Fairly good tournie so far. Apart from Russia getting twonked everything is falling as i predicted. So far i am quids in. Switz have been slightly crapper than i expected. All it lacks is some Steve Sidwell.

Wasn't a boring match. Wasn't a good match either. Typical knife-between-teeth game, really.
Laughing at the ridiculously soaked pitch was kind of fun, and the two teams did really want it. But still - nothing really happened.

Hah, the Germans just got their asses kicked by the croats. Way to go guys!

I voted for my country, Romania, but i don't have very high hopes. Tommorrow night i'm gonna be at the pub: Romania vs Italy... wohooo!

UGH! This is so unfair! Poland tied with Austria although they OWNED them most of the time! Plus, the penalty shot shouldn't be made - the Austrian guy faked it!

Er. Did we watch the same match, mang? :D If not for Boruc, we would lose the first half like 5:0. We're so lucky to have a class goalie like him, he's pure $.

Defence was... wow, i don't even have words to describe it. It wasn't even atrocious, Russia was atrocious, and was better than that. Jop has got to be the worst player that took part in the tourney, so far. He was simply a walking hole in our defense, everything went past him. Wasilewski was almost equally bad, and he didn't really put himself together in the second half, but that's all we have, unfortunately. Midfield was non-existant for 30 minutes. Then an offside goal and the match turns around. Oh well.

What that ref did to us, though.. eh. Not gonna discuss whether or not that was a penalty or not, but seconds earlier one of the Austrians fauled more clearly in our box, and ref didn't whistle. Motherfucker.

Bad, bad game, all in all. Boruc = King, Guerreiro and Saganowski, solid performances, Lewandowski did his job in the second half, but other than that, JESUS FUCKING CHRIST IT WAS HORRIBLE.

/rant

edit: small correction, by 'didn't whistle', i mean, 'repeat the free kick'.

That´s soccer man...
In the first half the Austrian team was much better... result: goal for Poland.
In the second half was poland much better, than penalty... 1:1
Soccer sucks... (Two good teams = The lucky one wins...)
I hope Germany lose agains Austria, but this vision is just impossible... :(

Madbringer, you are exaggerating - Poland owned Austria since 30th minute. Watch it another time, if you wish.

Owned?

Possession: 51.8% to 48.2% for Austria.

Shots: 12 to 17 for Poland, most of which were fail shots from Krzynówek.

Accurate passes: 248 to 235 for Austria.

Bad passes: 56 to 63 for Poland.

You're right, we destroyed them on-pitch.

What is stopping you from telling me what you mean?

Because, we did not own them, we managed to push them back in the second half, but even then they managed to put out a few very dangerous counter attacks, and we couldn't score a second goal. And we never even got close to the kind of punishment they dished out in the first 30 mins to us.

Stop being such a blind fanboy. We played a shitty match, that is all.

If you "own" a team, you win 4:0 or 5:0... or even more...
Poland isn't a good team, the lose in important games (look back to the last World Cups...)

And Austria is not a strong team, when they winning,
is it like a sensation ;)
Poland was not good enough, and owning is something else.
Last owning in this Euro Cup: Holland 3:0 agains Italy,
and Italy played much better than Poland AND Austria together...
Maybe we see Poland in the next World Cup stronger,
i hope, but I don't belive it.

OK OK, maybe owned is not an appriopriate word x] But they did deserve to win and such acts of corruption are pa-the-tic. Austria was simulating as soon as they realise they weren't going to win -> pussies. They almost simulated a penalty earlier, but fortunatly, the judge had no right to whistle the shot. Makes my heart breake when I see such things.

But almost everything is falling out as everyone predicted, 'cept Netherlands-Italy and Germany-Croatia, it's all favourites winning so far.

So not that impressive, Y-man.

<hr>

Holu hells did Germany look bad. Low must really be wishing he brought a back-up keeper who could actually play by now, because this'd be the perfect time to send Lehmann home with an "injury".

Not really Lens' fault, the D overall was terrible, but he sure as hell wasn't helping.

As opposed to the Polish keeper, who was worth his weight in gold in this match.

Corruption?

It's a bit messed up that this extra-enforced rule of "no grabbing during free kicks/corners" is only being enforced now. They were supposed to enforce it all throughout the tournament but didn't. This referee is just the first one to do his job so far.

Messed up? Yes. But in the end the culprit is the Polish dude that pulled the Austrian dude down. He broke the rules, not the ref. Even Don Leo should realise that.

Romania - Italy wat

Justified result, although the Romanians will understandably be disappointed after Mutu's penalty in the final minutes of the match. This was an interesting game to watch, really. Italy had some good chances, but looked very fragile defensively. Good thing they have Buffon. Offensively, though, they looked pretty strong.

Romania played solid but more offensively than they did against the French, and they had Lobont to make some great saves.

Also, this is a great result for the Netherlands obviously. Now for the hopefully awesomes Netherlands - France game. BBC with John Motson commentary is brilliant in any case (Fifa '98 FTW).

 watched Italy Romania in the town square with a lot of people .. the tension was so thick you could cut it with a knife ...

Lobont saved our ass a good couple of times and i just couldnt believe MUTU failed that penalty kick.

my nerves are shot :)

I'm hoping Holland beats france so we'll have an easy game with them and they wont have a reason to fight anymore and probably send in not the best players

I'm actually very happy how's Romania shuffling the cards. Hopefully, they'll follow The Netherlands, 'cause both French and Italian teams sucks. :)

Wow, some more amazing stuff from The Netherlands. 5 top, top goals in 2 games. What a game by Ruud and Sneijder

Wow, 4-1 against France. Netherlands are looking extremely good. Maybe it's because of that chick in Brother Nones sig.
Talk about killing French morale when Robben (I think it was) did 3-1 immediately after France did their only goal.

Very entertaining game that was.
