Fallout: New Vegas quest troubleshooting (spoilers)

without any qualifiers or explanation.
Explanation was in link, which clearly notes that, there is Deathclaw semi-hard to avoid.

Languorous_Maiar ignores the "very perceptive" part, and misquotes me that because the Deathclaw is blind it's therefore easy to avoid.
___He misses the mention of the (relatively safe) Scorpion pass, and cites Cazadores as why my suggestion is not as safe I claim.

For me, north pass isn't "The most harmless". To go to scorpion pass, you must skip deathclaws or cazadores always in some group, not only fire geckos and raiders, not also one monster. It isn't make this shortcut "The most harmless" and I only noticed that. in comparing to safer pass, which is Primm Pass.

Languorous_Maiar doesn't address the request for more details.
Languorous_Maiar posts a video which doesn't address ANY of the request details, and only acquiesces to not using a Stealth Boy. Without the context of the important information, again, his "proof" proves nothing.
Where is that request? Only Stanislao Moulinsky ask for video, and he didn't want those " That doesn't show important details such as your character, present stats/level/skills, and absolute certainty that you weren't running any mods or console commands."

You noticed what proof should have, but I'm not trying to convince you to my point of view, because I know it's for me impossible.

If I have offended you, sorry.

Uwaga - caution
Don't mention even blocking with cliff, if I want I can lure him anywhere I want and then go around him, however that is the fastest way.
Also, he isn't blocked, at the end of video there is still caution, meaning he slowly follows me, but at that moment I can get up and just run off.
He didn't detected me, he is "suspicious of mine presence and are searching for me.", that's all.

Nice job. :) But on Primm's side you have space to maneveur, can it be done the other way around?

@SnapSlav
From west, heh, if you're 5 level character just use 3 turbo.

Perks:
http://www.falloutwiki.com/Day_Tripper
http://www.falloutwiki.com/Fast_Times

Video:
<object width="425" height="279"><embed src="http://media.xfire.com/swf/embedplayer.swf" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowscriptaccess="always" allowfullscreen="true" width="425" height="279" flashvars="videoid=5a72ec"></embed></object>

It isn't any skipping / tricking. Developers created turbo for purposes like this. Why then don't use?

@Stanislao Moulinsky
From west, if you have pro character.

Perks:
http://www.falloutwiki.com/Silent_Running
http://www.falloutwiki.com/Broad_Daylight (No needed)
http://www.falloutwiki.com/Tunnel_Runner
http://www.falloutwiki.com/Travel_Light
http://www.falloutwiki.com/Implant_M-5

Video:
<object width="425" height="279"><embed src="http://media.xfire.com/swf/embedplayer.swf" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowscriptaccess="always" allowfullscreen="true" width="425" height="279" flashvars="videoid=5a7319"></embed></object>

(Silent Running is the most important, at 12 level with only that one perk is still avaible to sneak out him in this way. Just wait for him to turn around like in that video.)

I can't see the videos. :(

For a reason or another I always forgot the existence of Turbo, but there a lot of reasons against this method actually:
-three Turbo for every trip back and forth is a LOT (FearMonkey doesn't use Fast Travel) and Turbo is somewhat rare
-to craft Turbo you need Cazadores glands, which can't be acquired by pacifists or hard to acquire for low level characters
-at level 5 it's kind of hard to have 3 doses of Turbo or the Fast Times perk...

But yeah, I guess it can be done. I just repel the idea of being easy :P ("As you said, that one Deathclaw is blind, therefore easy to sneak out.").

Turbo value is 20, x3=60, a lot of money? Mhm, in F:NV I never has problem with caps. It can be easy acquired, Jack sold them. Just sleep, buy, sleep, buy. :D

I meant a lot in terms of quantity, not price. :violent: Jack sells them, but using the "sleep" method is kind of annoying (vendors replenish their stock once per week, or I remember it wrong?). Also how many Turbos does he have at once?

That's just the thing, of COURSE there's a way (I personally use different combinations of sniping, mining, or whatever's at my disposal, each playthrough), but the point wasn't that it was impossible, but that the Blind Deathclaw is, by nature of its design, VERY HARD TO AVOID. This refers to sneaking past it- new players in particular (because of the average player using Primm Pass for the first time) -and not much else. A couple users offered up different tactics on how they dealt with it, and of course "Turbo always works" is indeed another answer. That Blind Deathclaw is still a VERY perceptive bastard; that was always the point.

As an aside, for whatever reason (maybe because I hated how easy the game was, so I tried to avoid as many things/items/tactics/whatever that made it even MORE so) I never seemed to find a personal use for Turbo outside of getting to the Boomers safely for the first time. Even then, once I learned how to perform the "intended" path (as instructed by the gambler), Turbo was no longer necessary. I started using it on a couple characters for sniping purposes; it made "one shot, one kill" 100% accurate headshots on roving patrols and picking them off before they noticed their buddies were dead MUCH less annoying. =)

Yes. Kinda. It will still result in the death of someone, but you won't need to directly kill anyone with the right set of skills.

Mmmm.... that answer would have to be a big, resounding: Not exactly.

You'd need some considerable foreknowledge of the quest if you were to take the "non violent" approach (which results in many people dying), and if you the "ultra pacifist" approach, you'd PROBABLY need to find a way to Reverse Pickpocket an NPC to get them to do some necessary killing FOR you, otherwise you'll be stuck in a situation where you need to get your hands dirty.

Take your pick, but option A, with how you're intending to play the game, would be LEGENDARILY hypocritical.

Also, If you are planning on completing "How Little we Know" you should complete Joana's Quest first (the prostitute in the courtyard) because if you complete the other one Joana's Quest Fails, and her quest is both perfectly possible to complete without anyone dying, and its kind of a nice thing to do.

Well, that is too bad. :(

EDIT: Not sure I can do this quest or not. I'd need him to come with me to Jacobstown to get the surgery but from what everyone tells me he's uber-aggressive and will kill stuff on the way up there, which I don't want. Also, another dog will have to die so Rex may live. I'll have to think about this one. :p

Taking Rex to Jacobstown basically looks like this:

*whistling Heartaches by the number theme"
- Okay Rex, looks like we're outta the main road, Cazadors shouldn't bother us here.
- Bark! Bark!
Oh, look, there's some path here. The compass says that's the way.
- Bark!
- Whoa, look at it, it's snow! Real snow! I haven't seen snow since Tac... Rex, where the hell are you going?! Rex...? Rex, leave that mantis alone, we need to go to Jacobs... (bam! slow motion death of the mantis) God damn it, get back here you stupid do... NO DON'T ATTACK THAT MANTIS EITHER THE FUCK IS WRONG WITH YOU GET BACK HERE YOU STUPID SCOUNDREL...!

And that's for the next 15 minutes of walk. Not to mention that you'll be given a mission involving killing nightstalkers and sometimes a Cazador drops by with a visit (but Muties take care of him easily). But you can visit Jacobstown and talk to Marcus to get a mission that can be solved via speech check, so go for it :)

Well, since you don't Fast Traverl getting to Jacobstown without him attacking a Mantis or something is impossible. :\ Regarding the dog donor...well...one of the candidates could be accettable for you...

You don't need to kill any Nightstalker if you have the Animal Friend perk. :)

Ah yes, totally forgot :) That's one more of those perks I never took (I'm this kind of player who seeks experience everywhere).

Yup. This is pretty much why I can't do this. Oh well. Gonna have to go back to a previous save and get this quest out of my quest log then. :p

Only thing I have to re-do is the second half of G.I. Blues so no biggie.
