The Steam Summer Sale starts this Thursday (probably)

Fable 3 is on flash sale for another two hours and I'm thinking of getting it. I did enjoy the first game as a relaxed fun little adventure game, but I haven't really heard/seen anything from the two sequels. Is it worth €5?

Worth a fiver yea, Fable 3 is the worst of the main 3 Fable games though. Just misses that zing that made the first one and most of the second feel like good time fun.
Still has that British charm though and an enjoyable aesthetic, as long as you turn of the motion blur in the config, it's horrible.

Flash sale of Rayman: Origins, will everyone please line up in front of Brother None if you don't have it. It's also apparently the only Flash Sale at 66% off rather than 75%, unless I missed one.

I missed the flash sale. Oh well. Would've been nice to pick up some copies to give away.

I still picked up a copy from you with the regular summer sale discount, Walpknut. PM me your Steam email address so I can send it your way.

Bah. Noticed that the sale ends today and i thought i might aswell buy a game now that i have cash on my visa account! Only 1 game in my list had a decent sale and it was not a top 5 game to be honnest.. Just my damn luck!
Guess i'll say fuck it and buy Bioshock infinite and wait with Metro and COH 2 for some other time.

I don't know man, Bioshock Infinite isn't at a good enough price to justify buying that amount of mediocrity.

It looks to bright compared to the other 2.. But i did love the first 2 games and it was the only game that had a 50% + sale and i really wanted.

And i did buy Tomb Raider so i can't get any more dissapointed with an "expensive" buy.. I hope :D

Edit: Been playing for like 1 hour now and i'm not sure about this game.. It doesn't feel like bioshock anymore :/

Heh, I was just about to say "keep your expectations to a minimum". It doesn't have that much in common with the two originals and both of them are much better in most areas. It's still completely worth a playthrough just for the story and atmosphere, but I found it very lacking in gameplay.

Na, Infinite's atmosphere is that of a park ride, and the story is pretty shlocky with delussions of grandeur. Don't bite into the hype about the story, because it doesn't measure up at all.

Jumping between hooks and the NPC can't see me even if i'm almost in his field of view.. 10 sec later i'm sneaking behind a wall and the AI sees me.. Nice logic's
And no reflections in the water by your character but from everyone els.. Smells like vampire :P
AND! Nothing so far feels interessting besides the small parts of old time racism.. But even that is lacking and not really interessting.

Yeah, I found it really pretentious (always) and nonsensical (at times). I may be because I just didn't like a certain aspect that is more and more being forced down your throat as the second half of the game goes, but I wasn't impressed with the story, and limiting the player to 2 weapons as well as recycling the Plasmids from BS1 and 2 made the gameplay fairly underwhelming. Also no medkit/mana conservation kinda sucks.

It's still a decent game, but it's nothing really special like Bioshock was.

B..b..but I thought it's the citizen kane of gaming?!?!?!11 Uninstalled the garbage after 3-4 hours in realizing it wont get better.

Yeah, the story and setting is absolutely nothing grounbreaking. It's more a saving grace that didn't make me feel like I had completely wasted my time.

I, on the other hand, absolutely loved the game. Guess that makes me the lowest common denominator, eh?

If you haven't tried the first 2 games i can understand this.. But if you have tried one or even better both there is no reason to love this game >:|
Got myself some shocking stuff now and i'm pushing on.

I've played both of the previous Bioshocks extensively and still love Infinite. My order of preference goes Infinite > 2 > 1. The primary problem I have is that the plot for the first BioShock is lifted from System Shock 2, complete with the Polito twist.

I remember a pretty hilarious occurrence of Elizabeth's "Incredible AI". I was walking towards some piece of loot (a lockpick, coins or some bottle) and as I approached it Elizabeth suddenly walked in front of me and propped her ass up to my face, I almost tought I unlocked a Quantic Dreamesque random sex scene by accident (which would have been pretty disturbing after certain revelation). She really likes to displace the player to point at objects all the time.

I went in aiming to restrict myself with three games, I ended up with more than that....its just those deals man, just those deals....

A quick little info drop, if you click on badge progress and click on a steam card, it brings up a wallpaper of that card, I've got several good ones from GMOD and Portal 2.

It makes you someone who likes stories I don't. I never said anyone who liked it was a drooling imbecile. Simply that I, personally, didn,t like it.

On another note, Hitman absolution is pretty great. I didn't like the plot at first for being too over the top, but now I realize it has a deliberate Grindhouse/Tarantino vibe, which I can certainly get behind. The gameplay is also nice, I like the Instinct mechanic on Hard difficulty; it's useful, but not the kind of art style-breaking super-vision like the Batman Arkham games have, or the Dark Vision in Dishonored. And of course fiber wiring people and assuming silly disguises never gets old.
