I found this interesting article about the problems Fallout 4 has that Beth fanboys won't admit. Now there is quite a bit that I disagree with the author about(like Fallout 4 being a good game or it having a cast of interesting characters, haha!) but he did bring up some good points and pointed out some glaring problems that Fallout 4 has. http://whatculture.com/gaming/10-major-fallout-4-problems-the-fans-wont-admit

And that right there was when I stopped reading.
I find it amusing that they opened the article by saying people shouldn't whitewash legitimate criticisms, brought up a whole bunch of serious problems for the game and yet still ended the article with nothing but positivity; if you say the combat, story and, difficulty are all frustrating then what makes it a good game?

Welcome to the 21st century of pussies. So polite I'm gonna puke rainbow if you don't mind.
Since 2009, after Mothership Zeta. And (we don't know this for sure but can feel it) was redone several times until it was simplified so even Pete Hines could understand it.
Sims, Rust and Pip-Boy minigames. Joke. The first two are terribly executed and lack of variety and the third is just there for no lore explanation.

    "Taking Bethesda's Apocalypse"

Motherfucker!, they are seriously crediting Bethesda here?, News flash ladies and gentlemen, Fallout was around far before Bethesda owned the IP. I mean seriously, don't call it "Bethesda's Apocalypse", it is Black Isle's apocalypse, and to deny that would be fallacious!

The power of PR. BIS created it but Bethesda make a hypetrain. Technically it's not Black Isle's either BTW, it was a division called Dragonplay and was not named on the first copies of Fallout.

Which is funny considering that Pete Hines is the worst PR-man ever happend to work in the industry.

I'm a 20th Century lad, I'll rip your shit apart if I don't think it's up to snuff >:D I've been doing just that to Fallout 3 for the last several months, mwuahahaha.

Also, Hines is actually worse than Randy Pitchfork, and that takes some effort.

That shit gets me every time, The back peddling. "Hey guys all these serious issues are present in this game, The story is boring and doesn't truly show a reflection of anything by the end of the game. Nothing comes to fruition, The Dialouge system is aids and lots of lore consistences. " Then towards the end of the article or whatever they then fall back on every established valid point they've created by saying. "But that is okay because it's bethesda etc) All i here is nothing but apologizing for a bad game, Something regressive leftest do for islam. Or evangelica neo cons who do the same for anyone who isn't a christian fuck them both and fuck people like this who try to open an honest discussion and then scilence themselves for said points they brought up because they're too afraid of having a differing opinion that is uniquely different from the masses.

Wow, Sounds like i said a bit of a repeat but i am honest when this makes me even more upset sometimes then the people who just like the game to begin with because at least their misinformed. These fuckers know about its flaws but try to balance in the middle and try to win both sides over. I got an idea how about people like this stop being massive pussies and actually stick to your guns. People can say things are bad and bring up a single good thing about it but the difference between that and shilling is that you don't regress on your already established thoughts and statements without a very big reason. Which i'll have you know these people don't it seems.

They also made another article titled "Top 10 games that don't deserve their high metacritic score." With fallout 4 as number 1. Probably wrote by a different editor. But i don't know. Seems like they want to keep treading that fine line between being either a bethesda drone or bethesda critic.

No, I strongly disagree. It has too many flaws. Internal consistency is non exeistent.
Shooting is still subpar at best.
    Guns suck.
    Craftings passable.
    Ignores all other games.
    Writing is mindnumbing
    The dialogue is awful.
    The dialogue wheel is cancer.
And those are just categories to fit smaller flaws into. Enjoyable game? For a few hours before my high wears off maybe...but great game? Come on man.
Feel free to disagree and have a nice day.

Hey, you should probably write your reply outside of the quote box, like this.
The game doesn't manage to explain the huge amount of raiders, what are they raiding? The farms that are all built out of scrap and produce basically nothing? It doesn't seem like you can base your economy around that.
While I agree with this, that doesn't really say much, 3 and NV's shooting mechanics were awful. Beating those 2 isn't exactly a quality test.
And the rest of the guns suck as well, they're all basically indistinguishable from one another, the only difference is statistics but they all feel fundamentally the same. Also, they really fucked up when designing them, a whole lot of the guns look like dog turds were lumped into a gun frame and flash freezed.
The most memorable line is "There's another settlement that needs your help!", characters don't talk like real people and very few have any actual motivations, plenty of lore is thrown aside in order to satisfy the Rule of Cool (™).
What was your favourite line? "Billy! Oh my GAWWD!", "We've got a raider problem" or, "There's an alien city buried under the Mojave."?

All and all, if you enjoyed the game then please, continue to! But don't say it's a great game, only the test of time can decide that.

Gamers that don't have much against repetition and enjoy games that are focused on being a time-sink (crafting, settlements, exploration) would probably enjoy Fallout 4 a lot.

it's a bit laborious but i'll do that for you

do the settlements not have farms? i could sworn they had farms.

i give credit where credit is due

how are the guns indistinguishable from one another? a laser rifle looks a helluva lot different than a plasma rifle, and an assault rifle looks different than a combat rifle. and what do you mean by 'feel'? i really don't understand how they 'feel' the same because different types of guns fire in different types of ways and are advantageous in certain situations. that last point about them looking like turds is completely subjective btw.

that line you pointed out is one of the most commonly heard lines in the game. that's like saying fallout new vegas's most memorable line is "patrolling the mojave almost makes you wish for a nuclear winter." so to use the settlement line as evidence that the game has bad dialogue all around is a bit fallacious. one line i find particularly memorable myself was

"The thing about happiness is that you only know you had it when it's gone. I mean, you may think to yourself that you're happy. But you don't really believe it. You focus on the petty bullshit, or the next job, or whatever. It's only looking back by comparison with what comes after that you really understand, that's what happiness felt like."

and as for the characters not having any actual motivations, that's true. y'know, except for the companions, and the faction leaders, some npc quest givers, and the main character themselves.

i have a suspicion that this forum would disagree with the test of time

Thanks, It makes replying to posts easier.
They do, they produce a surplus of about 3 food. Do the raiders live off of that small surplus? The raiders that outnumber the farmers by about ∞:1.
They all feel the same; the major difference between weapons is their stats, slight changes aren't enough to differentiate the weapons. Meanwhile New Vegas (and to a lesser extent 3) had Bolt-Actions, Machine Guns and, BB-Guns that all felt different, while fitting into the same categories.
All laser guns, regardless of stats, play the same. All Ballistics, regardless of stats, play the same. All plasma guns, regardless of stats, play the same. All explosives, regardless of stats, play the same. Etc.
Tell me that this looks good.

This is an assault rifle, objectively speaking it looks nothing like an assault rifle, both in real life and in Fallout.
What were they? Hancock leaves because he feels like it. Maxon's in the Commonwealth for reasons. The Institute repeatedly dicks over surface dwellers because they can.
Those aren't really great justifications, where's the ideological battle between factions that motivated most of the characters in NV? Where's the reasoning?
