Things we learned from Fallout 3

620: Everyone in the FO3 universe *except* the lone wanderer has power armor training.

621: Changing the name of the laser rifle can drastically increase its damage! (Waser Wifle...Wow).

622: You can take a giant stinger the size of a couch right through the chest and you're perfectly fine...it's the poison that kills you.

623: Despite having mechanical components, power armor (and therefor soldiers IN power armor) are miraculously invulnerable to pulse grenades O.O

Do you really think EMP would hurt someone just because they were wearing armour?

EMP destroys electronics. To be fair, Fallout's electronics are based around vacuum tubes which are inherently hardened against EMP, but as pulse grenades do damage to robots they should damage power armour, too.
Imagine being stuck in a suit of armour, and suddenly the electronics burn up. I can see how that could be damaging to you :D Sparks and even fires, sudden, violent movements, that kinda stuff.

especially Tesla armor, imo. There's no reason a pulse grenade shouldn't harm someone in power armor; if not the individual inside, it should at very last make the armor inoperable, and therefore make it impossible for the soldier within it to move.

Is power armor really electronicly supported/guided or is it just a set of hydraulics powered by a mini reactor.

At least the APA is supposed to be powered with electrical motors.
Either way, something has to control the motors or hydraulics, it won't just magically follow your movements and simultaniously strengthen them if needed.

624: It is better to half blow up the most technologically advanced piece of scientific equipment/ transportation (crawler) than to simple send in a strike team to take it over

625: Being a robot expert allows you only to turn them off, not back on or re-program them.

626: As long as you join the Lawbringers (perk) Karma doesn't matter and they will never hunt you down, the great Brown shield?

627: 1 brahmin = 1steak , really?, Radscorpions = no meat, what?
And any human you kill = 0 strange meat ??? WTF
FU Cannibalism perk (how about veal meat from children?)

628: Milk bottles everywhere but no MILK ?????

.... So the Cows produce radiation?

I wouldn't say produce...they have been eating irradiated grass, and they are themselves mutants, so their milk might have something horrible in it.

Then again, their milk could also have something awesome in it as well. We don't really know.

Actually, that brings up a good point, which I'll formulate into a "What I learned" line.

629: Apparently, radiation has COMPLETELY replaced all forms of poisons, decompositions, and generally unhealthy conditions that affect life in all its forms. You can't get food poisoning anymore, but you CAN get irradiated!

Food Irradiation-oisoning?

Holy crap, I never noticed that!
That does seem odd :D

You'd think eating raw mole rat meat would give you a bad case of worms or something, but nope, just radiation.

Well, at least they (sort of) fixed it in FNV, with raw meat giving you a strength penalty.

Ok, to be fair, it is a game and as such some departures from reality are to be expected. Like the fact that you can't go to the bathroom. And besides, there was no sickness in FO1 and 2 iirc.

Anyway since I haven't done one in a while:

630: Apparently, radiation is also great at preserving corpses, because not a single body decomposes in the game. No, really, they just stay there in perfect condition. They could have despawned, but I have yet to see it happen.

631: Judging by how the bodies in raider camps never seem to decay, it is safe to assume that the raiders of the future are all expert taxidermists, with a very morbid sense of humor.

maybe the rads in the meat kill the worms in FO3.

Also... with so much radiation in the players body... it might be hard for any bacteria to survive <smile>
