The Steam Summer Sale starts this Thursday (probably)

Does anyone have any opinions on Just Cause 3 or Mad Max? Just Cause 3 has mediocre ratings across the board and apparently it has big memory leak issues?

So i may just have refunded the Tomb raider season pass. Not like i will play the game anytime soon and there will probably be a better sale during the fall/winter... Now to the part where i decide what i should throw my money at.

I loved Mad Max! I thought it woul be generic and boring but it had probably the best optimization ever and it was actually fun untill you were getting close to the end seeing how you would have a lot less to do.

Well worth the buy.

... I thought flash sales weren't going to be a thing anymore?

They are gone. The only thing now is highlighted games that you may have missed for some reason.

Thanks for letting me know. I'm a big fan of the series so I think I might get it.
Guess i'll say fuck it and buy Bioshock infinite and wait with Metro and COH 2 for some other time.
I liked Bioshock Infinite. If you liked the first 2 you will probably like Infinite. The story is fairly good. One drawback is if I remember correctly you can only use 2 weapons at same time though.

And of course I love Metro series also.

As for the game I'm playing: Duskers. It fills me with nostalgia because it looks like a game that would have been made on the giant floppy disks, but it is OOZING with atmosphere and ambience. It's a very charming little game and it really feels like you're operating a computer program on the Nostromo from Alien while exploring derelict ships. One of those games you play with the lights off.

Yeah, only now I realized what SuAside means with Flash Deals gone, after I watch TotalBiscuit's Top 20 Steam Sale's Pick of 2016. I'm so fucking dumb....

Gonna wait until the very last second, then, since I already have too much game in my backlog (especially after so many games I picked up off of GOG's Summer Sale), I can literally wait for whatever better deal available at Winter's Sale.

Sucks to be broke as hell this time of year. But I have so many games to play, I hardly need more.

I think that the biggest issue about Darkest Dungeon is the "stress" mechanic. Overhaul that and the game would improve drastically. But there are other things that also need to be improved upon. I don't want it or afflictions removed. I just want it toned the fuck down and overhauled. There are far too many ways to 'get' stress and not nearly enough ways to 'reduce' it .

It's pretty much the one mechanic the entire game is built around. I think it's great and wouldn't really want it changed. A lot of the fun in the game comes from having your heroes go insanse, and constantly trying to manage their mental health.

It is a roguelike after all. It's not supposed to be easily winnable on first try. But people seem to love easy "roguelikes" with no real roguelike elements these days.

@aenemic
No I can enjoy a rogue-lite(is it "like" or "lite"?).

Darkest Dungeon is just not a particularly 'good' rogue-lite IMO.

I've been playing this quite a lot recently. Mad Max is good if you're a fan of the franchise and like sandbox games. The side activity stuff may get a bit repetitive though since the game gives you a lot of scarecrows, camps and convoys to take down and they don't vary as much as they could.

It's still pretty awesome though, the game captures the second and fourth movies' atmosphere well (not sure about Thunderdome since I haven't seen it, but the chases in it were pretty limited from what I've read.)

I really want to see what games you have under Don'tevertrythisshitagain :P
They're games I've simply not enjoyed and instead of going "oh well gee I guess I should try this game again and give it another chance" in a year or two I'd rather just put them in a category of "avoid it".
Some of them I am hyper-critical of (Darkest Dungeon, Don't Starve, Fallout 4), some of them don't work or are unfinished in a way (The Dead Linger), some of them I simply didn't like and some of them I've played already and I have squeezed every bit of enjoyment out of them that I can and I just don't think replaying them is going to be an option.
don't you forget about me.jpg

don't don't don't don't!.jpg
The "don't try this shit again" comes from the early conception of the category when I only put games I couldn't fucking stand in there but over time it has broadened in its definition, I just haven't changed the title of the category cause I like it.

Bought Shantae, Momodora, Shovel Knight and Dust Force, because I am a sucker for nice 2D art and side scrollers.
Also bought Witcher 3, but without the expansion pass, I know I made a stink out of Witcher 2 not working but... It was on sale... Bought Skull Girls and it's DLC, SR4 because it was at 2 dollars and DMC....

On the 30 I get my summer bonus.... I think I have a problem, I used to have to ask peope to lend me their cards to buy shit from steam but now I can pay through Efecty directly and I need to control the spending...

JC3 is still a fun game, but it's upgrade system is a bit wank, doesn't really do much new, and has some performance issues. OTOH, the world is big an interesting, there's a lot more to blow up and a lot more ways to do it, shooting and driving it better, and it looks gorgeous. Definitely worth picking up if you liked JC3

I never played the previous Just Cause games, but JC3 looks like a lot of fun however it costs a LOT with all that DLC, it has always on-line DRM, people are reporting serious memory leaks/performance issues, and it has mixed reviews across Steam and Metacritic. So I'm not sure it's worth all the money for the base game and all that DLC.

Mad Max looks pretty good though.

Also if anyone is into point-and-click adventure games I noticed the Wadjet Eye games are pretty cheap (Primordia, Technobabylon, Shardlight).

And if you haven't played Penumbra series they're also pretty cheap now. They're the precursors to Amnesia and SOMA. Speaking of which I highly recommend SOMA.

And then there's Underrail, S.T.A.L.K.E.R. series, Offworld Trading Company and even DOOM is already on sale.

Well, I gotta say that having tons of disposable income and a credit card is dangerous. Spent 200 euro at this point (I spend far more on comics tho'). I've been scrounging around Steam for 'something' to buy, desperately looking for something, anything, that could peak a bit of interest in me and I gotta say that either Steam is filled with shit or my tastes have become far too defined. I managed to find enough shit to waste my money on though. :)

So, here's what I've gotten:

12 Is Better Than 6
The Age Of Decadence
Aliens Vs Predator (new version, already got old one on disc)
Condemned: Criminal Origins
Dark Souls II: Scholar
The Darkness II
Dragon's Dogma: Dark Arisen
Hard West
Hero Siege
Life Is Strange
Luftrausers
Metal Gear Rising: Revengeance
Metal Slug
Metal Slug 3
Metla Slug X
Metro: Last Light REDUX
Shadow Of Mordor
Remember Me
REvil 0
REvil Revelations 1
REvil Revelations 2
Serious Sam 3: BFE
Shadow Warrior
Spore
Technobabylon
Tomb Raider (new)
The Walking Dead: Michonne
XCOM: Enemy Within

I don't think I'll put any more money into my steam wallet at this point. I seriously struggle to find any damn game I find even remotely interesting. Besides, I gotta spend several hundred euro on comics anyway.

Holy fuck.

Meanwhile I actually ran out of cash before I even manage to put a dime into my Steam wallet :puppy-dog: been spending quite some with my friends :postviper:

Well, since I've already spend another bunch of bucks on GOG Summer Sale, and I've just realized there's just quite a lot of games in my backlog that can last me until maybe Torment: Tides of Numenera release, I guess I can keep myself from spending for Steam, for now.... maybe I'll get something in Winter Sale.
