Fallout 4 - Far Harbor Official Trailer

As everyone and their mom has said so far, it looks and sounds like Point Lookout. The swamp setting, the mom looking for daughter plot point, two factions going at each others throats, and lovecraft. I think the mom looking for daughter thing will work just like Point Lookout, it is the starting plot point to make you go to the new area then it's almost completely forgotten until the end and you get like 50 caps for finding her.
The Children of Atom just need to die, I realize they are a homage to some wasteland faction but for them to be that far from the DC wasteland in just 10 years make no sense in the slightest. The synths almost make sense, they want to make a new home away from the commonwealth but still, Bar Harbor is almost 300 miles from Boston. Bethesda feels the need to shoe horn lovecraft into every game they can because of The Rule of Cool and lovecraft is edgy now. I mean there are already at least two lovecraft references I know of in Fallout 4 so making lovecraft the DLC just seems too much.
The new enemies looks cool I guess, only saw a few seconds of a few but they seem decent I suppose. Didn't see any new power armor toted to high hell in there so that may be a good thing, no more shoehorned power armor for a while at least. That fucking fog though, it doesn't look good, not good at all. Sure it's supposed to be a supr scury swamp but that fog just doesn't look good at all, looks more like a hindrance than an atmosphere setter.

Guise we should be open to this, I mean...

The base game was shit like we predicted BUT lets give Automatron a chance!
Automatron was awful like we predicted BUT lets give Wasteland Workshop a chance!
Wasteland Workshop was a waste of money like we predicted BUT lets give Far Harbor a chance!

Now for: Far Harbor was a huge waste of money and time like we predicted BUT lets...aww forget this shit.

Fallout: We need the water chip or we will die
Fallout 2: We need the G.E.C.K. or we will die
But unlike Fallout 4 there was so much more to the story in Fallout 1 and 2.

In Fallout 1 the quest starts with you looking for the water chip only to find a threat that threatens the remnants of humanity, The Master and his super mutant army. The game then becomes about stopping them.

In Fallout 2 it was similar, Find the GECK to save your people then stop the Enclave that threatens a recovering humanity but the secondary plots involving the politics of the NCR, Vault City and New Reno and their quest for power and the consequences with who you sided with sets itself apart from its predecessor.

I take it you never bothered to play or research deeply into the first 2 Fallouts, haven't you? :whatever:

Fallout: We need the water chip or we will die
Fallout 2: We need the G.E.C.K. or we will die

To be fair, most people here will agree that Fallout 2's tour de force was its political aspect, no the main story. As far as factions go, the Enclave may be iconic, but they're not exactly complex in any given way.

Also, nobody forced you to join the website. You made a conscious decision to come into a forum known for having a collective opinion contrary to yours, so you don't really get to play the victim.

Besides which, we have as much of a right to judge it negatively based on the trailer as you do to judge it positively.

Soooo, Point Lookout 2.0 eh? While I thought Point Lookout was ok-ish, this might be ok-ish as well. Also, a diving suit? The Aqua Boy perk already renders that moot lol. I dunno, I'll give it a shot once the "Game of the year edition" comes around, but thus far it doesn't look to be anything special.

Well since no one has done this yet on NMA I think I will predict how the story will be in Point Lookout 2: Cthulhu Boogaloo.

The player will first start the dlc alongside Valentine looking for some useless women's daughter. This plot point will be very minor and will serve little purpose in the main story if at all. Just like in Point Lookout.
The player will then find themselves in the middle of a faction war between three unlikable factions who's logic, reasonings and morals will shatter your disbelief if Bethesda hasn't done that already.
The three factions quests will be radiant, Kill, Loot, Return(TM) quest that revolve around you gaining the chosen factions trust and helping them with stupid and illogical bullshit.
Then you will come across the plot twist and at that point Valentine(who was probably acting weird throughout the dlc) will get possessed by Kellogg Cornflakes who will then evolve Valentine into Frosted Valentine(who kinda reminds me of Mecha Hitler from Wolfenstein).
Stuff happens, terrible dialogue and one liners, a lot of shooting and the player will then save Valentine because Bethesda will not give you the option to kill him, although they might just to show up and prove NMA and the Codex wrong.
After saving the day and rescuing the useless women stupid daughter the player will go back home to the Commonwealth where they will be remind that, yes, the dlc did nothing to salvage the game. It will be like Mass Effect 3 and its dlc's all over again. Everything still sucks!

The end! :postviper:

You're giving them to much credit, the plot will go like this:
Get radiant quest to save woman's daughter.
Find synths.
Kill synths.
Return to woman.
Get radiant quest to save woman's son.
Find Children of Atom.
Kill Children of Atom.
Return to woman.
Fight legendary (and essential) Nick Kornflakentine, knock him down, win.
End, no ending slides, no changes.

Everything still sucks!

And the only real winners are Bethesda.

How rude!
Nick has a case that leads you to Far Harbor
Something happens to Nick while you are there and the residual memory of Kellogg resurfaces.
Nick/Kellogg tries to kill you and you save him by almost killing him.
Player must have killed Kellogg to start Far Harbor.

"Radioactive fog" -- so, basically entire zones like a radioactive vault, where you're frantically exploring as quickly as possible before your radiation level gets too high and/or you run out of meds, and then most likely do it again from a save from before that area because you missed something obvious in your rush.

The significant new feature is the part of the game I hate most? Great.

The trailer makes the DLC look super boring, Bethesda won't be getting my money for this drivel.

Goddamnit, you jinxed it.

Stay tuned for intelligent Mirelurks.

Mirelurks are somewhat intelligent. They have a pecking order of sorts, but definitely not a civilization. I seriously doubt that Bethesda would try to pull that. They're not that dumb, right?
