What does the NCR do if you kill Cass?

If you solve Cass quest peacifully the NCR blackmail the Van Graffs.
If you sacrifice Cass the NCR accept bribe from the Van Graffs and make an alliance against Caesar.

Yes, there's other ways to resolve the quest, but the point is that NCR isn't soft or whatever in the game, you have to make very hard and difficult decisions when fighting for them.

I just blakmailed them then killed them... sorry Nev Vegas is frontier city and lives acording to frontier justice. NCR is possesing lot of characters you can simpathise, but they're quite low in status, brahmin barones like Heck Gunderson or Westin from F02 are another story. Just like in real country which is forte of NCR. BTW They did kicked ass of BOS and Enclave (becouse they can mobilise much larger force) and won't pay their citizens welfare checks for being lazy bums or acept imigrants from hostile cultures. Liberal and multicultist? They're growing like USA in XIXc maybe they'll become soft and decadent in F04.

But then I can say the same about the Legion, right? When you trick Arcade for joinning the Remnants and make them support the Legion, one of your justifications for that is the people of New Vegas is a necessary sacrifice to bring order to the region.

Selling out your citizens is soft to. I strong society would avenge tenfold any attack on their countrymen. Craig Boone was the ultimate victim of the NCR, if he was with the Legion he would be a hero instead of a burn, and if anyone messed with his wife they would have been nailed to a cross.

Destroyed. I mean honestly my dream for this game was being able to play as the enclave. I mean i have to say its just painfull as an american to have game set in a world where my side are hunted down like animals. If its brotherhood, i can kind of live with it because they seem to be worthy of some respect, but not by douches like the NCR (Northamerican Communist Republic), and what the fuck is with the cowboy shit, that was'nt in fallout 2. I mean i want to kill the mofo's like dawgs and shove and american flag up the ass of a ncr ranger while singing the national anthem.

Yeah but look at it from this side. Brotherhood brings old world culture with them as does Enclave too so they already passed that evolving stadium.
NCR did not, they know about WW3 but that's just it, everything else is mostly new to them and they are making newer history with them and making the same mistakes the world before did. They are the youngest society there.
And so is US in real world, they have the youngest history. China dates 5000bc, Egypt and Mesopotamia almost the same, Europe after them. Maybe they were going by that fact i dunno, but it would be really cool to play as Enclave now because it was very fun with BoS in Tactics.

You don't like the NCR, fine. But for fucks sake, stop calling them communist. Their goverment is nothing like Communism or even slightly socialist. People can vote for their candidate in elections, the NCR don't nationalise anything. It may annex anybody regardless of their opinion, but thats more facist than communist.

You do realize that the Enclave is not America, but rather the descendants of rich pre-War bastards from Poseidon Oil and a select few government officials, who hid in secure locations as millions of Americans died in nuclear fire and the chaos that followed, right?

That's actually pretty funny. I don't mind fighting the enclave but theirs something painfull about seeing the us gov in hiding like the leaders of nazi germany. I guess I don't find the brotherhood hunting them so much because they have a connection with pre war america. I don't see how the NCR are the hiers to the US besides the fact that they have president, but then again so does agentina, I thnk thier about as american as the legion are roman.

Enclave is more tactic and brains and power armors.

Again, the Enclave is not the US government. The Enclave is a cabal of wealthy businessmen and select US officials.

The United States ceased to exist on 23rd October, 2077. Whatever happens on the continent after that date is a completely new history, a new civilization, born out of the ashes of a failed ideology and a failed country.

As such, there cannot be heirs to the US, since it did not survive the war.

I don't understand your reasoning, really. It's not like after the war the US was deserted and the canadians and mexicans swarmed in and claimed the land as their own. The NCR is a republic made by descendents of american citinzens, why shoulnd't they be considered the heirs of the US?

Meanwhile the Enclave are (were) the descendents of the pre-war government that fled the country leaving their citizens to survive on their own, coming back more than a century later to reclaim a land they abandoned. How can you consider them to be the heir of the US?

I don't see how, the Enclave and the Brotherhood seem closer in that they have and value technology. The NCR are downright primitive and backward to the existence that their using cows and oxen to plow fields, and even have sharecroppers who are pretty much slaves.

I don't understand your reasoning. The sharecorppers made a deal with them, they are not forced to stay in Vegas and can return to California any time they want.
Of course they stay because is better.

The NCR do not force you to help them, you are given a choice, unlike the BoS and Enclave, who give you a choice to cooperate or die.

I'm not the biggest fan of the NCR, but they aren't the worst choice available.
The BoS and Enclave certainly are.
