It is bad. I don't know why, but modders for some reason keep trying to paint the NCR as a faction that is on par with the pre-war army when it isn't. In New Vegas I got the sense that the NCR army is more or less on par with America's army during the first World War. Hell, the NCR's uniforms are even similar to the US army's uniforms during WW1. There is also so much stolen from other media. It reminds me of when my nephew, who is 4, plays with his Marvel and DC action figures and reenacts scenes from his favorite movies or cartoon shows. I will be writing a review for this for the site. There is just so much to unpack.
 
Some thoughts after part 3:
  • Devilwish loves to masturbate with his writing. That Blackthorne speech while you follow him is literally LONGER THAN THE FO4 INTRO AND HAS EVEN LESS GAMEPLAY.
  • Hospital had pretty standard "we don't have enough supplies to save everyone, but we'll try" that even Bethesda did back in Fallout 3 (first terminal on wikia) https://fallout.fandom.com/wiki/Germantown_police_HQ_terminal_entries but it was nicely fleshed out with the painkiller addict, security guy and wrongfully lynching the nurse. Shame that person that made it probably made only a couple of interiors.
  • Plot tries so hard to make you care about these 1D characters, but you're constantly bombarded with H-BOMB! Ghoul Jesus (which btw is an entire faction with a certain plot signifance in Legion questline), quirky kid tech wizard with ROBOT ARMY and other HAHA shit.
  • That "Morality is an illusion" edgelord with the eyebots. When you meet him he'll probably go with something about "blindly following the quest markers, eh COURIER? I'm dissapointed" or "lack of choice, because we're in VIDEO GAME". It would be way more effective if he didn't say anything about your choice regarding the scout.
  • You're THE COURIER everyone heard about, but that Legion spy thought that ambush with 4 guys would be enough to kill you. They didn't even place any traps or mines near the body.
  • Exploring looks like a massive pain in the ass. Whatever Wendigos are with their super high HP, common scavengers armed with guns worth several thousand caps and those stupid cars (especially suiciders).
 
Too much of CoD like scenes, or anything taken from other modern FPS. I wish they use 1950s era tank like the low profile Patton tank series, instead of freaking Sherman. But @Crni Vuk will hate me for that.

But other than the poor writing, it's a technical masterpiece to see what they can done with the Gamebyro.
 
It's true the Sherman had a relatively high profile for a medium tank but it was not that much more compared to the Patton.
 
Oh God, the tanks! I feel like I need to bring this up with my future review. As a lot of people know, especially @Crni Vuk, tanks, especially those used in WW2, eat up a lot of fuel. According to the Fallout lore the world ran out of oil in 2066. So how the fuck are they able to fuel all these tanks and cars? I mean, in the Fallout world most of the vehicles in America are run on nuclear power but these vehicles need fuel. WTF?

If you think DevilsWish is bad just wait until we do the Legion path and side quests made by Nazo. Holly shit does that guy have a massive hate boner for Someguy2000. I get the feeling that the bounty hunter quest was made by him as there are a number of not too subtle digs at Someguy2000. I get the feeling that Nazo hate boner for Someguy is because:
  1. Someguy is a more popular (and creative) modder then he is which I think makes him jealous. Nazo also views his writing and talents as better too.
  2. In my few personal talks with Someguy and given what I see from his mods I take it that Someguy leans more towards Libertarianism and anti-PC politically while Nazo is a self proclaimed progressive Leftist and male feminist. Of course someone like Someguy must be cancelled in both his and the Frontier Discord eyes. Modding must be gatekept from anybody who doesn't yield to the politics of Twitter.
  3. There were rumors that the Frontier team wanted to recruit Someguy for their team but I get the feeling that Someguy looked at their script and called it trash and refused to work with them. This may have lead to the bad blood that The Frontier team have towards Someguy.

I wanted to punch the screen with that whole "Morality is a illusionary construct" line. You just know that however wrote that probably thought that they were deep with that line. That whole Tenth Eye quest just screams "Too deep for you".

Exploring this map would be fun if there wasn't overpowered enemies in the world. Remember that the recommended level for this is 11. If I didn't cheat myself to level 30 and gave myself one of the most overpowered weapon in the Gun Runners Arsenals I would be dying left and right. Also, those fucking suicide cars make no sense! Why would the Scavs waste an invaluable resource like a working vehicle like that? The idiot devs probably thought that it would be cool and went with it.

Th3Overseer made a few digs at Bounties in Headhunting, for example Tully (guy that runs the bounty office) calls you a psycho if you ask if he wants you to collect heads or fingers from the dead or jokes about every outlaw having a brother that'll hunt you for revenge.
On the other hand he's one of the more vocal defenders of Someguy's narrative choices in Bounties III.

I remember watching Alchestbreach play this quest and it similarly felt like it was made by Someguy's fan, though the jokes felt a lot more blunt and cringe (Enclave guy you'll be meeting for the second bounty).

