Fallout: The Series now the most successful Amazon show ever

Mind you, I'm a Fallout 2 fan over 1.
Hahaha, why though? I love Fallout 2, don't get me wrong, but it's the worst of the Interplay/Black Isles/Obsidian issues (not counting Tactics or BoS). It'd be better than Fallout in nearly every way if not for the obnoxious near Bethesda pop culture bombarding.

Eh, the in-jokes aren't something I care much about one way or the other.

For me, it boils down to:

* Vault City - the compelling society based around a vault and science rule in a Wasteland society.

* New Reno - The mafia families, their questlines, and the various quests like boxing champ, porn star, and Jet.

* The Enclave - Better villains than the Master because I never really vibed with his master plan being as sympathetic or interesting as people think. Especially when the Cathedral cult seemed so similar to the one from Wasteland.

I completely agree with your takes on Vault City, and New Reno.
Vault City perfectly came across as the elitist, shuttered society that would've suffocated on their own farts had they not surfaced, let alone ally with NCR.
New Reno felt like an anarcho-New Vegas, from an initial post New Vegas perspective.

But the Enclave being better villains than the Master? Ehhh, the Enclave are just echoing similar to what the Master wants, but in a pre-war mentality sense - devising their solutions to their perceived problems to bringing upon a race of humanoids that fit their pre-2077 genetic narrative (the ones that won't immediately die from the Curling-13 virus).
The Master (and other strong Unity minds like the Lieutenant) actually want to continue where the US govt left off with FEV, and forcibly evolve the entire human race into super mutants. Which of course, I legally cannot advocate for because of the nature of this forum (let alone its name).

Ironically, one of its most praised elements is why it never worked for me. The Master ditches his plan once the player points out they're sterile and I'm like, "Would he really stop?" I mean, just keep humans in breeding pens and turn them later.

The Enclave have COMMITMENT to their genocide.

The Master believes that Supermutants are a next step in mankind's evolution. The atrocities he commits are seen by him as necessary to achieve that goal.

If the Supermutants are sterile and he has to forever breed humans to sustain the SM population, then it's not really an evolution, but literal dead end. All atrocities he commited were pointless.

Yeah, but The Master wasn't even a proper Super Mutant - he was just some mutated curiosity like Harold. The dude had a corridor filled with the giblets of dead psykers, he was clearly not fit to run his movement, doing shit like calling your entire lifework quits over one hangup. Lieutenant is actually committed to the Unity; he's aware of the sterility f law and is addressing it. The Unity probably would've eventually made muties fertile if given enough time.

Another way to put it is that it's literally dysgenic. The Master's whole rationale for dipping everyone is that super mutants are eugenic.

Well it's canon now that Gulpers can produce viable humanoid offspring, the only known mutants of their kind in the entire franchise, just to set up a throwaway line where Chris Parnell says a gulper was his great uncle.

Actually, this is the one area where it's upfront. The Gulpers are originally born from human women so it just means that he's related to one of their family.

Do I have to explain why it's retarded for Gulpers to produce humanoid offspring now? There are wild gulpers. So where are the wild humanoid mutants?

No, the Gulpers were birthed from humans. We saw the pregnancy video where a woman gets eaten by her own Gulper spawn.

It's the most horrifying moment in the show.

But yes, if said woman had a sister or brother who had a one-eyed child, then those Gulpers could be the Overseer's Great uncle(s).

It's a one off joke but Gulpers don't need to have human spawn.

The ozarks also have a Breaking bad rip off.
??? in what way is ozark a breaking bad ripoff? there arent even any characters or plotlines that are analogous to each other. the only similarity i can think of is they both had mid endings

Yeah never watched that show.
its good. definitely some crime shows to watch before it tho. obvioulsy breaking bad/better call saul. the wire, the shield, the sopranos, and fargo. but if youve already seen all of those you could do worse.

All of them but Fargo. Saw the movie.
its not an adaption to tv its an anthology set in the same continuity. criminally underrated show. ive only seen 3 seasons of it but i like all of those stories more than the movie tbh
