Your "WTF" moments in NV playthroughs

Sounds like a glitch. I've been through that pass on every playthrough and that never happened to me.

Walk up to the Cap Counterfitter's Shack - no enemies in sight/no red ticks on radar -- go inside for a minute to loot the place, come out.... Bam! swarmed by cazadores!! died like 5 times before I decided to reload a previous save and go hunting for the cazadores BEFORE entering the shack.

Same thing happened at Gypsum Trainyard, with Blind Deathclaws! But with them I was able to sneak away, then pick them off with sniper.

With Skyrim being what it is I started another NV playthrough over the weekend and was surprised to discover something new: Cliff Briscoe picks his nose!

He actually has an animation of picking his nose nose then looking at his finger. Hilarious.

WHAT? I dont think thats really a 'wtf' moment, more like a 'i never noticed this before' realization.

Spending about half an hour at low level figuring out how to kite the Cazadores away from Bewer's Beer Bootlegging was a little wtf for me, but satisfying once I accomplished it. Then looting the place and walking back out in the respawned swarm of them...into instant aggro mode. WTF for sure! I would have thrown the controller and ragequit, if I could afford to replace controllers. I had to go back to a much earlier save because I couldn't escape them no matter what I tried. My fault for going in there at low level on a single save, I guess, but having the whole swarm respawn instantly seemed like a really cheap shot, to me.

Also the night patrol and the man-made storm in Happy Valley...BoS are morons. It would have made sense to run the storm during the day and patrol at night. Or vice versa. But to have the storm AND the patrol at the same time, and leave the place unprotected the rest of the day? WTF? Also, if there's a raging storm, you don't need to go out into it to defend a bunker with only one entrance. Sentry at the door, problem solved.

"WTF" is completely subjective. And since my first reaction to seeing it was to actually say "what the fuck?"...

It's not WTF as in nonsense, but the first time I managed to find Benny, I actually trusted him. It was pretty shocking to see their bodyguards entering. Of course, then I loaded the autosave unloaded my magazine.

I think trusting Benny counts as a "WTF" moment. What were you thinking? He shot you and left you for dead? :D

I had two funny bugs when I was playing the game yesterday.

The first one was when I went to Fortification Hill/The Fort the first time, having Arcade as my companion.
I had just spoken with Caesar and when I emerged from his tent Arcade started talking to me, for some reason his hands were suddenly HUGE, leaving me stunned for a sec.
After reloading it the hands were normal again.

I honestly should have taken a screenshot of it as it was weird.
Pretty sure such huge hands would have made him popular with men (or any women if Arcade ever becomes curious about the fairer sex)

The second one happened when I went to Hoover Dam to speak the colonel.
I decided to check out the Quartermaster for some extra ammo and came into the supply room while the guy was eating.

The moment I started the conversation he faces me with an open mouth and pouted lips, as if he wanted to kiss me or was ready to give a blow job.
Again, I really should have taken a screenshot but I did not think about it at the moment.

Got to Camp Golf on the playthrough i started today. And what do i see upon the arrival? There, among the NCR chump squad members stands Victor  I try to get near, when all of the sudden, gayo turns around and backpedals like a mother off into the wastes. As if he sensed he was about to get falcon punched straight in the anal servo.

^ The pic in your sig is definitely giving me a "WTF" moment...

And I've been meaning to "WTF" this one for a while and never do so...

Camp McCarran. Only one fast travel location. Nellis gets three. Freeside gets two (three if you count the Strip entrance), etc, etc. And McCarran only gets one? WTF!?! Contreras' supply shack really should have been one.

That bugged me too. I hated walking all the way around that fucking place to get to the shack.

On my Second playthrough, I decided to do the 'Crazy, Crazy, Crazy' quest which I had avoided on my first. I was headed up there with Boone and Rex watching my Six, when a damn Mutant gives me a heart attack. I target here with my Anti-Material Rifle in VATS and blow his head off. I walk up to loot him, and to my misery it was a named NPC...I think it was 'Neil'. Anyway, I continue up the mountain, half of me wanting to turn back. I finally get past some well-armed muties, and literally as my Finger was about to push the start button, My character flops down on the ground because of Radiation poisoning.

"Okay..." I said, and eventually got back to where I was. I laughed as I used my RadAway to foil that pesky Radiation, and just when I progress a LITTLE more, my Character is blindsided and Insta-killed by a Deathclaw.

"One LAST Time..." I grumbled. I got back to where I was when I was blindsided, This time using my seldom used Grenade Launcher. I barely made it. As I approached the gates of Black Mountain, I could almost hear heavenly angels singing, but then I was quickly gunned down by a Super Mutant.

I then took the game out of my XBox, and took a One Month Hiatus from the Mojave Wasteland.

My WTF moment would have to be the first time I saw the Strip. I thought to myself, "Surely this isn't all there is to it...", but that was it. I would have been pleased with two more casinos, or a few more people to talk to. I actually had a dream about going through another gate , and there being another area on the Strip. I loved the game, but the Strip was a little disappointing. The Graphic Novel that came with the game made the Strip look much more interesting than it actually was. Still one of my favorite games, but that part let me down a little. If they made the gambling as interesting as it was on Red Dead Redemption, then the Strip would have been much better...

Been playing honest hearts and I brought my trusty gauss rifle along. I got bored and decided to shoot the scout companion into a canyon. He instantly passed out and flew completely across the canyon up onto an adjacent rock shelf high above. He laid there for a minute then woke up and jumped off the shelf to get back to me, falling into the canyon and passing out on the rocks below. So I jumped into the canyon intending to land in the river but it wasn't deep enough and I died on impact, the stealth suit feeding me stimpack after stimpack and talking in deep slow motion trying to revive me.

EDIT: Another one

I started a new game to try an evil playthrough. Sided with the powder gangers at goodsprings and did everything for them at the prison, killing all the soldiers in the invasion. When I was in the ncr station to the south I start the quest to clear the ants from the road to the east. As soon as I get there a team of ncr rangers approaches me out of nowhere and tells me to improve my reputation and stuff. When the conversation ended they turned around and killed all the ants for me.

Thanks guys

You know that kid Max who runs around in Freeside? Well, once, I go to talk to him, and he responds in the voice of a Khan, his face not moving "FUCK OFF AND DIE". And then he went on his way. Talked to him again and my game crashed. Weird.

The same thing happened to me, only I made them help me with the radscorpions in the abandoned gas station nearby.

AND THEN...

I came back a day later, and they were still around! I started walking towards Nipton and ran into half a dozen giant ants hanging around a corpse of a radscorpion on the road. The Rangers took care of them and ran off. "Too bad", I thought. "I could have used them in the raider ambush at the Nipton Road Rest Stop."

AND THEN...

I tried sneaking around the ambush and noticed that the rangers were waiting on the other side! I ran into the location, triggered the ambush and my trusty rangers gor drawn into a long fight with the raiders. I mostly hung back and picked off stragglers.

FINALLY...

The raiders were dead, but the rangers were still shooting. Then I realized two of them were shooting at eachother! No idea why. Well, one bought the farm, and the remaining ran around for a bit before disappearing on the horizon.

Weird.

That is indeed weird. And after the amusement wore off I'd be pissed at them for stealing my kills.
