Dudes, don't get cocky, remember this is the first time you scored in a WC and the first time you won in a WC. You have tradition, skill, quality, everything against you when playing Brasil. There's no way you'll even manage to tie it. It's *Brasil*

And Italy played it's old game. I hate those guys. So much.

Brasil has a weak defence, though, so that may be positive. Especially if the Australian start playing it physically.

Brasil isn't the kind of team to give up offensive dominance easily, especially considering their midfield.

Their keeper is good enough, too.

Brasil is the original spelling, those that speak english are the ones that normally change the "s" to "z" in many portuguese words.

Ey, I'm not calling Belgium 'België' either
Anyway, this has ceased to be funny now.

Dida has been fumbling a lot with Milan, though.
And Brasil isn't really the team to give up offensive dominance, but they aren't really a team to work really hard either. Especially with an offense and midfield concentrated almost solely on attacking, and backs that are very aggressive as well, if they loose the ball in midfield, they could very well get in trouble.

And what a surprise, they did gave up their offensive dominance and Croatia took over the game. Brilliant game by the Croats, the Brazilians played as they were in 1994. Still they won the 1994 Cup...

If everything plays as it should today, with the classic good teams winning, I'll make a lot of cash. But then again, I've seen a lot of bullshit, with old good teams being shitty, and old shit teams being good.

I'm pretty sure Germany and England will pull it off, and I hope Spain will too, but that's the riskiest one in my opinion, even against Ukraine.

I'm NEVER EVER betting on Sweden again. Fucking divas. Paraguay will hand their asses to them on a silver plate. France is a lost cause. Their performance against Switzerland was beyond abysmal.

I guess both my countries suck at football.

Pfft, dude, I don't really think Australia will ein the WC, but jeez I realise the circumstances.

And who cares if it's Brazil or Brasil, you don't pick up spelling when I say specialise if the word spelt teh yankee way is specialize, or some shit.

Anyways, I think we will at least get to the the next stage, after the group rounds, but I always hope for better

The Spaniards played brilliantly in defeating Ukraine. They far outclass the Australian team and probably most others. They might finally break the underachievers stigma this time.

Yeah, they have a very good team.
I'm guessing it's because they, unlike any other team, have no old geezers to slow them down. They played on the highest rythim I've seen any team play on this world cup, despite the heat. And each and every one of their players is technically very skilled and plays on the highest level - Spain might get very far this year.

At times, the temperature in some stadiums reached peaks of over 36° with very high humidity.

so yes, it was pretty damn hot.

Tunesia v. Saudi Arabia was a surprisngly fun match.

But Germany v. Poland kicked ass! Too bad ze Germans won.

Goddamn Germans.
Last minute, again.

I really didn't like watching Germany-Poland, though. Every attack stopped some 3 meters from the box.
Ah well.

You should see people's faces here. It's like the Pope died, or something.

Ah well. At least, I hope people will shut the hell up about the world cup in the news. All everybody talks about is those semi-naked dudes running after a ball, it's exasperating.

Especially when you know Mexico is going to win.

I'm getting a real kick out of walking around humming the Deutschland, Deutschland ueber alles" to the melody of a funeral March.

A good game it was, IMO, too bad our team botched their first match. And, the Germans are sneaky bastards, but for once, it wasn't a bliztkrieg.

Oh, and the Polish coach is going to die, I guess.

Be sure to include "Celsius" or "centigrade" next time you are addressing teh barbarians. ;)

Don't teh Aussies use Celcius too? I thought it was only teh Murikans that used Fahrenheit, along with their other stupid non-decimal measurements.

I suspect that someone in Spain paid off the ref. I mean two red cards for nothing? It's not like the Spanish were going to lose.

Brazil played poorly, but then they usually play poorly during the early games. I have money on Brazil, but I have my hopes for Australia. Still Australia has two decent players who won that game against Japan- and the Japanese played lazy. The rest of the Australian team looked like they had lost going into the second half. Even the fans were falling asleep until the last few minutes.
