So, who's excited for The Frontier

Guess I'm the only one not being excited about it. :D All I've seen from it is guns, guns, guns, big vertibirds, more guns and w/hacky driving tanks. While it sure looks impressive from a modders point of view, everything else pretty much lets me cold.

No, you don't get to be a special snowflake here. ;) There seems to be nothing at all there to get me on board on any level in that mod. To me it looks boring and inspired by "wrong" things about the series.

I'm more excited for the eventual release of Project Brazil, if I'm being honest, though I do intend for the Frontier to be the last chapter of my NV play throughs. It may sound strange, but what I'm really excited about with the Frontier isn't the new quests, vehicles, space missions, or any of the actual features it has--what I'm really excited about is the Pip Boy 2000 that comes with it.

It's beautiful, and every time I see it I can't help but admire how it looks.

Yes this thing looks cool, but they said there wont be a stand alone release of the pipboy.

I am kinda of looking forward to it, but I think from the trailer the mod relies too much on the Rule of Cool. Mass fleets of vehicles(which the NCR didn't use in the Mohave), fighting the Legion in Portland(Do people not understand how big the US is? It is a thousand miles form Las Vegas to Portland.) and giant space battles.

Hmm, so the space station stuff is Archimedes II, the orbital laser in New Vegas.
Still using a space vertibird(?) as the way to travel to it feels out of place IMO. Would be better if using a space shuttle and you can only go there one time.

I'll give it a shot, i think it's better to try it, and even if it's gonna be a buggy mess, rest assured the uninstall button will work.

Just in time for my new TTW playthrough. Though I'll propably wait for Alchestbreach playthrough before I download this giant mod.

Honestly don't care for this mod. All the previews and trailers I have seen so far, gives me the feeling that this mod is going to have mediocre writing and lore breaks all over it. Not to mention the main plot already makes no sense. Why is the NCR and Legion fighting a huge war in the north when there is already a huge war going on in Vegas. I have seen the mod developer try to explain this here, but his explanations are not convincing.

Great effort and production value wasted on action-figure clashing tier fanfiction. I feel New California fell into the same trap of having great power behind it but just utterly wasted on weird gamer power-level fanfiction shit.

The ideal kind of fan-mods IMO are ones that could slot in as actual DLCs in the original game and don't disappear up their own ass with "cinematic" storylines (Inspired by Hideo Kojima being in one of the trailers was not a good sign and I say that as a Metal Gear fan) . The Courier picks up a job travelling with a group of Prospectors in search of Bloomfield Space Center in Arizona and we get an adventure showing the Legion side of the Wasteland. Or maybe the Courier travels into the Great Basin and ends up getting caught in a regional conflict between local millitias and the 80s tribe or something.

I keep forgetting about it thinking it was the New California mod. Which I still haven't tried. If this one is easy to install, I might give it a try. Won't commit myself to completing it if I start to get the feeling it's bad.

I'd like this more too. At least for a game like New Vegas that is. I'd rather just be given a loose level recommendation and install it like it a DLC. It would probably lessen the scope of the project and allow for more focus. I'd say to even play it safer, you could just make it about an area we haven't seen in Fallout yet and isn't talked about much by the characters either to give you more freedom.

New California isn't good. It's incredibly railroaded, you are basically a follower to epic cool NPCs and it turns out that not only is your player character the Courier from New Vegas (and no matter what faction or ending you choose it all loops back into the same outcome for a spine chilling new vegas reference!") but you are also an FEV clone of the Vault Dweller from Fallout 1. Yeah, that's real.

Still can't get over that stupid plot twist. And then they're the Japanese people in San Francisco. I'm glad that mod is not canon.

Holy shit. I heard it was bad but you made it sound even worse than what I've already heard.

From what i've heard and seen this mod will be revolutionary just based on the vehicles, mechanics, the story and the map. I will definitely be playing this when it comes out, but I still got to ask, Who's excited for the frontier?

gonna suck like literally every huge fallout mod
