1-1 Leevi, their goalkeeper made a fantastic exhibition.

Holland made over 500 passes and had an 80% percentage of good passes, they are definitely playing well, even if the defense was a bit shaky at times.

Iran without the duo that plays in Germany is really weak, a disapointement.

Now for Portugal-Angola, i'll be back in a few hours...

I don't know anything about them, but i know they'll win. BTW did they beat Sweden?
TNT does have a nice ring to it

but no, they lost. i was forced to watch as we were having beers on the terras at a mates place, but the TV was on... *sigh*

I didn't have the guts to bet on Portugal-Angola. Fitting match, though, we'll see how it goes.

Unless I was hallucinating yesterday, the score was 0-0.

Well, at least we had some fun watching the game over here in Germany.

Germans never played nice football... but somehow we managed to have better scores than the Netherlands all the time...

You have to admit that the first and the last goal were really nice ones.
Oh, the goals were decent. Those two were some nice strikes, but really, the quality of play was abysmal. Especially the defense, that was bloody ridiculous.
Hell, Trinidad & Tobago played way, way better than the Germans, really.

Okay. Thanks. Did they win or lose, I don't care. They're still the best team!

Germany has only played the opening match, which they won 4-2. They played baaaaahaad. We'll see how they do next.

You still have to explain your interest in them, though. They're hosting the WC and making gazillions out of it, which is fine, but they have little chance of winning and pretty much know that already.

Gamn, the Czech lost Koller. That's bound to hurt. By a large margin.

I'm not actually that sure if Australia's victory was deserved, but nice comeback nonetheless.

Damn, those Czechs really kicked some Murikan ass...

I guess my dreams of a USA - Iran match are becoming more and more unrealistic now :(

Hasn't he been on a Germanophilia run since he drank some alcohol in Berlin?

I'm more interested in knowing why Germany would 'need' to win, though.

Well, they do still have Koller.

Egbleh, I wrote Koller? Damned WC news in the background. Baros, they still have Baros. And Rosicky, of course.

Interesting match today between Italy and Ghana. I'll tell you, in the middle of first period I think Ghana played really well and had a decent chance of winning, then they lost some spark a couple minutes before Italys 1-0 goal. I really think Ghana should have gotten a penalty shot for that second trip in the penalty area. The first was questionable and probably not worth a penalty even considering that Italian dude stretching his arm out, but the second was pretty clean, IMO. Had they gotten the shot as they deserved and scored to 1-1, I'm not sure if Italy would have nailed a second goal despite putting more force on the offense.

We played very well and dominated the game for most of the time, with many failed chances. Losing to that lone, dodgy goal would have been tragic and undeserved. I don't see why the other side was so confident. People should be aware that our sports teams never give up, although they do sometime suffer a collapse if they get cocky. It was worth staying up till 2:00 AM just before my exams to see my team make history. Interestingly, our bookies predicted that an Aussie (ranked 42nd) win was more likely than a Japanese (18th) one as well. Go the H factor!

By the way, what's the story with that weird music that they seem to play after every game that sounds like the Village People 'Go west...?'

I'm glad we didn't lose to Japan, it'd suck to get into the World Cup finals after all this time just to get our arses handed to us. At least now it looks as if we put up a fight.

Of course, now we have to bend over and get fucked by Brazil. :(

Hey, even though the only goal for Japan was that scrappy thing, we did so very well to get those 3 goals in the last 8 minutes... But I do think that we will draw, at best, with Brazil, but I'm still hoping for a slight victory.

I guess it reinforces the fact that Aussies never in, no matter the circumstances, and that the rest of the world should never slack off, even that far into the game!!!!
