Every time again ... E3 rant topic.

Maybe the reason for that detraction from Bethesda hate is because the mainstream gaming audience is doing the hating for us.

Aside from their dedicated fans, public opinion of Bethesda is quite bad.

Dedicated is an understatement:

Who even uses "virtue signaling" unironically without feeling like a clown? That's like admitting you only speak in twitter buzzwords.
I don't know if you have actually played Dishonored but every character is always given rough features, even the characters that are supposed to be beautiful usually have rough features like Jesamine and the Matron of the bar, it was a very concious design decision.
Well you were and since you clearly were trying to point out how much of a bad guy I was while trying to look superior. I don't speak in retarded "buzzwords" like you do as I actually know what I happen to be talking about which is why you still have a grudge against me when I pointed out I knew what I was talking about before leaving. Of course you go on with your autistic screeching about "alt-righters" cause someone doesn't agree with shit opinions. Hey I didn't say anything when you mentioned "Trump's
America" but then you're just some grumpy troll throwing out bait trying to get at @RangerBoo and I. You know I wasn't even talking about rough features but about how not everyone else is ugly, learn to fucking read. Whatever I'm done arguing with the most unlikable person here.

Man for someone who doesn't talk in retarded buzzwords you just built a paragraph filled with a bunch of them and canned phrases.

Googled the internet for Fuck paid mods and got this:

Seems to be the same feeling now, only difference is that the PC crowd only accounted for maybe 10% of sales. If the console crowd does go hostile, the modders who made the choice to do this will have 10 times the angry people after them. I just hope for the people that Bethesda picked as "Top Teir" didn't throw all their eggs in one basket and actually signed away their rights, or even worse, moved to Mayland to work as the curators. If the internet shit itself before with only 10% pc, I can only imagine what it will be like with the other 90%

Well console owners have no alternative, and they will mostly have to stick to the simpler mods anyway. No script extenders on consoles.
They have one alternative. Stop feeding Zenimax money. [PS4]After a month of buying mods and seeing PC user getting it for free, I'm sure they will ponder what they are doing with their money... maybe not.

I think I get why they are saying it isn't paid mods now.
The steam system allowed people to pay the mod author through steam but the mod author only got a portion.
The new system is users paying Bethesda for mods. Bethesda is paying modders to work on mods much like Patreon, except Bethesda will own the mod and the modder will be on contract.

Assign the mod to a particular designation within the game data.

Canon: To be acknowledged by the creator or accepted officially within the game.

Edit: I just realized that means they would need to literally always update the base esm every time a new mod is added. That sounds like all sorts of fun :(

I am pretty sure they would just use optional esp though? I mena there would be alimit to that combined with the mods I guess. I think though for it to have achivement for example also gets abit werid. How would they keep compatibility though ? I mean I am sure they can do it but with all the mods? Sounds like abit of a pain in the arse to be honest

Wow, that's even worse.

I had another thought.
Let's say, Trainwiz who has confirmed to be in the beta, just happened to use assets from a resource on nexus. Didn't get permission. Bethesda curates his, err not a mod mod thing (From now on I will refer to things that appear to be mods as mods). Adds it to the base game, or localizes it. This 'mod' is then sold by Zenimax. Person who created asset finds out about it.

When steam had paid mods, Isoku and Chesko were caught using others assets on their paid mods. The original asset creators did a DMCA. Call me a fresh fish, but since Bethesda is localizing the assets, and they as the parent did not get licensing for the assets, would they not become liable or susceptible for criminal charges? How would they know if Trainwiz didn't make the item? It is well known that all the Dwemer weapons he was credited for were created by the asian dwemer weapon guy and all the creatures were made by Vcn the Japanese guy.

If Bethesda were to neglect curating sound files and he were to use the track to stayin alive like he did in the past, Bethesda missed it, as they did not get licensing to sell it, would they not be liable with the copyright holders. You know. This could end very badly for Zenimax. If they care at all about their company, they will need to be extra vigilant (no pun intended) with ALL their beta modders.

Depends on wether the person who made the asset released it with special conditions like "not for comercial use" or just demanded a credit.

I have reached a point of tiredness of fake advertising being legal with games, that this is all I can say.

I hope every shitty company at E3 loses billions and the CEO's are raped.

I hope every good company at E3 lives long and propsers.

I don't want to open a can of Fallout 4.. I mean shit here, but, I thought so long as one has a copyright, they don't have to specify anything. It is the responsibility of the person making money from it to attain license. If it were how you mentioned, every company would be repackaging all the Morrowind and Oblivion mods from nexus. Can I sell you because you didn't tell me you can't? Are all books fair game?
originalcopyright.jpg

Because they didn't mention selling it, so I can film every page of the book, which isn't copying it then sell it. Or that any image of the book on amazon is breaking copyright. It doesn't add up.
