Does anyone remember ANY Fallout 3 characters?

That "there's really no difference between him and Eden" quote was just showing how Bethesda failed in showing Autumn's character in their writing. He's apparently held back by his humanity, but he's still a monster who brutally murders countless people. To me that doesn't add up. Visually he shows just as much restraint as Eden does, but apparently (according to Beth's crap stupid two-faced writing) he doesn't want to commit mass genocide (even when all I saw with Enclave under Autumn control going around murdering people) What I'm getting at is, we never EVER see this humanity Eden mentions

It rather seems like you played Fallout 3 in good way, ignoring all dialogues and story, trying to achieve maximum fps exprience.
You really didn't saw conflict Autumn-Eden? And if you noticed this, you didn't thought what was it origins?

Not true. I'm one of those weirdos who has to listen to everything, hear every dialogue, speak to every character. The reason I made this thread was because I suddenly realised how little I actually remembered of any of it. And my memory is sharp, I can remember quotes from almost any medium, as long as it interests me. The fact that I can't remember much from FO3 says something.

The characters i nNew Vegas barely have any consistent character.

What do you mean? Most New Vegas characters seemed fine to me most of the time.

Well there's Fawkes, Moira, Eden, Three Dog, that weird pimp guy you buy Clover off, my bby gurl Clover, Sydney, Harold, Daddy james, Dr Li and her lust for Liam Neeson's peen, Dave, Gaaaaaary, the two ghoul lesbians and their adopted son Gob, Butch, Amata and...

I'll have to get back to you on that..

Who's Clover?
She's a companion that, truth be told, is pretty weaksauce. I dunno, I tend to use my imagination a lot when playing Fallout 3 - hence why I like Clover so much despite her, objectively, being just as boring as the rest of the companions.

I remember Harold, some prick Head Outcast, another prick Outcast in Operation: Anchorage, Liam Neeson, the Irish pub owner, the angsty vampires, the Anti- Communist Iron Giant, some Mercenary woman in some archives, and a lot of people whose names either escape me, or are just blank slates.

Yep that's basically me

Unfortunately, I remember most of them... but really only as the plot devices that they are (i.e. X named NPC is there for Y gameplay reason), not any perceived depth to their backstory.

I remember Harold, Moira, PC's father, colonel Autumn and president John Henry Eden for the same reason I remember Caius Cosades from Morrowind, Martin from Oblivion, or Ulfric Stormcloak from Skyrim - they were all HORRENDOUS.

Three Dog, however, is on a whole new level of retarded. He transcended reality and achieved godhood in terms of absolute idiocy and absurdity. After creating this abomination of a character, I deem Bethesda irredeemable. Seriously. What. The. Fuck.

It is okay to cry. Here we understand.

Yes, so my name is Akratus, and I've played Fallout 3.
Hiii Akratus!

I've been clean for 4 weeks now!

I know what you mean. Everything about his character is just stupid. The only news he reports is about you, he constantly bitches at you for any bad choices you made, even when you're good karma. He's in the middle of a warzone, thus having no access to food and supplies, his precious satellite dish in an even more dangerous area with even less defence. Oh and of course "THIS IS THREE DOG AAAAAAAAAAAOOOOOOOOOOWWWWWWW" kill me

Dad,Colonel Eden, Liberty Prime, the stupid shopkeeper girl, That Doctor who Dad knew, The President AI of the Enclave, Three Dog.

Thats it.

BRICK.. who is obviously VASQUEZ from Aliens

Cerberus... the patrol gutsy in Underworld, "...rotting zombie maggot farms, and i'd send them all back to hell if I could..Guns are Hot, firing for effect, welcome to hell you zombie freaks." My fav dialogue of the game.

Griffon.. post apocalyptic snake-oil salesman of the year

Dashwood/ Argyle... radio performances

Ashur from the Pitt, the ghoul from point lookout as well as the brain, the Mr Handy's and Gutsy's.

Those are the only characters in the game or dlc's with any worth to them. What a pathetic list.

Know what I find telling about the game, specifically through "the ghoul from point lookout" (as Akratus put it)? His character description said things like "is of foreign persuasion, considering his thick British accent".... He has an ACCENT? I was pretty sure his "accent" was that gutteral marble gargling that Bethesda insisted was how all ghouls sound like when speaking. It was news to me that he had a "British accent" beneath that audio charcoal.

That's just a good "poster boy" for all the characters. They were all the same, in one level or another. ALL the ghouls were the same. ALL the mutants were the same. ALL the knights were the same. ALL the soldiers were the same. ALL the civilians were the same. ALL the raiders were the same. ALL THE ELDERLY GUYS WERE THE SAME PERSON!!!! There was absolutely microscopic distinction between the various cast you'd encounter, and that was largely due to the quests they were tied to. Oh, THIS old guy is a twitchy character trying to protect his, um *COUGH* "town" from blood-sucking vandals. Oh, THIS old guy is a lunatic who thinks that requests for assisted suicide are some kind of divine riddle. Oh, THIS whore is... Actually, nevermind. They really are all the same.

Different names to them, though, I'll grant them that! And I remember a good deal of them, but largely just the central players, practically none of the side cast...

I think really that the only way we can get any closure from this, this whole thing, which we've been doing since the game has come out, is to mod the game into something we can live with. I've wondered whether anyone could remove all voice acting from the game, and replace it with some writing that might be worth a damn. Now that'd be the day.

That's the only way I play. I modded the FUCK out of my GOTY version to the point where besides the main plot it's barely recognizable as Fallout 3.

I only remember that Pre-War guy in the Dunwich Building.

I have a strong memory, and I remember every single character from 1, 2, New Vegas. But in Fallout 3.. I don't know..
