The Outer Worlds information overload

I'm stoked that this will be in first person.

Most people are. It should give Obsidian some much needed cash flow to keep afloat until they get buried alive by Microsoft.

Hey maybe Xbox will finally have a decent exclusive to compete with Sony.

Take this with a grain of salt guys...

A release date of August 6th was leaked on Steam, then quickly disappeared.

Well, I definitely won't be buying The Outer Worlds this year. Hoping to see it on GOG in 2020.

Not only am I not getting it this year, I'm not getting it until it's 75% off on Steam or GoG. If they don't want me to pay 100% of the price now, then they'll only get 25% of the price from me later. I can wait. I waited 3 years for a New Vegas GOTY Edition to hit 75% off on Steam to buy and play it and that was an Obsidian Fallout game that I desired more than anything in this entire world. I have patience, Take Two, I have lots and lots of patience. Don't frell with me! *shakes fist*

EDIT: Clarified I was talking about New Vegas GOTY.

What is this epic store? Are they steam-like third party program mandatory or do they do offline installers like GOG?
I waited long for Vegas to show up on GOG, as I won't buy anything from a steam-like retailer. So far I never even pirated a steam-like exclusive, but who know, it might all change if GOG ever make fucking Galaxy mandatory, or if a game I really want to play now is a steam-like exclusivity.

I am like FearMonkey though, I can wait a very long time for this Outer worlds fellow I think.

This doesn't really matter to me because I'm a console player. Still, that sucks for all the people who wanted to buy it on Steam.

It's mandatory like Steam, though it lacks most of the features Steam has (offline mode being one of the more lacking for me).
There's also evidence it acts like a spyware (scans your files and copies for example your Steam offline file).

Also I made some research into this and it seems that another game published by Take2 was announced as Epic exclusive at the same time (Ancestors). So it seems that it was publisher's choice again...

It's definitely the publisher's choice. Obsidian doesn't need moneyhat money now, they're owned by the biggest moneyhatter in the world. :P

It's funny though, Take Two, a few months ago, said they wouldn't put their games as exclusives on EGS, pointing at RDR2 as an example. But now they have two right out the gate. Hypocrites.
