Where will the next Fallout take place?

I like the idea of Detroit and Chicago. If the game world could be large enough to include both cities and areas in between, that would be spectacular. Can even have woodlands and snow.

Then a DLC could be Windsor.

For old factions that can tie previous games together and add to lore and canon:

MWBoS.
CWBoS-expanding west
Enclave-NOT Rehashed FO2 FO3 Enclave, but one with a different ideology and NOT the "bad guy".
Talon Company
FoTA-pilgramige east

New factions: slavers, merchants, industrious types, maybe even some union like faction, if in detroit.

I think Detroit and Windsor could be in the core game. The distance between Chicago and Detroit is too big to have both. Chicago would have to be a DLC or a separate game.

Seems like I heard somewhere the size of Skyrim was the size of Wisconsin. I would assume that includes dungeons. It is about a 4 hour drive between Chicago and Detroit. I like to think big, so Det and Chi would be.. epic.

But I wouldn't be heartbroken with one or the other, and DLC to fill it out.

Btw...if people wonder about travel..train. As far as not having the hero walk 250 miles.

My idea is for Detroit and Windsor to take up the core game. It would be something along the lines of Fallout: Motor City or Fallout: Detroit.

You would have the best (or worst) parts of Detroit to go through, and a Canadian group known as the Devil's Brigade in the Windsor area. Chicago would be the first DLC. Toronto would be the next. Cleveland would be the third. The fourth DLC would be GLC (Great Lake City) and would feature a faction known as the Great Lake Commonwealth(or Confedaracy). The fifth DLC would be the Great Lake War.

There are good reasons for all the cities I mentioned. Chicago is a rumored base of the Enclave. Toronto would be the headquarters of the Canadian Separatist that have scavenged the US occupied zones, and amassed a large armory of Power Armor and pre-war tech. Cleveland would be the territory of the Iroquois Confederacy. The GLC is made up of the descendants of a Naval pre-war base. They have access to weapons, supplies, ammo, and provide caravans and naval supply routes for the Great Lake area. They would be comparable to the NCR except they are much more disciplined and better equipped. They are also not as spread thin as the NCR since they are limited to a smaller territory.

Anyway, more to follow soon. Maybe with it's own thread.

Main Games:
1: Alaska - Think. Post-Apoclypse Alaska would be nice to see. A perfect addition for Hardcore Mode could be added (Frostbite Meter) There would be plenty of Lore that showed more about China's and America's war there before the Great War, Ruined Anchoredgte, Ice Floes, Oil Rigs (With No Enclave.), and ruinss of Major Cities like Anchorage.

2: Mexico City - Sure it'd be another desert but It would be nice to see how Mexico is doing. Plus I can think of a few refrences that would be around here (Cough, Cough, Raul's Ranch.) and it would have plenty of new factions and areas. And think of a huge population that's full of poverty and crime. Add a Nuculer Apoclypse and we're set.

3: London - It may be wayout in the UK but it would be a good city for Fallout. Imagine fighting your way up a Big Ben infested with Deathclaws. The only problem I can see is the creatures. I'm not sure Deathclaws are outside of America and Super Mutants are based around FEV. FEV is only fromm Mariposa and nowhere else. Unless Bethdesa screwed it up and shoved in some bullcrap they wouldn't be in London. Super Mutants are doomed as it is if they don't either:
A. Get Un-Sterile (If they were in the first place The Master would rules us all by now.)
B. Get more FEV or another process to become Super Mutants.
C. IMMORTALITY

Side Games

1: NCR Rpg - Probally a dumb idea but as a bonus game for someone who really is dedicated to Fallout or someone who likes less acion-ey RPGs you could just play the life of an NCR citizen. I think it would probally be a packinif they made it at all.

2: Vault Dweller RPG - Same Concept as the one above but diffrent. t woud just be another packin if made. They would both completely break the Fallout Gamestyle but they're COMPLETELY DIFFRENT games except set in the Fallout Universe. Just a though so that we could see the life of other people who aren't saving the wasteland.

i actually like this idea
in both FO1 and 3 i lamented the lack of vault-life that these games woulda had potential for.

