Things we learned from Fallout 3

286: The things found as easter eggs in FO and FO2 are canon (i.e. godzilla, aliens, the united federation of planets, time travel, whales popping randomly into existence, monty python and some other really fitting and plausible references).

43. Electricity generators and power stations continue to work 200 years after a nuclear war

44. Explosions that destroy houses will leave mail boxes in tact.

45. You can fit ANYTHING into the smallest mailbox

46. Famous landmarks like the capitol building, Washington Monument etc. are proof to nuclear weapons. Like the rest of the buldings.

Holy shit.. this game (Failout 3 of course).. from what I've read from this long list of crapfest found in fallout 3. *to bethesda* WHAT WERE THEY THINKING!?! :aiee:

293. You can mess with a nuclear bomb in the middle of a city and nobody will notice anything.

294. Decent voice acting is a thing of the past

295. The Enclave isn't intelligent enough to realize that the main threat to their masterplan is the BOS ( despite it being the main faction in Washington DC ) and that's why they never launch a massive Vertibird attack on their base. They prefer setting up useless aerials in the wasteland.

296. Crippled limbs and concussions can be healed with a good nights sleep.

297. Fallout 3 made 1% of the buyers rage like a tornado but the other 99% just laughed and had fun.

298. Despite getting the Vertibird plans, the Brotherhood still had to WALK to get to the east coast

299. Liam Neeson is badass

300. Every Raider who ever lived has a mohawk

301. Liam Neeson will never stop being type cast. When I read in an interview that Bethesda had written the role "specifically" for Neeson, I already knew that he would be a kind-hearted father figure.

302. No matter what you focus on in life, you will always end up being perfect at everything.

303. In the distant future, people will say that they are "proud to be just like 99% of everyone else!"

305. People find odd, out of place humor great in fallout 2, but its a sin in fallout 3...

306. Fallout 3 does not have the same replay value as the first two.

307. Thankfully, mods are easy to add to fallout 3, which means you can convert it how you see fit.

308. Unfortunatly, not everyting can be modded in, so the game still smells like brahmin poo.

309. People would give you whatever you may need - food, water, weapons, medicine - if you give them in return something that's used for closing bottles.

310. Raiders would run towards you with a stick, even if you have a huge gun. Do all of them think you're out of ammo or something?

311. You can carry alot. In fact, you can carry enough armor, food, ammo, medicine and weapons to arm and feed a small army.

1.I found out that every other person you talk to using the word fuck makes a game hip and edgy.

2.That a society that throws everyone out at the age of 18 can reproduce enough to continue on surviving for several hundred years and also isn't as inbred as the Borgias.

3.Deathclaws look like aneroxic demons.

4.That companies do not need to playtest a game or fix bugs.

5.That lesbian ghoul sex is not as hot as i first imagined it.

317. (above didn't number) You can find a fully functional Samurai sword on an alien space ship.

318. A Samurai is still alive and well, fully armored in an alien spacecraft.

319. Beth made a Addon about an alien spacecraft.

320. I actually bought an addon about an alien spacecraft for a game I spent 40% of the time grimacing.

322. All guns sound like someone banging two spoons together, so says Fallout3 and bethesda.

323. I have played Fallout 3, and even though I dont own it I was only psyched about the mothership zeta add on. I went and read some more UFO books, saw the mothership zeta addon and can now care less. Its out of my system.

304. Fans of FO2 even consider Fallout Tatics (urgh) better than FO3.
How is that so surprising? :)

324: The only green growing in DC after 200 year gap between when the bombs fell is in Oasis, which leads to another inconsistency; Harold.

325: The DC area is beautiful and rich enough to make long dying special mutants travel thousands of miles just to be implanted into the ground and get burned by some 10 year old whos mum bought him the game because he cried for it.

Hey, let's see all of you make a better game.

The problem is not with spirit or ideas, in that aspect we could make Fallout games a hundred times better.

The problem lies with getting money, equipment and personnel to carry out such an endeavor.

Just because Bethesda has those three elements, does not make them gaming geniuses or people who 'really got Fallout'.

If you provide me with these three necessities, I'll make a Fallout game for you.
