I've been following a lot of the production for MEA and they've shown a heavy amount of both Ryder twins. I think the last few segments they released on their main YT channel had the Ryder sister running around.

The context of what the tweet was actually saying was blown out of proportion, though. The person who misinterpreted it is either a total idiot or just instigating controversy.

Women are 45% of gamers.

And purchase 10-20% of AAA games (from direct statistics from steam, Uplay, Origin, etc).

What does this mean?

Females play about half the games...But almost always play Facebook/mobile games.

Which isn't to say they aren't gamers. As the constant neverending attempts to get profitable mobile games out proves. Also, the 10-20% of AAA games is also notable for the fact they tend to have very strong brand loyalty to the specific ones they do play.

For example, almost none play Doom but plenty play Resident Evil and Final Fantasy and Dragon Age.

Honestly tho the sooner we stop pretending this is some boys only club the better. Im not saying appeal to Anita Sarkeesians demands (tho a few are reasonable) but can we stop the super dorky pretend war with women and stop calling them fake gamer girls or fake nerd girls thanks.

I have long felt a lot of gamers are carrying their grudges against the opposite sex from high school.

She was an idiot with flimsy arguments and logic, but I thought people stopped even giving a shit about her..... That's kind of like bringing up Jack Thompson at this point.
 
BTW, they've released a basic description of the story if anyone wants to know it.

You arrive in the Andromeda galaxy and find out that most of the place is completely wrecked to shit with all the planets you planned to colonize being wastelands. Which should have been anticipated since they're one million years later from where the scans of the Andromeda galaxy returned information. You arrive with your Colony ship alone and all the other colony ships have been seized by the Kett who are a Borg-like race of superbeings who are "ascending" people Green ending style.

You have to go loot a bunch of vaults which are full of loot and secrets of the race which spawned the Kett (i.e. Borderlands has invaded Mass Effect), make alliances with the locals, and rescue the other Arks full of Turians and Krogan and Asari.

The Kett are a religious cult which indoctrinates people and I believe they are cyborgs, yes. Albeit, not obvious ones because their whole thing is they're cyborg angel-lookalikes.

The local romance is basically Thane.

I am hoping we get to romance Katy Townsend's character, though. A scottish religious geologist.

Except they're after the Vaults of Pandora more than assimilating people into their cult.

Remember, Mass Effect 3 says that it was secretly all about the conflict between organics and machines you know!

So it's just in theme and not ripping off themselves!

The worlds you'll visit are a combination of post-apocalypse and Western so I wouldn't be surprised if the Borderlands comparisons are more than skin deep. Unlike the Pre-Reaper, Milky Way, the Kett have apparently fucked up this galaxy good and everyone is living in a anarchic outlaw sort of place with the Arks being the big source of civilization.
 
A "Post apocalyptic galaxy" that's taking the dumbest aspects of Space Opera and combining them with Bethesda's interpretation of a Post apocalypse....

Maybe the Kett will believe they're just bringing about Unity but you'll reveal they can't breed.

Either way, I hope we can kick the locals off their land and build eezo wells.

Sadly, I don't think we'll have the option of being arrogant colonialists.
 
From the videos they have shown, the only options we will have is being either a dick, neutral or friendly about the exact same stuff, probably with even less reactivity than a Teltale "game".

Which will be a shame. I liked when you could wipe out the Council and wipe out species.
 
You could wipe them out.... and they would get replaced with suspiciously similar looking people.

There's a world of difference between the majority of a gender/sex playing a game which a toddler can beat.

And another gender being the majority of players of games which are grossly more complex.

Its like saying a kid who has a bottle rocket has to be counted as an astronaut.
