Will in ten years Fallout still be relevant as a series?

Fallout Series Has Had Amazing Longevity I Think This Will Continue Even 10 Years Which is Most Likely Going To be Fallout 5.

You misread me. I am not asking if the Fallout IP is still financially viable.
I am asking if the franchise still viable as a creation or a setting that influences other PA themed games, or sequels of its own.

I am asking this because Fallout 3, 4, and 76 are mostly about milking out Fallout's old ideas and not doing anything of interest of its own other than retconning lore. (more BOS, Super Mutants, Ghouls, Enclave, etc)

In 10 years I will be 47 and probably close to death. Remember that when you buy Fallout 77.

I have to admit that I like the Enclave, they make a good evil faction (they just don't have enough space in Fallout universe in my opinion and the BoS have too much), but I feel what you mean. I also think that a Fallout in a different part of the world could be a nice change for a starter, adding new enemies with different abilities and weaknesses, I would also appreciate having Fallout, not 200 years after the bomb fell, but maybe in the first 10 years or so, see how the world goes to hell that sort of thing. I really want to know what happens in the rest of the world, is there someplace left untouched, I mean it's kind of hard to believe that every inch of the world is a total wasteland (of course we know the Mojave is, for the most part, untouched by the Nukes). If possible let the "Alien" bs out of the story (it doesn't have its place in a post-apocalyptic game and has more emphasis on Survival aspects, I want to feel the apocalypse not just see it around me). Also, an alliance between the Enclave and the Institute, to get rid of the BoS would have been nice to see (of course it's all just ideas, why not introduce a completely new faction), maybe even Vault-Tec elite members that Fallout franchise did almost nothing to explore and we know for a fact that they conduct experience in almost all Vaults, that would have been awesome to get to know more those magnificent bastards. Another question is Fallout should return to a turn-based or not (for me I think it should, but I feel that is pretty unlikely under Bethesda, and over the last 10 years, younger players know Fallout more as an action game with some"RPG" elements (or a Dragon-like boss in FO76, which just confirm what I was saying earlier that don't have its place in a post-apocalyptic game).

If the Enclave had a base on the moon I would roll my eyes and then say "Ok they could do that with enough prep" just because I want Nazi's on the moon.

Well, it could not be worse than a robot chasing plot from Van Buren's Fallout 3. By the way, I have a hard time deciphering if you're serious or purely sarcastic.

Speak for yourself, I liked that plotline.
The idea that some robots are chasing you some unknown reason makes me only want to find out why.

Also the Enclave are played out. We should not have seen them after Fallout 2, period. (we blew up their headquarters, leadership, and main manufacturing center)
Only some remnants and leftovers like in FNV that now try to make a new life for themselves.

Well, I like the Enclave, but I agree with you they had their time, well you must like Resurrection if you like to be chased right away by a group/faction for unknown reasons. I just feel that Fallout should back the f... down on robots, synths, and all that for the main plot. I mean, you seem to be quite a few that are done with the Enclave, but evil-doer hiding behind a bunch of Super Mutants, robots/synths or ghouls (Resurrection) is not appealing anymore too, for that, I would roll my eyes too ... This plot has been used enough in my book, it's good to have mystery and all, but creativity is also important. (Of course, my idea about the Enclave/Institute alliance is not better by any means, just so we're clear on that) It would be nice to know more about Vault-Tec, what they intended to do with all the data they must have collected from all the Vault experiences if they collect any at all.

Yep, I did like Resurrection. I did think there was a bit of a plot dump at the end though.

Do remember that the 'robots chasing the player' plotline was made up when there were only three Fallout games (FO1, 2, and FOT).
So then it was pretty different from the start of the previous main series games.

I mean, you seem to be quite a few that are done with the Enclave, but evil-doer hiding behind a bunch of Super Mutants, robots/synths or ghouls (Resurrection) is not appealing anymore too

I believe that every main Fallout game should have its own story line and unique themes, no repeats of previous games such as as a new Super Mutant army or a remnant of the Enclave.

Are we talking FO1/FO2 Vault experiments, or FO3/FO4?
Well the Vault experiments were suppose to be about collecting information for a space program the Enclave was working on to travel to another star system and colonize another planet, to see how feasible and successful such a program would be.
For this Vault Dweller communities were subjected to various situations and problems to see how they would deal with these conditions, though some of the experiments were rather ridiculous and whatever information may come out of it seems more to satisfy some sadist's curiosity.

In my own ideas I would like to get back to the Enclave's space program even if the Enclave is no longer around to make use of it.
Another group has come across the Enclave's technology and is making use of it for their own goals.

