Prepare For the Future site updated

I'm starting to think that FO3 might actually turn out to be a great game.

Convincing people of this via meaningless PR sites like this one is exactly why Bethesda spends so much money on PR.

And you fell for it, alec. If a smart guy like you can be wavered by marketing dollars, imagine how easy it is to push the masses.

Now you made me feel stupid.

You are such an evil <strike>man</strike> boy, BN. :naughty:

Yes, but Anani Masu asked why it doesn't make sense, and I answered him. It being in Fallout 1's intro does not make it make sense.

I was never saying I had a problem with it, just that if you think about it the name doesn't make a lot of sense.

It doesn't make any less sense than Nuka-Cola.

Actually, I don't think I've ever seen Bethesda try so hard in their entire company lifetime as they have been pushing advertising for Fallout 3...

It makes you wonder if the PR campaign alone might bankrupt them?

Unless you figure soft drinks often have names associated with pop, zing, power, energy, whatever.

Eh. The Oblivion campaign was fairly intense, too. But yeah, their PR budget is pretty big. Probably bigger than their animation department budget.

I was studying the jumping animation the other day, there is no "start the jump" animation, but there is a landing animation. I wonder why they didn't reverse that animation and use it for the start of the jump? Seems pretty simple to me as they could do this and slow down the jump for a moment and it would seem more realistic.

If they improve the jumping animation then they could let their NPC's use it as well.

First people argue that there isn't enough things from the Original.

Now people argue that since there is one thing from the original, it is out of place there too?

AHHHH! *Stroke*

Is it just me or does it not make sense to have the Vault-Tec logo on the part about the mutated creatures. Didn't they mutate after the united states experienced an extreme case of clusterfuck-itis? Somehow vault-tec is still around and feeding vault 101 the information about the new world that they know nothing about? Wouldn't it make more sense if they had it done by someone in megaton. I find it weird having people know the future.

Yes, don't you hate it when people apply logic rather than just following one simple pre-set line?

But please, continue in the view that the attitude towards the originals supersedes logic. Nothing like the normal slobber-troupe for that.

Look at it this way: the sex cards in the Witcher are in keeping with the sexist attitude of the original books and hence they're fine for the game. That doesn't mean they're not stupid.

So although it's a part of the original setting and as such forms it, it doesn't fit in the (original) Fallout vibe for some reason? It seems you have an oxymoron there.
Not necessarily. For example, the ewoks in Episode VI of Star Wars. I always felt they were unnecessary, and didn't fit into the whole setting or "vibe" of the original Star Wars movies at all.

Wouldn't in that case New Hope be the original setting and not the rest of the old trilogy? I was talking about the single, original source of setting(s) here.

I thought it was put in there for the kids who want to see tits?

I like it. Some of them fall a bit short, but overall, I like them.

Number 9 was a complete waste of time, though. >_>

The books are not sexist.

Nuclear catapult :tired:

This is getting ridicolous, that "nuke" is weaker than a hand grenade.

oh christ... they even made Brahmin into an evil critter...

its something i dont like in games... whatever wildlife can be found is agressive and has nothing better to do than attack the player...
but well.. makes players feel important...

btw, if someone wants to say "hey, if you think you can do better, then do so!" i'd be pleased! (Me = AI (Game) Programmer)

That is something I hated in Oblivion. They have all sorts of shit attack you the second you leave the town. I couldn't walk for thirty seconds without some moronic encounter with a wolf, boar or bear. It made the traveling by foot annoying. Traveling on a slow horse was even worse as you couldn't outrun your adversaries. This meant having to dismount, kill and remount. A really annoying chore.

I don't think the Brahmin are hostile. They weren't like that in the previous games, and when the player shot at them using the Fatman they were eating the grass or what ever it was, and not attacking the PC.

Misogynist?

Oh my fucking god you have got to be kidding me.

About what?

Fallout approached this differently, with the guide being appended by the Overseer for the current status quo, but even so, "Science!" as a catch-all explanation still works fairly well for the Fallout setting.

It has its limits, and the guide maybe stretches it, but not to disbelief (in my opinion).

i was referring to the Mutation Guide... if you were able to make sense of two implicitly connected sentences... it says that Brahming dont like being disturbed when rehashing their meal, further referring to their horns.

According to the Vault Dweller Survival Guide, the mutations were predicted by Vault-Tec through the use of Science.
