who did you side with on your first playthrough

Why I choose to be evil?

Because being the good guy sucks, especially in Fallout 3 games: Fetch this, Fetch that.

You re basically being a loser saying everywhere he goes "hey man, can I help", " I really want to help, pleaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaase let me help!!!".

You are only a goody-two shoes if you want, you can always charge people for your help.

Every conversation about helping someone has this option. ;)

I'm actually still on my first playthrough now. I had a bit of a lapse where I stopped playing it. Before that, I'd only met the NCR and the Legion and didn't really like the idea of siding with either of them. Coming back to FNV after replaying F1 and F2, I'm more inclined to side with NCR but may side with the Followers now I've read they're in it. Depends how they're portrayed.

I do really need to see the other factions more, though. I'm about 18 hours in and haven't even got to The Strip or seen more than a few factions.

Usually side with the NCR on my playthroughs. I mean, who wouldn't be on the side of guys dressed as badass as the Veteran Rangers are? And guys who "chew nails and spit napalm" can't be all bad.

Can't stand the way the Legion treats women, so every playthrough I make a point of taking Boone along to Fortification Hill to ice Caesar.

House always struck me as an arrogant, narcissistic prick. so it's always fun to take him down a notch (I always leave him alive, but separated from his computers).

First -> Yes Man
Second -> Caesar's Legion
Third -> NCR
Now -> Mr. House

Siding with Yes Man was very cool, specially because you would Rule the Mojave, and because you had the option to choose what to do with all the tribes. Not like in the other playtroughs, where you HAD to DESTROY the Brotherhood of Steel. (Dude, they're just awesome)

Caesar's Legion --- well, being evil is just sexy, you know. Abusing, murdering, stealing innocent people... that's sweet.

NCR - oh, I don't know. Thinking about it, it seems to be the worst playtrough in the game. Not too funny at all, IMO. Actually, it is pretty stupid, because you don't even need to TOUCH the platinum chip in order to complete it.

Mr. House is a very interesting option specially because you can learn a lot of things about the Fallout World and the Mojave with him. And it is also an amazing option for players that want to have a Merc character (not too evil, not too good, doin' everything for money and power).

I did my Legion Playthrough as a female character, it was pretty funny, my character basicaly wanted to be a legion whore or maybe the Legate's/Caesar's wife? (nah I think Caesar is gay, he mourns Arcades Death if you sell him, wich I did) I couldn't end Boone's quest because acomplishing it leves your reputation with the Legion on the ground, so I had to kill him in novac, Cass didn't have any problem with me helping the Legion, nro did Veronica (even after I blew up the Bunker in Hidden Valley, Merciful Thug), I got Meat of the CHampions, and killed Kimball with the Archimedes II (the npcs have an special comment if you kill him with the Archimedes II, I love Obsidian) and the most evil act of all, I Tore SGT Teddy in HALF MUAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA! all in all a fun Playthrough.

Well I say he is gay because he gets incredibly attached to a slave that hates him, and forces him to be his philosophical sparing partner, and when Arcade comitts suicide Caesar mourns his dead, thats kinda weird for him.

you know that sounds in a strange way like the situation between the greek slave and the roman politican in the movie Spartakus (the old one) where the Slave escaped because of the "flirting" from his master.

I sided with the Legion because, y'know, evil is cool. I got bored with them pretty quickly (and missed Mr. House) though, so I ended up rushing through the main quest. My first 'real' playthrough was as a good-karma character with Mr. House, though I kept my options open until the end - I had 'idolized' with the NCR up until House sent me to the substation.

1st: Yes Man (This is main, "go-to" profile)

2nd: Legion (Hardcore profile)

3rd NCR (My "what if my character was a woman" profile)

4th House (I just wanted the achievement)

I thought the same thing, which is why you'd think arcade would love the legion.

I sided with legion cause their they only with some character. The NCR are a bunch of self ritious douchebags, and house is incredebly irritating, its obvious that he has become more machine than man. I don't know why, but the Legion characters were the only ones I could personally relate to save for the kings, and boone.

I played House my first time through, partially because I had accidentally closed off the NCR questline but mainly because I liked House's vision. Here's a man who was a genius to begin with and who's had 200 (likely computer-assisted) years to think things through on top of that, and whose stated aim is to take the human race from grubbing around in the irradiated dirt to once again dwelling among the stars. That impressed me. Granted, he's a bit fascistic, but every major faction in the game is guilty of pushing people around and taking what they want-- House, having a solid agenda (as opposed to the NCR's "See it, plant a flag in it, and then squabble over it internally" or the Legion's "Conquest for the glory of Caesar, jihad on all infidels"), has to push far fewer people and take far less. Plus, Caesar's a douche and the NCR are too fractious and bureaucratic for their own good.

To shorten (and nerd) it up, House is Lawful Neutral claiming good intentions, Caesar is Lawful Evil claiming good intentions, and NCR (while full of good people trying to get by) is as a whole Lawful Stupid and Chaotic Stupid in equal measures and their only aim is to spread aimlessly. I didn't see much of a choice there.

(I avoided Yes Man purely for metagame reasons. Since the game couldn't possibly know what I intended to do with Vegas if I went with him, it didn't seem like his ending would be as satisfying as the ones for the factions with strongly pre-defined goals.)

I went independent (Yes Man). The idea of being Sovereign Lord of Vegas tickled my ego a bit too much to pass up on, especially once I realized that House really isn't that good of a guy.

I managed to get inducted into the BoS, but their ending, the Omerta ending and the Great Khan ending was less bright than I'd hoped, probably because I managed to bungle Oh My Papa, How Little We Know and the NCR questline rather badly.

At level 50, there weren't really that many threats left. I ended up using Elijah's LAER and the Elite Riot Gear with and upgraded ED-E and Cass (in Riot Gear and the Survivalist's Rifle) as backup.

Also, the last words of Yes Man were rather worrisome, don't you think?

Next time, I think I'll go Legion. Might be fun.

My first play through was NCR, just because they seemed to be the "good" faction, and I always do a good run of the game first.

My second play through was with House, and I used that set to get the independent achievements as well.

Current game is siding with Mr. House with the first four DLC installed.

What can I say, despite his flaws I like Mr. House, both his plans and the character himself.

first time i sided with ncr because i loved their rangers, and heavy troopers

then i went with the legion just to test it out, i hate it

and secondly i went with yes me, i don't like that ending because nothing changes,everything stays the same.

On my first time through I sided with NCR, didn't even beat the game. Second time through I sided with NCR, doing all their possible quests up until I got to the strip, when I turned on them and went with Yes Man, which was pretty fun. Third time through I went with caesar, definitely my favorite of the three. Haven't went with House yet, something about the guy makes me distrust him.

You should try it out. It is one of the better endings I think.
