former self". Gee, I wonder what could have caused that?

Gannon would have been your typical gay love interest - of course, but who was to shy to admit his love to you, unless you had some convoluted long plot with thousands of dialogues where you both explain your love to each other.
Cassidy, would have been your foul mouth, drinker-looser type of character that got banned from her tribe/organisation/what-ever and the player was there to give her salvation, after a long plot with thousands of dialogues where you explain her the true meaning of live or something.
Lilly would have been some evil super mutant, turned not so evil, following the player or betraying her former 'master' - the games main villain, because the player managed to beat her, but spared her live - choices! yaaay! Now she constantly belittles the player on how shitty he is for not doing the evil stuff, but says that she will still follow, cuz the player earned her respect. Oh, and after a long plot with thousands of dialogues, she will explain to the player all her evil ways and what it means to be an evil Super Mutant, doing evil stuff and such.
Boone would be the old, whise but super grumpy father/mentor type of guy with either a super sad or long and tragic backstory, that is kind of an asshole to the player and criticising him at every turn, but in the end telling him that when the time comes, he will have to make the tough choices! And yeah, after a long plot with thousands of dialogues, he will explain his whole back story to the player.
Ah, and Veronica, would be simply a whiny bitch with a hot booty for the player to fuck around with. Also the lesbian love interest of course. After a long plot with thousands of ...

Why do I get the strong feeling I've seen these cliches in KOTOR 1, KOTOR 2 and pretty much every bioware game to date. Jesus Christ, they show pretty much no imagination.

I am a little more lenient towards Mass Effect because I have never considered them RPGs. They barely qualify in my opinion.

Top Hats and Champagne has a lot of links in his video description.

What a bunch of cunts. I called Patrick a scumbag and he had me banned on Twitter.

"I have a problem with it but say no to hide how I really feel so I don't look bad and then block you because my safe space echo chamber won't be as safe until I do this.". What a fucking cuck, once people like that stay out of the loop for everything going on in the real world and not their circle jerk safe space for a good long while once they see what's really going on in reality it'll hit them like a bag of bricks. Of course they already proved that recently.

Is it just me or does that nose on the female playable character look fucking awful, the shape of that nose looks like it was either broken or a birth defect. That's one of the first things I look at on her face besides the ugly contorted expressions they make.

I think Mass Effect 1 was the point where they started to go into the shitter.

The new ancient looming evil force bullshit made me laugh, it's like they don't understand why it didn't happen to work the first time. They try to do it on this huge scale when they clearly don't know what they're doing and then they try to over simplify why this or that is happening, not everything has to be about saving the world which gets really old fast but originality is hard to come by anymore. If H. P. Lovecraft explained every single little things in his stories like how Bioware gave their explanation for the reapers(which probably would've worked better as a force from the unknown with no explanation behind it's origins) they wouldn't be as good. I do look forward to seeing the Codex tearing it apart once it releases.

KOTOR 2 was made by Obsidian you fucking plebeian get it right REEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE

On that note, KOTOR 2 is a pretty damn good game and I'm not really even that much into Star Wars nowadays (especially after Episode 7's cringe) Maybe I should pick up the original at some point, but it's Bioware so idk.. It's OLD Bioware though.. Consensus?

All Patrick and his wife(Did I forget to leave out that they are both raging radical feminist and are big supporters of Feminist Frequency and that Patrick believes in the word "mansplaining"? What beta cuck!) do all day on Twitter is promote radical feminism, SocJus and harass right wingers and those that call out their bullshit. But the best is that Patrick had the FUCKING GALL to say on Twitter that he "was a victim" because he and his domineering wife were getting death threats! Oh the humanity!:twitch: You know what Patty maybe if you and your attention whore of a wife didn't belittle, harass, demean and ban people who have different views then yours you wouldn't be in the predicament you are in. You have no one to blame but yourself Patrick you nu-male cuck! You deserve everything bad that will hopefully happen to you and your wife Patrick! - Rant off

I do look forward to seeing the Codex tearing it apart once it releases.
Same here! The Codex review of Cisquisition was the funniest and most insightful review I read next to their Fallout 4 review. http://www.rpgcodex.net/content.php?id=9752
Hell I think the word Cisquisition came from the Codex. Want to trigger Biodrones to maximum butturt? Call Inquisition Cisquisition. The massive amount of threats you receive and butthurt Biodrones get is hilarious!

I know that right, though it doesn't really save them from those cliches... KOTOR 2 is fucking fantastic. Get it, just get it. It really deconstructs the dark side and white side argument really well.

That is because KOTOR 2 was made by Obsidian. Bioware just takes the credit for Obsidian's work like Bethesda does as Bioware's writing is and will always be sub par compared to Obsidian's writing.

I know, but we shouldn't assume a game is good because it was made by a good company. KOTOR isn't good because Obsidian made it, it's good because it has a great story.

It's essentially a story akin to an Original Trilogy story. If you don't really like the Star Wars Original Trilogy, then KOTOR 1 is not going to change that. Same black and white morality, same story structures, same cardboard cutout characters. It's alright as a game at least.

KOTOR 2 is the deconstruction that fixes all that. Replaying both, I found KOTOR 1 to be less enjoyable than I recall while KOTOR 2 remained just as good (if not better since I can fully comprehend the game since the patches and mods wound up fixing the bugs in my version - the one that causes every cut-scene to fast-forward).

EDIT:

Written by good writers in Obsidian (though one of them is no longer with them). On that note, I like how Chris Avellone actually took time to view every Star Wars related media in order to find themes and issues he can deconstruct and point out regarding that universe.

Turns out .... the prophecy was ... true in the end ...

Don't we live in a sad time, when action games are considered RPGs now?

I think people had issues with Bioware since ME2, ME3 only made it worse by not even having a proper ending (Which is shameful for an AAA+ game, which is the END OF A TRILOGY)
I always had the hope with ME3, that they really really just trolled their fans, like "hey! Let us make an ending that everyone hates, and then come around the corner with something awesome!". Like a metaphysical journey, of Shepard being indoctrinated or what ever, where the team behind ME3 later provided them with the real ending they intended. I think THIS would have been really playing around with games as interactive medium, blowing the mind of people.

But that would mean, they actually cared about offering something that was more then just selling a polished turd to the masses.

I hope they make the facial expressions like this:

That would be so funny if characters were making faces like that in say a sad scene or something. I just want to see this become the big trainwreck that it will be.

So the facial animations are "still being worked on" (i.e. "shit, we half-assed it and thought that would be fine").

That combined with the Bioware apologists comment posted earlier reminds of a certain Bethesda fanboy in here, who was actually arguing Dishonored 2 didn't have serious performance issues on release, then we just linked him to the official statement on the performance issues being acknowledged and worked on.

Was it me? I think it was me because I love Bethesda so fucking much. If TES 6 doesn't come out tomorrow I'm literally actually no joke going to $100% kill myself.

Oh yeah DH2 had performance issues when it came out no doubt. Still liked the game a lot because it was more or less what I liked before. That said trying to deny it is kind of retarded.

Also am I the only one here that mostly likes Bioware? Granted their RPG's (whether their games a roleplaying game and what is and what is not a RPG has been subject to vigorous and tiresome debate) are kind of shallow but I still enjoy them. Though I am somewhat concerned they might do what they did with Inquisition and MMO the shit out of Andromeda.

. Even Morrigan, despite being the antithesis of everything I believe to be good in the Dragon Age games is still a really interesting character. Who exactly do those 2 parallel?

I forgot, what was the issue with Morrigan again? Some kind of "I'm better than you" attitude but once you romance her, you make her into a little slut-puppy or something?