I am more for keeping Fallout in mainland USA and have already mentioned several times that I would like to see a Fallout take place in Texas.

Alternatively Colorado would also be interesting, using the cities of Boulder, Denver, and Colorado Springs, and military installations like the Cheyenne Mountain Complex (completely nuked of course).

Seeing as MCA and Sawyer already made some ideas for this region in the past I could see them coming up with a cool campaign for this region.

I imagine Denver or 'Fort Denver' to be a NCR frontier city and prison camp.

Cheyenne Mt Complex, I though that's where Vault 0 is and the huge super computer

Correct but in general Fallout Tactics is regarded as non canon in the prime timeline of Fallout.

It seems more likely that as mentioned in Van Buren Cheyenne Mt Complex got obliterated by Chinese nuclear weapons, turning it into a big radioactive crater.

I believe I read in an interview somewhere, the next fallout (after new vegas) is being kept hush hush. The only hint that was given by todd howard was "Wasn't Fallout New Vegas fun?". That was all he would say on the subject. Further probing led to no avail. WIsh I could remember where I read it!

Personally I would like to see a return to the core region, set not long after the 2nd Battle for the Damn, possibly with news starting to trickle backwards that the NCR won.

Main faction, would be say the mutants fighting for more rights depending on which way you go it can play the politics game OR the all out civil war way, with the player deciding who to side with. (This is just a idea I pulled out of my rectum a few short moments ago I apologise profusely if it stinks)

Personally I don't want to go back to the Core Region as going there again feels like going backwards.
I rather move forwards = Eastwards and re discover the North American continent while hearing news from the West how progress is going there.

I'd like to see Detroit implemented somehow...

There are tons of interesting places I'd love to visit in game :)

The city is dangerous enough as it is but a few bandits never hurt anyone... oh wait.

I'd obviously love to see the next Fallout set in London (yes, yes I get the Americana thing, but it wasn't just America that got attacked during the war)

London would be fantastic for a fallout game, the city is built on an underground maze of tube lines! The monuments would look amazing! And who wouldn't want to see the Queen pop up as a ghoul!

HOWEVER...... I just looked it up online, Washington DC is approximately 177km2. Vegas (well what is called "the city proper") is supposed to be 352km. And London is 1570km2!! The last thing Fallout needs is a bigger (most likely glitchier) map!!

So given that I'm flying the flag for New York

And YES I did use the word "glitchier" :P

Yea I am guessing they would do NY next though, could be cool if pulled of right.

There has to have been at least ONE vault in NYC and I can picture they subway tunnels would have made for a nice impromptu shelter, but I am also taking a guess that the city it's self would have been bombed hard VERY hard.

You would think the Chinese would hit Washington DC very hard seeing as it was the nation's capital, and most of that still was standing, looking more like something from "Life after people" (perhaps a year or so after humanity disappeared).

I am pretty sure most of New York in Bethesda's New York would still be standing if they used that location.

Point well made Dutch, I am wondering though what would happen to structures in NYC like bridges say 200 years after multiple nuclear strikes in the area and no maintenance work carried out on them.

I would like to see them missing large sections of road way, along with the subway tunnels filled with water.

Well, New York had some kind of Nuclear Plant meltdown if IIRC. I agree though. Bethesda would leave many monuments intact if they made a Fallout in New York.

Just had a look an your right, From the Vault.

In 2065 a nuclear reactor, struggling to power the population of 17 million people, went supercritical for a period of about 5 minutes. While there was no explosion, the NYC incident coined the term "hot summer" for a heat-related electrical overload on nuclear systems.

Could be a excuse to add some more random / rampant mutations into the mix localised to the NYC area, I don't normally go in for the whole Beth bashing thing but I would HATE for them to try doing another Behemoth type creature it was a stupid idea to begin with and a even stupider one to try again. But I would like see something along the lines of massivly mutated sewer rats, and oddly Cat's in a urban wasteland I think cats would do well and over time would adjust to the new mutated prey by mutating themselves.

{Edited to fx a typo}
