Fallout 76 Really Sucks. People Act Shocked.

Not yet, its not. You have to pay for that first and the private servers aren't out to let them. Once they release their rentable private servers, then modders and players will be filled with pride at their accomplishments in patching a broken game *and* paying to use it.

Oh boy, this is just getting too good. Bethesda is fucking up on all fronts, public approval is dropping with every new development. I was expecting a Trainwreck but this is just so much better.

This is how Bethesda is "fixing" the bag lie:
We understand and respect that there is disappointment with the bag in the Power Armor Edition. We are sorry. Please contact Bethesda Support to provide proof of your CE purchase. They will assist in granting your account 500 Atoms.
Here, have $4.99 worth of cosmetics in the game (tip, you can buy two of the cheapest cosmetic in the Atom shop with that).

So they "fix" it by giving Atoms a player can already receive just by playing the game. And such a small amount of Atoms... This is because they didn't make the actual real life bag the way they said they would.

False advertisement is against the law in most 1st world countries, I wonder if besides the "not refund" legal action that is happening in the USA, Bethesda would get a "false advertisement" legal action too.

Not sure if their new Starfield will start failed.

"Here have 5 dollars, that's what the nylon bag you paid 200 dollars for costed.... I mean, sowwy we hope widdle snowfwake stops being sad becawse he didn't get what he thought he was entwiwed to for his money *lits up cigar with 2 100 dollar bills*"

Is what I assume their press conference about this debacle is gonna be. Is what I hope. No it's what I need it to be.

And, beyond making Maxson out to be F3 reJesus and justifying Lyons - and all the problems resulting from them writing him to be this divine arguer and leader (instead of a relatively normal officer who got elected by popular opinion for a killing and was sortof swimming through shit the entire time)

Called it! I just knew that Bethesda would elevate Maxson into some sort of enlightened military leader a la Big Boss though I should have figured that out when I read the conversation myself.
Again both Bethesda writers and their fans are missing the point.

wouldnt it be funny if those $4.99 were the actual difference in price between the delivered nylon and the promised canvas? If those 4.99 were "too expensive to make" for the $200 PA-version?

How hard is it to make a cheap canvas bag? Canvas is pretty cheap. I can go down to Hobby Lobby right now and get a 5 pack of 18 by 24 inch canvases for 15 bucks! Jesus Bethesda, I knew you were a bunch cheap asses but didn't think you were cheap enough to put Ebenezer Scrooge to shame.

@Norzan That Eurogamer-article. Wow.
https://www.eurogamer.net/articles/...-to-customers-affected-by-fallout-76-bag-gate

Bethesda@Eurogamer said:
Bethesda has since confirmed this email is real, but insisted the response was "incorrect,". The company switched to a nylon carrying case "due to unavailability of materials", Bethesda said.
Your asscovering-skill has improved to level 126.

Bethesda@Eurogamer said:
As for the customer service staff member behind the curt reply above, Bethesda said they're "a temporary contract employee and not directly employed by Bethesda or Bethesda Game Studios".
The only honest person in this mess will soon be the real victim here, it seems. Cause logics.

A reddit-thread from the article. Feast upon it.

Know what? I take it all back. F76 is great entertainment. Its better entertainment than all their games I've actually even played.

It's like someone sneezed at the top of a mountain, the sound cracked the snow and ice... Then suddenly there is an avalanche of unfiltered non NMA based rage barreling down the mountain like Japanese kamikaze fighters targeting an isolated carrier at sea.

Who knew Bethesda would shit the bed so much, wtf did they eat?

I have people coming out of the wood work asking me to lecture to them about the failings of Bethesda Games Studios and their use of the Fallout brand. This is wild considering the other day it was the same people arguing with me about how Fallout 76 wasn't so bad.

Real talk; "Yo Bethesda, you dun fucked up so bad there ain't no way you coming back from this without some nasty scars."

What's even more scummy is this 500 atom deal. If You accept it, You lose the rights to sue them for false advertising.

Fuck them

At the very best, they will make a big patch to corect what his within the reach of their abilities. And if they aren't too gready, they will release the patch for free. I wouldn'T have higher expectations than that.

Their solos games work well enough. They will keep making them and forget the MMO crowd... For a time...

The worst part is that if people actually take those 500 atoms. Then they lose the right to sue Bethesda for false advertising.

Honestly, this whole thing just feels like Bethesda was resting on their laurels, like they can do no wrong. Thinking they are one of the "last good videogame companies". Just slapping Fallout on any game and rake in the cash.

I'm fabulously optimistic that this is a wake up call for people to finally realize Bethesda doesn't give a shit about their customers and only care about making games that appeal to as many people as possible to get the most cash, regardless if they remove everything that made their games appealling to older fans. But i know it's not happening. Already said before, they'll go back to hyping up Elder Scrolls 6, saying it's the best one yet and people will go back to being excited. And sweep Fallout 76 under the rug.