You know, the well loved companion who probably had one of the best companion quests in New Vegas which brought some humanity to the Enclave? Why, we can't have that! Th3Oveseer jokes are more or less inside jokes that are more or less in good fun. Someguy is also known to make jokes about his own mods and join in on the fun. Nazo, however, is a well known hater of Someguy. He even made a video where he just bashes Someguy calling him a hack and how so much better he is than him at writing. He ended up taking it down when people started piling on him for his retarded take. I vaguely remember seeing someone on Alchestbreach's video for The Better Angels where this guy just bashes all of the characters that Someguy wrote for his mod and stated that his mod will be so much better as his mod is going to have a female villain who would make the player question their morality. I believe that guy may have been Nazo.

I don't doubt Nazo also hates Someguy as he is a big drama queen constantly fighting with others (remember him going after Saxxon and his choice of VAs- white guy voiced a black character), but entire Junkflea was made by a group of smaller modders (I think Cellblock Psycho also did some NPCs), which makes me doubt Nazo had a hand in the bounties side quest.

I guess the only thing some "old" tank has going for is mechanics. Like if you compare it with a tank runing on some science fiction fusion cells what ever space electronics, well keeping a tank with a more traditional gasoline engine running is easy peasy for someone with a bit of mechanical knowledge and knack for tinkering. Hell a tractor mechanic could repair a T34 in Russia. And if you fight savages even a hit by a 75mm shell would ruin anyones day and I would say even someoen in power armour. And a Sherman could be build in pretty much every car manufacturing company (during its day) as they made the engines for it. Fuel would be a problem of course ... particularly as you wouldn't find any fuel left anywhere since the gasoline either evaporated or it lost it's chemical structure after a few years so in other words no energy inside it. A big problem with a lot of stuff actually even gun powder. But I would say it is easier to somehow create fuel than energy cells. You could even make fuel out of plants like rapeseed. So yeah ... brahmin dung ...

But of course none of this is probably explained in the shitty frontier.

Honestly, and this is gonna sound petty, but i was turned off almost immediately from this mod when one of the creators actively hates New Vegas. And here's the thing, you don't have to love New Vegas or even like it if you don't care to mod with it, but can the people in charge working on the mod with an engine of a game actually like the game, or at least have some sort of respect for the game itself?

We can talk all about the fact that New Vegas is more advanced than Fallout 3 in terms of tech, but i still expect the people working with the engine to have some level of respect for the game. Coming out that you actively hate the game you are modding with leaves a negative perception of you and therefore the whole project.

And i know there are people that don't like Bethesda games but still mod the fuck out of them, but at least those are changing the game to suit their tastes. Making an entirely new single player campaign is not changing the vanilla experience to suit your tastes.

Devilwish made a single monologue longer than the entire Fallout 4 intro.
I'll take Emil's "Keep it simple, stupid" over Frontier's pseudo-intellectual shit.

The problem I have with the KISS approach is that at some point, we want a story that makes us think. Dumb fun has a time and a place, but if all you try to produce is dumb fun, you write yourself into a corner.

Oh God, he went after Saxxon too? I worked with Saxxon before on his quest pack mod. He is one of the nicest guys you will meet on the Nexus. That is such a petty and inane thing to fight a mod author over. I bet if a black person voiced a white character Nazo wouldn't have a problem with that. God, he really is the embodiment of a Discord SJW. Can't wait for when me and @KingArthur rip the Legion path to shreds.

Yes, but you can't artificially make your reader think. If it doesn't come naturally, you're only alienating your reader.
That's what sucks about New California and Frontier- inexperienced writers jumping head first into "What can change the nature of a man?" deep water and then drowning their readers for half an hour.

Maybe "fight" was a wrong word, as he didn't attack Saxxon directly. Someone asked in Alchestbreach comments what are the major differences between Nazo's mods and Saxxon's Pack which he really enjoyed. Nazo replied with a bunch of things, among them "taking care to properly direct his VAs". Guy asking the question asked for explanation and Nazo went on a small rant about "silencing certain voices in the community due to agenda or not caring about certain issues". Someone pointed out that the base game has characters like that (Dawes in NCR CF is voices by Ari Rubin for example).

Are you saying that Northern Legion having female slavers and soldiers, but also an entire sex dungeon and a Sith Academy training that forces recruits to murder each other isn't a more morally complex faction than the vanilla version was?

According to Nazo and the Frontier Discord they honest to God think that the Northern Legion is both better and an improvement of the Legion in the base game. Just ask @Señor Wally. The delusion and the hubris of these people is astonishing. I am someone who wants to become a professional writer. I have outlines for books I want to write. My aunt, who is a professional writer, told me that one of the most important things as a writer is to be humble, listen to constructive criticism and not take yourself so seriously. Guess what the Frontier writers didn't do. I mean, this entire mod is just the writers, DevilsWish, OdinSword, Nazo, just fellating themselves thinking that they are better then Avellone and Sawyer. Fuck, they even in the ending slides call their shitty writing "The Couriers Magnum Opus".
The pride cometh before the fall.
