What BoS division do you speculate is in Boston?

Is it 100% confirmed that Fallout has Midwest + east coast combined, or was it just a rumor?
Well leader of BoS in the trailer wears a coat with original BoS insignia(big cog at the left side); while other Paladins with T-60 have a Lyons BoS insignia(big cog at the right side).

So it's very much possible.

That's just idiotic. I don't understand how could they think that combining a fascist state with a bunch of do-gooders could be a good idea. Unless they retcon the Midwest BroS, which I will NEVER forgive.

Of course they'll retcon some of it, haven't they already in some aspects?

Not really.

They basically just went with the broad strokes approach to the Midwest BOS.

You know, they moved East to the Midwest and were stuck there for a bit.

The general consensus was that pretty much everything in Fallout Tactics happened except for The Calculator and the Beast Lords.

I am wiling to bet they've cut the "ghouls and super mutants allowed" part or they'll have them leave that back in the Midwest as a condition of fusing with the DC chapter or something.

That would be dumb, the fact that Midwest BroS allow muties in is one of their defining traits. The fact that they think about their goals seriously enough not to let stupid prejudice waste such potential.

Agreed. They're probably the smartest and strongest, though the original BOS were pretty powerful.

I am fairly sure that is again the Lyons' Jedis of Steel.

Yeah, I'll have to disagree. Their zeppelins, as revealed in the release trailer, don the Midwest BoS logo, so it clearly isn't a Lyon's branch. Besides, I just can't the imagine Lyons going out of their way to construct fully functional aircraft, even with the time jump.

Yes, this Brotherhood is both Lyon's and the Midwestern branch rolled into one, although heavily leaning towards Lyon's. Launch trailer certainly paints them as noble knights wanting to destroy the big bad Institute for the people of the wasteland. Only Midwest elements I see are the airship and recruiting outsiders. This seems like an interesting idea, but I have zero faith Beth will do it justice.

Oh goodie! I can't wait for Bethesda to piss on the lore and story of Tactics! :(

They do it a lot. Who knows, their grubby hands may reach the west coast soon...

If they do that maybe I should consider jumping off the Space Needle. Its painfully clear that Bethesda never played any of the original Fallouts or even New Vegas but they just take stuff from them that seems "cool" and "iconic" and add them into the game while slapping the Fallout brand on it.

Hold up. Based on the leaked achievements, it can be assumed that you cannot join the Institute. In the launch trailer, the BoS is shown as being hostile (although it'd be fair to assume that it was a player-caused aggression.) If they were attacking based on faction differences, it's possible that they won't be so one dimensional, with their own causes and goals. They could actually be teamed up with the institute in some way, seeing as how the only three mega-factions are the BoS, Minutemen, and the Railroad. Could explain why they would be hostile towards the player.

EDIT: Rewatched the launch trailer a couple times, and there's one part in particular that reminds me of the old tech-hoardy Brotherhood we know and love. Towards the end of the trailer, the guy in the zeppelin speaks about destroying the Institute to save humanity from itself. The whole point of the Brotherhood's existence is to steal tech from those deemed unworthy and inadequate to wield it. Sounds like a mission of total self-interest here, not some white-knight quest for justice.

Yeah, that at least sounds like a step in the right direction narrative wise. Let's hope it's not just Bethesda being out of touch and playing the "savior" angle straight...

Oh I certainly agree their is plenty of potential for this Brotherhood, it really depends on how things play out. FO3 also had plenty of story and faction potential. Biggest being Talon Mercs and The Rangers. I would welcome the idea of the Brotherhood working in it's own interest, and would be step in the right direction narrative wise as Walp mentioned, but man, I have a feeling we'll be seeing the Holy Knights of the Waste approach again. I do hope I'm wrong though.

The thing is, Fallout 3 COULD have been good. It had interesting factions that were made stale and bland.