I didn't know about the space program, in which Fallout entry do they talk about it? Well, your idea from a new group collecting Enclave technology sounds interesting. May not appeal to everyone who is done with the Enclave identity and doesn't want to hear about them again. Also, the idea to see the universe of Fallout in the next months/years would be nice, to see if the US had the time to nuke China too would be nice to explore, maybe see the world of Fallout in the eye of the Communist (they too were struggling for resources after all this is why all started all)

The vice president in Fallout 2 also talked about the Enclave's space program. Mind you, he is a bit of a loon.
He was a parody of a real vice president who has some 'interesting' thoughts.

This group would not be about resurrecting the Enclave, they just need some of the Enclave's tech along with other resources for their own plans.
And it would be one of many plotlines going on in my ideas.

The main plotline would be about conflicts between city states over territory and resources, along with a trade war/conflict with neighboring governments that have been making their way into the region, and an invasion of the Legion.

Well, I could be interesting for sure, but an invasion of the Legion ... I don't know with all the possible more "Hi-Tech" factions and the BoS is STILL present and STRONG in the Fallout universe, if they regroup they might just crush the Legion, if not, pretty sure NCR would agree to a truce with the BoS (indefinitely or at least temporarily) of course all this depend on WHERE your plot take place, maybe the Legion is way too stronger in Colorado to be stopped who knows, however, Marcus (the Super Mutant in FO2 and NV, always listen to someone that live long like this fella, they old wisdom) speak about the Legion saying they will eventually being tired of Caesar ideals and most likely dissolve into petty tribes again (of course Caesar might be already dead depending on the chronology of your plot, but I tend to agree with Marcus on that history speaks from hitself in Fallout and real-world alike on that), my point is that the Legion days were already on the clock if you ask me. But Fallout has a weird way in way of warfares, BoS defeating Enclave who are more advanced in Tech, BoS being defeated at Helios One by the NCR who have a bit less technology on their side, and the same for NCR vs Legion who gave them some serious beating in multiple fronts in the Mojave, it's like the number is all that matter or luck for all it seems, it just not represent what the reality of War actually really is, of course, technology is not all, long story short, I think the Legion would suffer the same fate as the Enclave at a certain point (or maybe not). In the end, what's funny (and surely not realistic) is that a single person (we, the players) can shape the world pretty much as we see fit (nice for a role-playing game, but not a thing you'll ever see in our world).

My idea is not set in the core region, and takes roughly place around the same time or not long after Fallout New Vegas.
The Legion that would appear in it, would be so far away that direct communication with the leadership/Caesar and any news regarding what happened at Hoover Dam would take months to reach them.

The BOS and the NCR also do not appear in this.
Some people in the region may know about either of these from travelers from the West, but neither has direct or indirect influence here.

There are actually pretty convincing explanations given for why the more technologically advanced side doesn’t always triumph.

1. The BOS didn’t defeat the Enclave by itself, it was an alliance between the BOS and NCR. And the NCR is quite technologically competent at this time, capable of arming their capital police with gauss rifles and making use of force fields in their capital. Not to mention that the Enclave’s main base and headquarters had just been destroyed along with most/all of their leadership, leaving only leaving only a relatively minor outpost/fueling depot to their name.

2. The BOS-NCR war was a case of a tiny technologically advanced faction going up against a vast post-war nation capable of fielding a much larger army and possessing the infrastructure to manufacture and replace weapons and armor (and most importantly, personnel) on a large scale. The BOS did pretty good at the start of the war, but they simply were not able to keep up with the NCR war machine. Helios One was probably the last major battle between the two.

3. The NCR-Legion war has parallels to America’s war in Vietnam. On the one hand you have a ruthless, dedicated fighting force going up against an army of conscripts that for the most part don’t really want to be there and don’t have a dog in the fight. The NCR-Legion war is quite unpopular back home which prohibits the NCR from going full-on total war against the Legion. If the Legion were actually posing a threat to the NCR homeland then the war would be a different story.

I’m sure others could explain this better but I’m kinda strapped for time here and can’t go into more detail.

sincerely and deeply doubt fallout will be relevant as a series in 10 years, i think it had its time to influence the big players (Bioshock as a whole) when the first two games came out and that whole retro-futurist aesthetic got torn from its arms and ran off with like a baby being dragged away by dingos but that was it that was the flash in the pan as far as impact goes. who knows though maybe bethesda will whimsically stop sucking and fallout 5 WONT be a game that rips things off from whatever is big in indie circles come its release

Fallout 5, you, a vault dweller, must go on a journey to find <significant other> and face the horrors of the wasteland (ghouls, radroaches, radscorpions, super mutants, deathclaws, mirelurks, <insert recognizable enemy>) on this journey you encounter the BROTHERHOOD OF STEEL and <insert one or two interchangeable factions> whom you must join with to find <significant other> and destroy the looming threat of THE ENCLAVE (or <insert advanced faction>) to save the wastes!

Actually they proved the existence of manbearpig so he knows what he's talking about.
