Your "WTF" moments in NV playthroughs

I am this guy. And unless you absolutely want to be jumped on at level five by three guys with 1kish HPs wearing good armor and top quality weapons, don't bother. The idea is sound, but the implementation is terrible.

No, I was at full health and I was wondering in the middle of nowhere then BOOM! my head disappears off my shoulders
 
First playthrough of the game, right after I picked up Boone. I begin walking down the road, when the game suddenly cuts to a gecko with its head going *pop*

I say, "wtf, what just happened."

And that is how I learned that Boone is the Garrus of New Vegas and he became my best bud.

And then Veronica started getting OHKs on Deathclaws with a ballistic fist.

If only you could have 2 human companions at once...

My first WTF moment was my first NV Deathclaw. I had been sniping them in FO3 with relative ease. Usually two shots and I'm done. The first time I met a Deathclaw in NV was north of Goodsprings. I forget what rifle I had, but it had a scope. From quite a distance I shot the Deathclaw and I must have made it mad. It came charging at me and I was pumping one round after another into it. I think I even reloaded once. It ran up to me, SLASH, I'm dead. WTF!

I learned to respect them in the Mojave after that. I bought the Anti-Materiel rifle from the Gunrunners as soon as I could and made a point of finding a cliff to perch myself on where they couldn't reach me before I started shooting at them again! These Deathclaws are worthy kin to the ones in FO1 and 2.
 
Started a new playthrough yesterday and was cruising through the earlier game. I'm thinking to myself "is it on easy or something? Then I check the difficulty: Hard.

Might be that I started the game with 9 luck.
 
Decided to equip my two favourite companions, Veronica and Cass, with the valence radii-accentuator. When Veronica went bald, I didn't mind so much. It sort of suits her as a scribe with the BoS. But Cass... Cass doesn't look good bald. And it's bloody odd. When my pc wears it, he doesn't lose the First Recon Beret. The accentuators take the eye wear slot so it's a bit of a WTF that Cass loses her hat... and her hair. Poor girl.
 
this was shortly after release, so no patches.


Boone got stung by a cazadore, he wouldnt use the antivenom....so i gave him a stimpack.....

And then the other time the reputation for NCR glitched out, and turned to "hated". But i had just gotten to the point where they give you the radio.

So the ranger who comes and gives it to you instead started attacking me and Boone, it was out of nowhere and we both died.
 
Oh mines was funny I wasn't really thinking and I set up a bunch of frag mines to ambush some legion characters well an ncr soldier got caught in the blast and both factions stopped fighting each other and shot me to death :D.
 
Judah Kreger is now Hostile, I didn't even attack him at all, so now I can't complete Arcade's quest, someone knows of a console command to cancel hostile behavior?
 
My first wtf moment was with the area behind goodsprings, where you can see New Vegas.
I began to walk towards New Vegas with Bone and ED-E and suddenly we got attacked by some of the hardest god damn flies ever.
We died pretty fast.
 
I had that reaction to Cazadores too when I first found them in the same area. Not as bad as NV Deathclaws, but still WTF! I recommend a good SMG (10mm with handload ammo or 12.7mm).

I went through the same thing, except I'm just with ED-E. When NPCs constantly nagging about Deathclaws and with a Radscorpion nest just below Goodspring Graveyard, I figure it's better if I sneak around through Tribal Village. Who knew the devs, EVIL devs, cleverly put the new, "alien" predator;Cazadores scattering around the area.

I thought they're mere glorified Bloatfly, just with bigger wings to get clip. Damn, they rape ED-E....HARD. oh, and me too :D

Heh heh, I find the last one actually funny.

One WTF moment I had was before I got Lonesome Road.
After I left Big MT I decided to check the BOS bunker for some supplies, but the moment I entered everyone started to act like I was a hostile, including the armory officer.

None of them really attacked me but they all kept coming after me and pointing guns at me.
I felt rather unwanted.
