First round of Fallout 4 Reviews

IGN, as part of spamming hundreds of articles about Fallout, posted this little gem of a video.

Get Power Armor within 5 minutes of leaving the Vault.

Good on ya, IGN.

AKA Just follow the quest marker of the first quest.

Isn't that the same one? Or there is another Crashed Vertibird with Power Armor in this one?

This is a Fallout game to the core. The thrill of exploration and discovery is at the heart of the experience. It always feels like there's more to find, more to uncover.

When you think about it ... it is kinda telling that Fallout is now asociated with that. A simple loot hunt while exploring green dots on a map that might have a story to it, but most of the time are just caves or buildings full of crates with generic loot.

Not that I mind that here and there. But Fallout really should be a game about exploring the narrative, the story, quests, dialog, how your interactions define the world around you and so on.

How did one of the Fallout developers said? The morale of the wasteland and it's inhabitants is more important than throwing out the newest flashy plasma rifle. Something like that ... a very novel idea in this time and age it seems ... pfff! Exploring human behaviour. Morale? Dialog?

I have no idea if this armor is the same as the one you get in the quest. He didn't activate the quest. He just ran from the vault to a mole den to get a fusion core and then to the vertibird. Is it the same? o_O

Remember when you didn't come across power armor until later in the game or had to work for it? Screw that! Lets just let the player be Billy BadAss of the wastes at the beginning of the game. This is a power fantasy and everyone want to be All Powerful BadAss McJesus Man. :whatever:

Power armour is a Hot Rod now. A junk car that you trick the hell out to roll with the cool/atomic cats.

Here comes that good old berating and disparagin. For a blissful moment I thought constructive criticism and carefully considered concerns were the norm and not juvenile name calling.

Sometimes I just get the impression that folks around here will find any negative facets and accentuate them to a disporportionate degree.

It might be interesting to know that some of these reviewers found the power armor system to be something of a chore in its implemention, and not as strongly executed as it could be. And the romance system is very silly indeed, but there almost seems to be a "so bad its good" kind of vibe from being able to just romance everyone without consequence.

The THRILL of following a quest compass marker that tells you foot by foot how long until you are handed Power Armor.

WOOOOOO!!!!

Sometimes it's called making harmless jokes. Not everyone here follows that but generally that's the case.

There is nothing good about their lazy coding and writing making it so that you can romance everyone.

It's just straight up stupid and lazy crap with no redeeming value and 0 consequences for your actions just like every other part of this jack of all trades action "rpg".

That's not a harmless joke, that's a statement of fact. Being lazy and accidentally making something that appeals to the lowest common denominator of gamers because they have no real expectations of quality or consistency is never "good". At best it's passable, and mostly it's just bad.

BAD.

I know that word hurts feelings, and makes 2 year olds cry, but sometimes we need to know when we're being bad so one day we can be better at things.

I mean we are basically making harmless jokes about BGS doing shitty things or just talking in a joking way. Not that what we're saying is a joke and it shouldn't be taken seriously at all.
