Fallout 3: official teaser trailer announced

I think its acceptable title screen music, to me at parts it plays mystery (like somethings coming from around the corner) or some mutants are coming to raid a town... who knows...

honestly it reminded me of the Dawn of War game series at first

and ya, aren't "Teasers" usually just some crappy ltitle video of a cut scene or landscape with a narrative voice? :cry:
 
It isn't fallout music. I really, really, doubt that this will be the opening music. Even if Bethsoft is stupid enough to have something not from the correct time period, that just doesn't sound like game music, it sounds like trailer music.

im sure fallout 3 wont have music like that

trying to imagine yourself walking in desert with sounds like that

but im afraid that we will hear this kind of music EVERYTIME when we attack / will be attacked, like in tactics

god / bethesda, please, NO...
 
I like the music "as is", but is thoroughly misplaced to the fallout universe as I feel it.

Titles like "Maybe..." where just spot on. A nostalgic, sad song, reminding us of the world´s destruction yet tantalizingly teasing, promising something better in the future. Also it´s partly light tone managed to come across in a mocking way, telling us not to take Fallout to seriously.

This Wagneresque piece offered to us by Beth is simply to overbearing. All it promises me is lotsa action with a hero in its centre. Too generic. Replace the swords with laser-guns and tadaa you have your Fallout 3..... :eyebrow:

just wanted to add, that i feel very honoured in being able to post on the same board that some of the original fallout makers do. And this comment comes from a german-speaking thityeight-year old with wife & kids, who´s job has taken him across half the world.

to the makers of Fallout. You have made the best series the gaming industry has ever seen. Thank you.

I have to say I like the art, even though it's not overly Falloutish. The music I don't like, and it's definitely not Falloutish. [shameless self-promotion]But hey, what about having this track playing over that page? >_>[/shameless self-promotion]
 
Just listened to it. I like the music, I just don't like the instrumentation; I don't think brass and other orchestral instruments really suit Fallout very well. Less Wagner, more ambient.
 
I don't really like the music it revs up too much. It starts well enough but I was hoping for more apocalyptic and less epic. The are is good however but it will be weird seeing it when we can as a first person game.

theme sounds fine to me. As long as it isn't the 'sleep' theme (provided one does sleep in the game) it could work for a number of scenarios. It hits me like the intro theme to Starfox for the SNES so who knows...
 
This kind of music could work splendidly if the "epic" stuff is kept to cinematics and whatnot.
The fact that the site's music sounds similar to a couple of Fallout 2's cinematics seems to mean that they plonked Soule in front of audio recordings for Fallout 2 and made him listen. Which can only be good. :P

Looks pretty good to me. Really not much I can tell from a picture and a sound file. I'll just have to wait until the ACTUAL TEASER before I pass judgment. Kudos to Bethesda. So far.
 
The music is too cheesy...I hate it. It's like stupid C&C: Generals or sth...I really like the old Fallout jazz theme though and I hope Beth can keep this tradition, or else I'm just gonna warez it.
